Getting Nok on board is the turning of the corner. Certainly we all realize that the Qcomesq revenue figures for 2g are not going to happen, but the amount that will be collected is good enough to get the street interested. Recurring revenue has been the missing ingredient for many years and with Nok, Ericy, NEC, Samsung and Sharp on board, IDCC has a very firm base of companies that are in the growth mode. Many and I expected the percentage to be higher, but even the lower percentage adds up. The real money will be in 3g and that of course is a real mystery as to when. IDCC has bought an additional 3 1/2 years of solid profitability if Nok/Samsung come on board and enough cash flow to weather the 3g slow down. If 3g is a bust, then the entire tech sector will be upside down causing the rest of the market to stumble also. I am still a believer that 3g will be the savior of the entire world economy because I cannot yet identify any other sector that has the job creation potential. Additionally, it will stimulate technology R&D which will also create decent paying jobs. Even Alan Greenspan recently spoke of the necessity of protecting the IPR of companies because that is where American companies are going to spend future capital. Our own special interest groups have done a lot to aid the cold blooded MBA's in ridding America of manufacturing which was the foundation of job creation since the industrial revolution. 3g is the beginning of new mobile media and the sky is the limit with creativity and killer apps, but the equipment must be made to support the data transfer. There is much to be done in the energy, security and coverage fields that will stimulate job growth. The technology will coordinate with the medical industry to provide major breakthroughs. The key is to get it started and it will gain momentum from there.

Gotta hit the sack
