i used a 30 min. trend time frame .
Then a 5 min. Daily Pivot with MA 34 over it for cover .

i did not see much that i liked today for DT ing .

XLE had a perhaps ok move 11:05 on the 5 min.

Saw a great DT to share this morning.
XLE in a recent downtrend ala 30 min. chart etc.
On the 5 min. you will see a beautiful 123 ish lower hi type price action
to a break of the Support etc.
Point being i think if the trend is in place on the higher , the lower
time frame has a good chance.
Still, DT madness is ruff stuff.

Holding a nice swing like you have is wiser .

i do not play golf either , but enjoy the gym :o)

XLE althought not a mentioned trading ETF as an indicator for a 3x ETF
seems to be hanging in there .

Nice Chart and Price Action maybe the way .

Also, i see when either the rally or dip has been large to some degree .
The chance of some ok 123 pattern shows itself .
Like the low of early Oct. to a little rally , down to a higher low and then up . An earlier entry is acceptable due to stop being so close .

Also, there is an alternative 123 pattern .
Called 2B which allows for the pattern you see back in later July leading to the short etc.

i will find the link for that if you would like to read about it .

Perhaps the thing of this is making sure the rally or dip qualifies to
start looking for the 123 patterns .

Also, the trust in a longer term MA for a little extra confirmation of
trend .

I see XLE as a possible example of the MACD 65 90 10 it seems flat ( going up in fast line a bit ) but slightly downward looking.
And
There is a double bottom with now a 1 2 3 pattern.
Draw the trend line from recent hi todays low and it is broken.
Combined with Dumas two day hi entry rule , i think also in place .
Stop also very close .

Aside from your MACD 65 90 10 having some great indications of Trend and
perhaps some trades .

i see some great 123 patterns .

Nice group of charts .

Was re reading The Street Smarts book .
For years have used LBR 3 10 16 sma MACD and the suggested use (1st. cross) from the book and one which i read some wheres else, called the sling shot.
Of course divergences as well.
In the book there is a section on RSI 2 trade.
When i saw that it reminded me that Duma has an RSI 2 trade.

One trade which is a DT that is still very reliable when one has the time
is the SP 610 and 233 tick .
On that i use LBR as well for help and 3 day pivots / 1 day pivots .

Well, i hope there will be some action XIV long or short tomorrow.
Do not want todays action to be the excuse for me to rest on it.
Still i hope to only take the logical trade.

BUT

If need be NUGT OR DUST may be ok ish.
They had big moves yest., had a rest day today .
Maybe tomorrow might be day for them ?

At some point i am gearing up for /CL , but not ready yet , so i say.
Been learning on the same tick er , RTH 610 trend and 233 entry etc.

LOTS OF TRADES , so one has to be able to be selective .

For now if XIV keeps a nice flow up and down , ok by me .
At least compared to CL i can keep my sanity LOL

Hey spdpro, ironically if one was to have trusted this 3 day JP pivot trade
they would have been short nice since yest.

It even had some moving ave. coverage on top.

i have tried to do that , but winding up just DTing it .

take look one day .

Well, i am rather simple about it .
and
Will have to see what tomorrow brings .

i am going to make a game plan before the open predicated on the Over
night action , then at the open switch my charts to RHT tick.

Design it if possible around the JP 3 and 1 day P's and then just
trade the trend Bouncers long or short at the Blue River & EMA's on the short term chart.

If the BR & EMA's are slanted great , give away .
Once in a while it happens.

If they are trending but flatten on the short term entry , still go with it
in the 610 trend , bouncer .

The trick is to really see it as best as possible , if one is fishing
to see it , forget about it.

Just wait for is to look good .

Ring the register and try another one or just walk away.

Ok this morning was a great short or had a few great shorts depending
on how you trade .



But, had no idea that it would be down 13 balloons or so this afternoon.

Thanks let me dig in a bit .

Granted for a few weeks the XIV trades where sparse at times and limited
as far as big pay offs go.
But
A few times a week when the set /s up came , they where worth doing .

i did not do some of the insane bullish MO MO give aways , like buy the

small gap ups as MA support etc.

Just waited for the 610 and 233 to pull back together , hold and then
move up from either MA confluence or with the short term MA cross etc.

Stop loss and 1/2 profit very visual .

Have to have BE after 1st. 1/2 profit to slightly above BE due to
wash rule .

*** Do you have any idea what Futs are similar to this Long and shorting

XIV. i feel ready to do Futs on it on some days.***

Been learning 610 233 on CL , nice action if one can be present mentally with program down .

XIV recently a nice mover to take a look at if the action keeps moving.

Personally , i am on the 1600 , 610 and 233 tick charts TOS.

But

i think some ok 15 min trend , 5 min. signal and 2 min. entry maybe

good.

Pivot points ok as well.

Went for the 4th .
I knew that it was a music weekend , but had no idea how much out of doors
concerts would be happening , almost one after an other .
Fun time once i got there.
But , must say the traveling by airplane was ruff , delays / cancellations
etc.
Then coming home from the airport , due 7/4 fire works and parts of the
big apple down town blocked off , the cab ride took about 1 1/2 hours.

Still Montreal is a nice place.

Today was a great example of combo short signal ( anchor ) and entry ( shorter time chart).

Yest. was not a good day in my opinion but if one did it , not so bad.

But , still learning to avoid the med. to lack luster days is best.

i recently have been mostly trading XIV .

1600 tick

610 tick

both those are for trend help and signal .

233 tick is entry .

Next week i shall start a NFLX watch .

Personally i watch NFLX as well .

Also, having an alternative to XIV is good for me if i want to be

a touch more active.

NUGT DUST are ok as well but something tells me a Mo Mo stock maybe ok.

With BR in both 610 and 233 curling , with a simple system one can
catch some coin or more.
Patiently Hawking for the price to go back to what ever one wants for
the meaning to take a trade with stop loss etc.

BUT

i will expecting some GAP, cris crossing in price action among the trend
days , ESP,ly when the VIX picks up speed going UP LOL

The CH quality play will be trying to capture the with in Trend sets up

on both or even 610 x 3 tic as will, for a bet the farm trade .

There was some serious rain yest. morning time here as well.

*** The thing so far that i once knew and like many tricks put somewhere
in my memory bank etc. IS when using the dif. time frame or tic frame
charts they at times for certain trades , have to make the SAME MOVE to signal and entry . Well that
is for me NOW , may add another soon and perhaps on a subjective basis
i maybe doing a few other things in this configuration , Still the
pattern is the same premise . It is just time as experience allow for some
grace :o) ***
