Rivetz web site is starting to have some content
http://rivetz.com/
As of right now,it says "what we do" but the links for who we are and connect with us do not work. I would expect more from Rivetz between now and 3/6.
Does anyone know if SKS had a noncompete clause in his Wave contract? Maybe he agreed to take less money / stock in his buyout in order to become CEO of Rivetz. Hopefully he will be able to use Wave's products in his new startup and pay us back for hanging in with him for all of these years.
I believe if Wave were an IPO, it would be valued much higher. I wish Steven good luck with his new company. He is still on our BOD so his success should benefit all of us.
SKS listed on schedule but not under speakers - 3/6

How to turn ANY laptop (Windows/Linux/Mac) into a hardware wallet: API supporting any Bitcoin Wallet
jaequeryFebruary 27
Presentation by Steven Sprague at the Texas Bitcoin Conference
•Steven Sprague is the CEO of Rivetz and has spent the last 15 years as a leading expert promoting the built-In Trusted Computing standards in consumer devices. Rivetz is a startup focused on leveraging those capabilities to provide the benefits of a hardware security to any Wallet provider. This presentation will outline how Existing hardware can provide a best in class vault to protect and execute the users instructions to the block chain.
Steven will be presenting on March 6, and participating on a Bitcoin Security Panel as well.
My wife just bought Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Ultra-Portable Hard Drive at Costco. It says that it has Easy Backup with "Encryption Software"
It says it contains "the Wave logo"
I haven't opened it yet but I think this is great news.
Me too. Maybe news will come out of this conference in Tampa where Wave is an exhibitor:

Maybe a new gov't contract?
It is always darkest before the dawn. Good luck WAVOIDS!!

Listening to conference call now
2 things I heard that are very important and significant to me a nontechy.
1. I think Steven said that encrypted drives are now in 2.5% of laptops up from 1% and he expects encrypted drives to be in the majority at some point in the future. I'm not sure if he said when but there is certainly room for growth.
2. I think he said that this 1st quarter will be the 1st cash flow positive quarter ever and there are no plans to raise cash anytime soon. As it looks now there will be enough revenues to run the company. No more dilution!! Yeah!!
It should be an excellent year for Wavoids if we are patient and don't sell too soon.
I wonder if our old friend Joe Trippi has anything to do with the government supporting TPMs. I think 2010 will be a very good year for Wavoids. 10 in '10 is very realistic.
DRM, your golf's on me. If all goes well over the next year, we can buy one of the courses just for WAVOIDS. There is no state income tax in Nevada so I may be moving there.
DRM - great to see you hanging in and doing well. Great to see so many of you still here. I have more shares than ever and am more optimistic than ever. With the reverse split even at 3.00 this is like 1.00 in the old days which is where I started buying in 1998. To get back to our old high of 50 we have to get to 150.
Luckily we got the opportunity to load up at .30-.40. Snackman, when do we go to Vegas? How about next January during the CES?
Weby, I always agree with everything you say. You are a wise owl. I hope to see you at next year's shareholder meeting. It's been too many years. I semi-retired 10 years ago and have been working harder than ever the past 6 years but I've had more fun than ever too. I am very optimistic that the hard work will pay off. I'm much more diversified now but have more shares of WAVX than ever. 44 was too young to retire. I think 59 will be perfect. Let's toast to financial independence in the next 4 years for all of my long time WAVOIDS! Danny Hakim, keep our numbers on speed dial.
I am a Psychiatrist who prescribes a lot of antipsychotic meds. The biggest obstacle to treatment is the side effects of meds. In my opinion Zyprexa by Lilly works the best but it causes the most weight gain, high cholesterol, high triglycerides and has risks of diabetes. Risperdal and Seroquel have less risk but they don't work as well - Risperdal causes high Prolactin levels and galactorrhea. Seroquel causes a lot of sedation which is sometimes a good thing but often interferes with daily functioning. Clozaril is another option but it causes weight gain and requires weekly blood tests to watch for low WBC.
Options that don't cause weight gain, etc are supposedly Geodon and Abilify but they only work about 50% of the time and many pts need additional antipsychotics. Recently we have seen more weight gain on Abilify.
What I'm getting at is that Psychiatrists and patients are waiting for an antipsychotic that works and doesn't cause weight gain. It is not just for Schizophrenia. Once it is approved we will use it for Bipolar patients who are manic, Dementia with psychosis and substance abused with psychosis. We have a lot of people getting older and getting psychotic in nursing homes and a lot of young people unfortunately doing meth on a daily basis until they get psychotic.
Of course there's some risk that Fanapt won't work or may cause some yet unknown serious side effect. In my opinion it's worth the risk. Buy VNDA and WAVX and I guarantee 1 or both will triple in the next year or your money back - not the money you invest, just the money you paid for this advice.
Weby, glad to see you hanging in there. Physicians, hospitals and government need encryption that's for sure. Hopefully Trippi will help us on the government side.
The fires here in Santa Barbara came to the top of my street but we are safe. Some friends and patients lost their houses.
Thanks for the private message but I didn't have the ability to respond. Your cousin Jeff emailed me also.
More confident and holding more shares than ever.
Glad to see all the old timers still here. Snackie, I hope BE means break even and not what it means in medicine "barium enema."

