Government of Nicaragua will detail project of the media campaign channel

The Nicaraguan Government will present the route and other details of the Grand Canal of Nicaragua project through a communication campaign across the country, including telecasts, said today the National Council of universities (CNU). "From next week starts across a dynamic, there will be presentations of the project studies, of how it has been designed", said the President of CNU, Telémaco Talavera, the Government media.

The CNU is mostly composed of State universities, participate in some research on the channel, published the EFEAgency. "We will be in departmental capitals, in the municipalities where you pass the path, sharing what it is, what are the benefits that will have people, what's involved in the Grand canal, is also going to be being born (transmitted) by television", Talavera said.

In June 2013 Nicaragua granted a concession to the Chinese company HKND Group to build a wet canal that the Pacific Ocean with the Caribbean Sea a more broadly than in Panama. The firm recently announced it will build also "two ports, an area of free trade, holiday centres, an international airport and several highways".

They will present benefits and economic impacts

Talavera said that the company specialized in ERM environmental impact studies and the concessionaire HKND Group will be presentations in the country on "what are their benefits, their economic, social and environmental impacts, (and) how we are going to move forward as Nicaragua" with the construction of the canal.

Nicaragua estimated the investment at $ 40 billion, but HKND Group has not confirmed quantities. The idea of the Government is that presentations of the channel are commemorative of the revolution in Nicaragua, but Talavera said not if the campaign will start own July 19, the anniversary date.

According to the law governing it, the Nicaraguan canal for the passage of large ships between the Caribbean and the Pacific could be partially built in 2019, year in which would have the capacity to capture 416 million metric tons, which would represent 3.9% of the shipping world.

Design seeks to prevent environmental hazards

He said, this great transformer project is not isolated, but it is part of a comprehensive conception of the development of Nicaragua promoted by the Government. "An interoceanic in Nicaragua would have the benefits for different national sectors, as well as an impact on the reduction of costs of the world trade," he said.

They re-evaluate academic offer of undergraduate and graduate
