A world reknowned scientist specializing in longevity studies set up shop in Daytona Beach, Florida. His laboratory was right across the main highway from the beach. His studies had helped him develop a formula that allowed dolphins to live forever. The formula had two special requirements. One, that it must be administered before noon each day and two, that it required fluids from seagulls between 13 and 19 years of age.
One morning while the scientist was collecting birds on the beach, the parade for the state fair started down the main highway. As the scientist attempted to return to his laboratory he found himself unable to cross the highway because of the parade. Frantic because of the timetable he searched for a way across. At last he saw a dune that was high enough that he might be able to leap over the parade. With a great leap he flew over the road with his sack of birds just as the lions cages passed beneath.
Upon landing he was immediately arrested and charged with transporting teenage gulls across a state lion for immortal porpoises.
