it's a "Greek Stock" so being bent over is to be expected.....maybe the worse diluters ever, but that is amazing even to me.....WOW!!...so bad, was
hard to even get a chart on it for past years without it going off the top of the screen, and that was when it was just NEWL!!! (not NEWLF)
Funny thing is I just looked up a couple of historical PPS's for NEWL in May, 2010 which stated it was 1e+07 ($10,000,000).

Western Digital Announces World’s First 64 Layer 3D NAND Technology
07/26/2016 @ 9:00AM
http://ih.advfn.com/p.php?pid=nmona&article=72052831
256 Gigabit 3-Bits-Per-Cell Chip is the Smallest in the Industry
Western Digital Corp. (NASDAQ: WDC) today announced that it has successfully developed its next generation 3D NAND technology, BiCS3, with 64 layers of vertical storage capability. Pilot production of the new technology has commenced in the Yokkaichi, Japan joint venture facilities and initial output is expected later this year. Western Digital expects meaningful commercial volumes of BiCS3 in the first half of calendar 2017.
“The launch of the next generation 3D NAND technology based on our industry-leading 64 layer architecture reinforces our leadership in NAND flash technology,” said Dr. Siva Sivaram, executive vice president, memory technology, Western Digital. “BiCS3 will feature the use of 3-bits-per-cell technology along with advances in high aspect ratio semiconductor processing to deliver higher capacity, superior performance and reliability at an attractive cost. Together with BiCS2, our 3D NAND portfolio has broadened significantly, enhancing our ability to address a full spectrum of customer applications in retail, mobile and data center.”
BiCS3, which has been developed jointly with Western Digital’s technology and manufacturing partner Toshiba, will be initially deployed in 256 gigabit capacity and will be available in a range of capacities up to half a terabit on a single chip. Western Digital expects volume shipments of BiCS3 for the retail market in the fourth calendar quarter of 2016 and to begin OEM sampling this quarter. Shipments of the company’s previous generation 3D NAND technology, BiCS2, continue to customers in retail and OEM.

Western Digital May Topple Samsung in 3-D NAND, Says Susquehanna
July 26, 2016, 1:04 P.M. ET
By Tiernan Ray
http://blogs.barrons.com/techtraderdaily/2016/07/26/western-digital-may-topple-samsung-in-3-d-nand-says-susquehanna/?mod=yahoobarrons&ru=yahoo&yptr=yahoo
Susquehanna Financial’s Mehdi Hosseini today reiterates a “Positive” rating on shares of Western Digital (WDC), writing that it has become the new “first mover” in NAND flash memory storage chips, perhaps closing the gap with Samsung Electronics (005930KS), the NAND giant.
Western this year closed its purchase of SanDisk, bringing vast NAND production assets to its traditional hard disk drive business.
The spur to Hosseini’s note today is the announcement this morning by Western, along with partner Toshiba (6502JP), that it has opened a new production facility in Japan’s Mie Prefecture for the conversion of existing “2-D” NAND to the newer “3-D” variant.
This is significant, he thinks, and Western and Toshiba may even surpass Samsung in production of the latest 3-D chips:
WDC’s announcement this morning of the commencement of pilot production of its 64-Layer TLC 3D NAND at the Yokkaichi plan is consistent with our long-held view that WDC/Toshiba is set to significantly close the 3D NAND technology gap with Samsung in 2017 (LINK). In fact, we would go so far as to say WDC/Toshiba may even MOVE PAST Samsung in 1H17 as WDC’s 64-Layer product begins OEM sampling in the current 3QCY16, volume shipment for Retail begins in 4QCY16, and meaningful volume shipments in 1H17. We believe Samsung’s 64-Layer roadmap may be a full two quarters behind that of WDC while Samsung may need a few more quarters to qualify at customers. From a broader 3D NAND industry perspective, we now view WDC and Samsung to be the leaders in 3D NAND, followed by MU/Intel (beginning meaningful volume shipments of 48-Layer 3D NAND in 1H17), and lastly Hynix, which remains well behind the pack in 3D NAND (meaningful volume ships of 48-Layer commencing in 2H17). In Figure 1, we illustrate the 3D NAND timelines for each player (Samsung, WDC/Toshiba, MU/Intel, and SK Hynix).
Western stock today is up $1.47, or 2.8%, at $53.54.
thanks for the chart, WDC setting up very nicely.....

Steve Milligan, Chief Executive Officer of Western Digital, said, “As a leader in non-volatile memory products and solutions, we are excited to be entering the 3D NAND era with our partner Toshiba. The New Fab 2 enables us to begin the conversion of our existing 2D NAND capacity to 3D NAND and continues our long-standing presence in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, and Japan.”
Currently there are 14 major B/D's having a strong buy on the shares, including B.of Am./Merrill, who recently raised their opinion to a strong buy from a sell.
