Valid question IMHO....
Today's EOD Volume is pretty interesting. Dunno what to think of it.....
tkg, I feel we are going to need more nukes to address our energy shortfalls. Even with battery back-up, wind and solar farms are NOT going to meet our needs. The biggest problems with nukes is the permitting time, cost and construction time, but I think it is going to be the best long-term solution unless more viable technology comes along. Nuclear Fusion would be great, if they can make it work.....

I think vein is an aging long-term investor who is frustrated with the stock performance like all of us. Personally, I think he would like to cash in his chips before his expiration date. I have compassion for that if it is the case. I don't dislike vein, but he's on my VERY long "Iggy" list due to the chronic complaining and lack of substantive posts. If we aren't well north of where we are now next year, I might start bitching too.....
KC, The link I provided isn't working for me. Apparently I should have signed up a couple of days ago. Maybe there will be an archived re-play....
I have NO idea if this has relevance to Lightwave, but I thought I'd share it for our techie-types to take a look at. Feedback is welcomed. I follow NISt in LinkedIn for nuggets related to the NIST Collaboration that was announced over 18 months ago...
"NIST researchers have demonstrated a new way to transmit light signals through a chip. Space on a tiny chip is precious real estate, and the researchers’ new design requires less space and fewer optical components.Waveguides are devices that can direct light from one point to another with little signal loss. Optical circuits on modern chips have multiple layers for guiding light and encoding information on them. However, light from one layer can leak into another layer by jumping over the narrow gap between them.NIST researchers designed a device, called a bound in continuum (BIC) waveguide, that prohibits light from jumping the gap. Moreover, the waveguide can simultaneously direct two separate light waves in the two layers. Conventional optical circuits contain beam splitters that separate the light into two or more waves. In the new design light goes directly to the BIC waveguide, splitting it into separate waves. After manipulating one of the waves with an electrical signal to encode data, the light waves later recombine to form the desired optical signal. The new chip-scale device is made up of a solid slab of lithium niobate material that sits on top of a ridge of silicon nitride. This novel waveguide approach opens up new creative space for designing different types of optical circuits. Find all the details in the researchers’ latest paper, published in Optica: https://lnkd.in/gw2nujep"

This post is for the techies who understand the science and technology behind our investment. The report is over my head. Synopsis posted this a few hours ago:
"A recent review explores the potential of integrated photonics as a solution for next-gen high-performance computing and AI acceleration. The study delves into the advancements in photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and discusses the benefits and challenges of implementation. "

I wonder if IMEC is playing with the Perk in this LiDAR project. Jose Pozo put this on LinkedIn yesterday:
"INSIGHTS on imec’s WORK ON Solid-state LiDAR vs. mechanical LiDAR Optica’s coverage of the recent imec hashtag#ITF2024 in Antwerp, Belgium, continues, and we appreciate the positive feedback we’ve received so far. "

I turned the Iggy thing off for a bit today. Turning it back on quickly cleaned this forum up.. Gotta go check the grill and ice down the beer....
Disregard my question about the ASM replay. The original link kept giving me a page error message early this morning, but the link is working now.
Is a replay of the ASM available onlne yet? I'd like to watch it again. I'm also watching the company website for the associated slide deck. I suspect that review and discussion will keep investors busy through the 3 day weekend.
Given the comments in the December letter to shareholders, I kinda feel like the company fell short of what investors thought might happen yesterday. It is obvious we will need to wait a bit longer but I haven't lost faith...
In December, it sounded like a couple of commercial deals were imminent. Apparently due to dynamics beyond Lebby's control, that wasn't the case. The December letter was over 6 months ago...
I hope whoever does the audio sound check for the meeting double and triple checks it.......

SELL and Don't Don't Look Back!
frobinso, I liquidated most of the green energy mining stocks we discussed a couple of years ago. Some with a modest gain and some with a significant loss. I put all of my remaining equity in those investments into Lightwave. While I'm upside down on this at the moment, I'm not real concerned.
Vein, if you are still sitting on shares that cost you pennies on the dollar, you have nothing to whine about. My cost basis is still in the $7.60 range and I'm not complaining, nor concerned. I'm neck-deep and underwater in this investment, but I'm not losing any sleep over it. I got to this party late. Just be grateful that you arrived at the party while they were still serving the Hors D’oeuvres. BTW, I had an opportunity to take some off the table at $20 and didn't do it. I have nobody to blame for that but myself.
@ X, you said:
I think that there is some unannounced strategery in play, rope a dope type thinking.
I'd probably wet my pants and happily sit in the puddle if Lightwave announces two or three T-1's in a tight consecutive sequence. We don't know what kind of news the company might be sitting on. It appears the company is negotiating with multiple customers. A short burst of multiple contracts over a short period of time would be GREAT if that is a component of the company's strategy.
I look forward to hearing what Lightwave is willing to discuss in the coming week.
I briefly turned my Ignore off to see who was saying what. I turned the Iggy back on and feel like I just cleaned house! Ahhh... It is almost Beer-Thirty in New Mexico. 😂 Looking forward to cooking some SHORT ribs on my Traeger grill this summer.... Dunno when it's going to happen, but I'm convinced it is going to happen. If you are short, that light at the end of the tunnel just might be an oncoming train......
Short term, we need to slow down on decommissioning coal plants, while simultaneously increasing our natural gas energy sources. Long-term, I still think nuclear power is the answer. Wind and Solar are NOT the solution.