They have great products. Ihub board says 1 for 5 reverse split is coming. That will make it a 5 bagger, right?
Just kidding. I think it may go down short term but should bounce back later.
WAVX is my #1 pick
Just found this board. Wave Systems was started by Peter Sprague who successfully ran National Semiconductor for 30 years. His son Steven Sprague now runs it and he is much sharper than his Dad. George Gilder is on the board as is Nolan Bushnell who started Atari. Lark Allen used to work for IBM for 30 yrs and is a VP. Joe Trippi used to do PR for Wave and is very close to Obama - he did Obama's internet social networking plan.
I 1st bought WAVX in 1998 at 1.10. It hit 50 in March of 2000 and is now 0.53 after a 1 for 3 reverse split last year. They have no debt and have not made a profit yet but should be profitable this quarter. They have the best internet hardware security solution and have deals with HP, IBM, Seagate, Intel, Dell, Infineon and others. See wave.com for more info.
Thank me when we hit 5.30.
Larry teaching Larry about Psychiatry
This is a fun board. Everyone thought we were delusional and drinking kool aide but it looks like our 10+ year beliefs may not be false after all.
Don't worry about dilution or delusions! The truth is that profits are coming and the stock will not go straight up but the trend will be on our side for many years.
Yes John - that was a joke. Those were the good old days. Maybe they will bring COMDEX back someday during the next bubble in high tech.
I am still very optimistic about Wave. I have been accumulating and not selling any since the last run to 5 many years ago.
Negatives are the global economy and I really don't like the way expenses went up so much that we haven't broken even yet.
I'd like to see more cost cutting in executive pay. I think once we break even we will be increasing prifits every quarter for many years. I haven't talked with him for many years but I really think Joe Trippi will find a way to get us more government contracts now that the democrats are taking charge. There are too many hackers out there and Trippi knows that we have the best solution and I believe Obama will listen to him.
Good luck everyone and I hope to see you in Vegas in a few years. When is COMDEX?
Eli
Reasons for optimism - listening to call now
1) Doubling of revenue next quarter - CEO would not say this several times if he was not very confident. There may be more large orders that more than double revenue.
2) We will be very close to break even in the current quarter and likely profitable next quarter.
3) Maybe this should be #1. Joe Trippi ran Obama's social network which helped get him elected. For those of you who don't know Joe was an early WAVOID and was at shareholder meetings, COMDEX, EEE, etc. He even worked for Wave for a while helping with PR. I would guess that Joe would push Obama to use Wave's products for many gov't depts. I'm sure no one will be an unauthorized reader of Obama's emails like what happenned to Sarah Palin.
4) Wave remains in business with no long term debt and no need for a gov't bailout.
5) Wavexpress will probably be sold cutting our costs and creating a partner to push Wave's products.
6) Steven is one of the smartest CEO's I have ever heard. He is learning so much every year and remains very young at 44 y/o. He will be leading this company for the next 20-30 years.
7) We have a great group of loyal shareholders who are hanging onto their shares and buying more.
8) We have Dell, IBM, Acer, Seagate, Infineon, NEC, etc as great partners.
Accumulating for many years and have more shares than ever. No plan to sell until we hit double digits.
Great conference call and best quarter so far. I think profitability is around the corner and there's no place to go but up from there.
This is my 10 year anniversary as a shareholder and I have more shares now than ever which I guess means more than 3 times as much as I had in 2000.
Good luck everybody. See you in Vegas.
Hey Katmai. See you in Vegas. I've been in less than 10 years. I know the best is yet to come.
Katman
Thank you ftmyers, Capitulation is here or very close in my opinion which has often been wrong. Someone who bought at the top is now selling. Could this be a near term bottom?
I love the following paragraph from 1 of today's releases titled "International Stock Targets: Wave Systems Corp.s Security Management Software to be Used in Secure Notebook Systems "
Seagate's Momentus 5400 FDE.2 (Full Disc Encryption) hard drive features perpendicular recording technology to deliver up to 160GB of capacity, a fast Serial ATA interface, and hardware-based AES encryption, a government-grade security protocol used to encrypt all hard drive information transparently and automatically, preventing unauthorized access to data on lost or stolen laptops. The encrypting hard drive also gives organizations an easy way to repurpose or retire laptops without compromising sensitive information and to comply with the growing number of data privacy laws calling for the protection of consumer information using government-grade encryption.
In my opinion this is unbelievably great news for companies who have laptops stolen or those who have employees who leave and try to take data with them. All of a sudden their laptops will stop working.
Let's all buy a new ASI laptop!!
When will they be available and where is the best place to order from? Let's show the world that we have been waiting a long time for this. I want my TRUSTED PC!!
Thank you Matt for letting me change my alias.
Actually Snackman, I've been around since January 1998. I sold a few shares here and there but have more shres than ever and am more confident than ever. I was buying from .60-.95 presplit and between 1.90 and 2.33 post split.
I have read the board at times but mainly focused on work, family, havung fun, real estate and other stocks - basically keeping busy waiting for the world to catch up to what we already knew 8-10 years ago.
Do you think I should let Danny take my pic or do you think it would be used in a negative way to portray Wavoids a fools?
New York Times article
Hi everyone. I am back to my former name hoping Wave will get back to its former glory. I was mentioned in the old Smart Money article and had my picture in there with my WAVX license plate.
Danny Hakim wrote that article and now writes for NYT. He has been calling me and e-mailing me for several months. His photographer called and they want to take a pic of me again with my licence plate. He has pics of Steven Sprague, Brian Berger and Len Vail. I agree with other posters that the article should focus on what the company is doing so I have declined to be photographed. In a few years when Wave makes it big Danny can do a followup story about how smart the diehard Wavoids were. We were just 8-10 years ahead of our time but we are getting very close to being in the right place at the right time.
