The government has announced that the canal route will be released this month. The San Juan River is a biosphere reserve is located north of the border with Costa Rica.

The canal project is to link the Pacific Ocean with the Caribbean Sea through wider than Panama, at a cost that the government has estimated at 40 billion dollars wet route.

The concessionaire has already announced it will also build two ports, free trade zone, Resorts, an international airport and several highways as well as steel and cement industries.

Lara mentioned that both the Great Lake of Nicaragua and the San Juan River, will see their levels, but gave no details.

The ecologist, who spoke of the channel in the third person, insisted that the canal route will not touch wooded areas and provide resources to recover environmental degradation