Jose Pozo on LinkedIn this morning. I have NOT read the market study report he references.
"Hello from Brussels where I am attending the annual Photonics21 partnership meeting of which Optica is an active participant in the discussions. The organisation released a free 104 page market study on the Global Photonics Industry today. You can download it here: https://lnkd.in/dJnXcMxq. After leafing through it, I asked Photonics21 President Dr Lutz Aschke for his takeaways from the meeting so far and what Europe needs to do next in photonics to remain competitive. Stay tuned. I hope to gather more opinions from this well-attended event. Markus Wilkens"

I suspect Dr. Lebby's use of the word "Granularity" may indicate that over time, the company plans to drop news more frequently, but in small doses of significance. Imagine an Hour Glass... Cumulatively, those nuggets will likely amount to something IMHO. The company DOES need to improve their communication skills with shareholders but I continue to think the company is sitting on a powder keg.
I'm just guessing, but I suspect Lebby meant that we'd get more nuggets of news over the next 6-12 months, but I don't necessarily anticipate any bombshells out of the ASM. I FULLY expect better communication out of the company going forward. We'll see...
I want to see the company start talking about topics they've been unable to talk about.
I'm sure Dr. Lebby will address shareholder concerns at the ASM to the best of his ability and I'm equally sure he has a long list of questions to address.....
"One of the pieces of feedback we do get from our retail investor base and I thank them for sending me questions pretty much every day of the week is we're going to be answering those questions. We'll be addressing those questions and we'll be plotting our future in more granularity than we have."
Blackrock lightened their exposure by 2.28%, but I'm not alarmed by that. It is a small adjustment. Maybe they are moving some of their holdings into other AI investments that appear to be the "Shiny Penny" for now. I'm NOT concerned.... I DO want to see a 10-Q though. Maybe this afternoon, or maybe Monday....

I don't know who was added, but "People" listed on LinkedIn has gone from 47 to 48...

YAWN... It looks like it's "Trading by Appointment Only" today. Off Exchange activity seems to be in a reasonable range around 40%. At least we are still slightly green so far. Maybe we'll get a Q filing tomorrow or early next week. I don't expect to see anything explosive in the Q, but surely it will disclose some new info.....
Scope, I'm encouraged that the company continues to expand their workforce. They would not be doing it without a valid reason. I'm still impressed that they did the NASAQ up-listing organically, without the need for a reverse-split. A RS can be the kiss of death for many companies. The company seems to manage their finances very well. Meanwhile, we wait to see where the revenue to support the team is coming from.... I'm convinced it is coming soon....
As of this morning, there are NO jobs listed on LinkedIn. I can only assume that they have either filled both positions, or they have so many applicants that it is going to take some time to hire the best candidates. I do know that there were over 100 applicants for each position before the job listings were removed.
https://www.linkedin.com/company/lightwave-logic-inc-/jobs/
@Lewrock: Oops! I knew that LOL! Typo.....
I'm hoping we'll see a 10-K this week. Historically, 5/10 seems like a fairly reasonable bet.

Evidently the Product Test Engineer position has been filled. It has been removed from LinkedIn. The Process Equipment Engineer position is still on LinkedIn. Both jobs still appear on the company website, but Lightwave seems to be slow when it comes to updating the company site.

Looking at the company's history over the past couple of years, I'm still convinced we are in good shape. The patent moat has been growing and the company continues to achieve new milestones and performance records with their product offering. Some investors complain about the industry conferences and institutional investor conferences, but they are part of the process to keep Lightwave on people's radar. The facility expansion last year should not be ignored. Neither should all of the new hires and the sequence in which they were hired and the roles they play in the process. It is pretty apparent the company is posturing for growth in the midst of this deafening silence.
Red, Many corporations keep their client list under wraps. I believe we WILL eventually find out who the big customers are, BUT.... Lebby has indicated a couple of times that customer identities would be disclosed under TWO conditions: "Mutual Consent" and "Joint PRs" if I'm not mistaken.
Also, I know that many shareholders continue to talk about a near-term buyout. I don't see that happening anytime soon. IF Lightwave's technology is as good as we believe it might be, there are other verticals to pursue before any buyout negotiations, UNLESS it is for a boatload of money. JMHO....
Jose Pozo's update on today's Optica presentation. Way to go Jose!

I'm just guessing, but I suspect that Mark L might be compelled to give Lightwave more attention and credibility than he has in the past. If we truly "Have the Goods", he's going to have to change his tune. I believe we are in good shape, but it is important that investors are aware that my layman's opinion doesn't carry much weight. Ask me about real estate or jewelry manufacturing and I can probably provide you with a very informed response.
They are installing "Smart Meters" on homes and I suspect it will give the electric utilities a way to throttle down household usage during high demand. Electric utilities are also offering free "Smart Thermostats" to consumers that definitely give the electric utilities to remotely adjust your electric heating and cooling. I don't live in CA, but I know that last year, they were encouraging people to reduce the use of their AC and discouraging them from charging their electric cars during peak demand. Updating our grid needs to be a top priority, but wind and solar power won't satisfy our growing energy needs. Natural gas isn't going away and we need more nukes.....
John, I completely agree. Actually, I read the comments on Mark's post before I shared that link and recognized the names of several people who reacted to his post. I'm not worried about Lightwave.
