Neither of those articles indicates that Uwink is a publicly traded company. Potential investors will need to dig up that info.
Should have been a $1.53 close but they sold 2,000 shares at 1.50 at 16:00.23 - a sale after the bell!
Sounds like it was worth the long drive! Thanks for checking it out.
You all know Monday is a Holiday - No Postal Delivery, etc. BUT the markets will be open but volume may be low.
Hi Raw,
Can hardly wait for you to get up. Sounds like it's time to "smell the roses" and everything should be "rosy" in the future.
“With more than $1.4 billion a day in sales, the restaurant industry’s share of the consumer food dollar is nearly 48 percent,” said Steven C. Anderson, president and chief executive officer of the National Restaurant Association in a press release. “In [2006], the restaurant industry is poised to set a record – over one half-trillion dollars in direct sales. It will also mark the industry's fifteenth year of consecutive real economic growth. As one of the nation's most aggressive job creators, the industry will employ 12.5 million people in 925,000 locations.”
Why don't you send her an e-mail and ask her?
Clue #1 - her name is Nancy Bushnell.
Clue #2 - She lives in the Los Angeles area.
Clue #3 - She has six children.
Clue #4 - she is involved in opening a restaurant.
How many Nancy Bushnells do you think live in the LA area that meet the above criteria?
This guy wanted 10,000 shares and he will be very happy after the opening and it heads over the $2 pps.
I noticed the very low volume during the first couple of hours of trading. I did manage to snag some shares at $1.41 for my IRA. I just broke my rule of never buying OTC stocks in my IRA but I don't think this will be an OTC stock a year from now.
Can't figure this one out - price stuck at $1.41 to $1.42 and then someone bought 10,000 shares at $1.60! Was this buyer just not watching Level II or does he not care what he pays for it?
We don't know that there is a tech problem but if there is, it looks like they are working on a back-up plan. When my friend opened his restaurant we practiced everything only to discover at the opening that our cred card machine would not work!
BUT, we knew how to slide the card thru the old machine. It sure slowed everything down but we were able to handle it.
When running a restaurant you need to be prepared for any/every emergency/problem. Appears to me that UWINK will not open until they have a solution for every possible problem.
I remember when the Chuck E. Cheese opened in our neighborhood. We received an invite for free pizza and fun in the mail as did all our neighbors. Sadly everyone decided to try it out at the same time and it was a mob scene. Waiting over an hour with 3 kids was not too bad as the kids felt the wait was worth it for the pizza and games. We were glad it was free or would not have waited.
Seems they have learned from those experiences and now do invites with reserved times.
Most restaurants set aside an opening budget to include promotions, advertising, etc. If there is a problem it is easy to appease freeloaders than those who have to get out their wallet.
| I only saw one sale at $1.68 and know it was mine!

LaVerne
A few years ago I helped friends get their new restaurant up and running. We asked our staff to invite family and friends for a free dinner. The next night we hosted a free dinner for local business people - by private invitation. The 3rd night was a "soft" opening with no announcement. We were then up and running, having worked out a couple of glitches and re-stocking. It also gave us a feel for the items that would be most popular on the menu. The 5th day was the "Grand Opening" and everything went perfect.
The restaurant is still doing great today.
I just painted an old desk. The paint dried faster! At least a few more MMs are on the action and it has slowly moved off its lows.
I thought it would be of interest to post the price history for CSHD. It could have been bought on 7/6/06 for .10 a share.
It bounced all over during July and August. On July 25th it reached a high of $1.67 before closing at $1.03. It then dropped down to .73 on the 27th. It then traded pretty flat until the NASQ news.
I suspect UWNK will be in for a similiar ride, but it could be worse or better as CSHD has over 200m shares and UWNK won't reach those volume numbers - just hang on! If you don't like roller coasters - get off!

UWNK is all over the place this morning with huge bid/ask gaps. NITE wants to buy shares at $1.48 and sell them at $1.55!

Beer??? I want Champagne!
We are currently up .28 and I would think $2 is very possible tomorrow.
Just like playing poker, I am now "ALL IN"!
I finally got 3,000 more shares at $1.39, still have order in at $1.35 never got filled but if they drop it down I should get it. See it is back over $1.40. Would be a nice close here.
I put in buy orders yesterdat at $1.15 and $1.18, finally upped to $1.20 and $1.25. Still nothing. Upped to $1.27 and $1.28 and finally at $1.30 I got half my fill. Seems we are stuck at $1.32 - mms must be out to lunch!
Thanks so much for the info. I like the numbers and know I will like UWNK.
I am in and thinking of buying additional shares but have a few questions, hope someone has answers.
Does anyone know the square footage of the restaurant and what is their seating capacity?
As a former pizza/sub restaurant owner, these numbers would be important to me.
Looked at Westfield promenade and I would guess the rent would be rather high.
Also, it appears that the restaurant games are free. What about their ability to "flip" the tables if people are sitting there playing for free?? A bunch of free loaders could damage the bottom line!
