I heard a rumor that Amazon was retaining Capstone for the next generation of Alexa and echo.
I heard another rumor capstone Asia is now doing all product innovation for Alphabet/Google.
I heard it at the same place grease heard his rumor.
You were on the edge of trolling, grease, which I appreciated. "Rumors" it doesn't work
invalidates your credibility, Grease.. We need more Salve/thoughtful questioning and disbelief and less trolling.
Grease- you are getting boring. We understand you are reluctant to sign on.
You questioned the existence of a working protocol and they demonstrated not only 8 working units at
the show but multiple prototypes of future units. Their marketing is going well.
They are aligned to start buying stock. They have a serious marketing firm.
They have new offices. They have cash.
NO sign of sales yet- but there is a difference between questioning and being a troll.
You are on the edge.
I think it has to do with Harry Potter and Horcruxes.
That's reasonable. I am in South Florida. Maybe I will drive to the new offices.

CES 2019: Smart Home Round-Up
by Kate Robinson January 14, 2019
Last week was an incredibly exciting one in the world of smart home tech, as the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 saw new announcements, new products and game-changing technologies unveiled at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Now we’ve had a couple of days to process the first wave of fantastic tech news for this year, here’s a rundown of the innovations we’re most excited about:
Google Assistant Connect Revealed
The Amazon Echo currently dominates the smart speaker market (with 41% of the share compared to Google’s 28%), but Google used CES 2019 to announce the launch of a new gadget that will bring its Google Home smart speakers more in line with Alexa.
Google Assistant Connect is an add-on to smart home products - you’d add the chip to your gadgets, they’d wirelessly connect to your smart Google device, and then you’d be able to control them via voice command.
It’s a similar idea to the Alexa Connect Kit, and will provide brands with more options when it comes to deciding how to enable their products.
New Players in Video Doorbell Market
At Future Home Shop, we’ve been big fans of the Ring Video Doorbell since it first launched, so we were excited to see several more video doorbells unveiled at CES 2019.
Netatmo is bringing one out, as is First Alert, with the latter’s offering set to be compatible with both Amazon Echo and Google Home, which means it’ll be a good choice for those of us wanting to take steps towards a fully connected home.
Meanwhile, Maximus unveiled the world’s first dual-camera doorbell (with one camera pointing ahead so you can see and communicate with whoever’s at your door via the accompanying app, and another directed at the ground below) allowing you to keep a closer eye on the parcel that’s been dropped off.
This growing number of players in the video doorbell space shows just how popular smart home security products have become - as well as doorbells, you’ll find a collection of smart home security cameras at Future Home Shop.
Ring Announces Move into Smart Lighting
Following the success that it’s had with its video doorbell, Ring used CES 2019 to announce that it will be launching its own smart lighting products in the near future - and you’ll be able to sync them with your smart doorbell for even tighter and smarter home security, and another step towards a fully integrated smart home.
To start with, Ring will be introducing spotlights, a floodlight with in-built motion sensor and battery-powered, motion-sensing landscape lights, with potential for the range to expand even further in the future.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, who is The Smartest Mirror of All?
Capstone Connected Home unveiled a mirror with a difference at CES 2019 - it's Google-enabled.
The mirror can differentiate between six voices - instead of asking it who’s the fairest of them all, you can ask it for updates on the latest news, the weather outside, or to stick your favourite YouTube channel on.
Hang it in your living room and enjoy updates via the big screen whenever you need them; put it in your bathroom and watch online videos from the bath or while you’re brushing your teeth.
You might feel a little like you’re in an episode of Star Trek the first time you use it, but this looks set to be the future of smart home technology, so it’s time to get used to it.
Oh, it doesn't exist. I get it. You are officially a troll. They were reviewing a promise of a product at CES.
Just propaganda.
Capstone came through with everything they promised. And more.
Best of CES on a shoestring.
They have announced distribution in the first quart '19.
Second quarter would be ok too.

What Marketers Can Learn From CES’ Voice Tech Hits and Misses
Opinion: Smart home innovation needs to land in the right context
By Mike Herrick|January 11, 2019
There are a lot of exciting—and questionable—voice-enabled devices unveiled at this year's CES.
Getty Images
As expected, there was a ton of buzz about voice tech at CES this year, thanks to toilets, shower heads and trash cans you can talk to. There was even a robot that, if asked, pours you a beer.
It’s all about the smart home of the future, which will be reliant on AI. And the future is already upon us: Amazon announced before CES that 100 million Alexa-equipped devices have been sold. While mobile and screen experiences are not going anywhere, it’s an exciting time for the “internet of things,” especially considering how 5G-powered internet speed is arriving in U.S. cities.

Let’s look at a few of the branded hits and misses for CES’ voice-activated smart home reveals. There is something marketers can learn from each of them to help understand the future of not only technology but how consumers and brands should interact in the next decade.
Miss: Kohler’s Numi 2.0
Kohler
This high-end commode, called Numi 2.0, has been around for about a decade. The latest version, which will be available in Q4, made waves in Vegas because it comes powered with Amazon Alexa and costs up to $8,000. The average cost of installing a toilet is $370, so this is quite expensive. The Kohler toilet allows you to speak to complete bathroom-going tasks such as flushing and comes with Alexa-powered speakers so you can verbally request music as if you were sitting on a Sonos. The manufacturer markets the toilet experience as “immersive.”
For the very rich, this fancy product may be appealing, but using the toilet isn’t one of the things everyday consumers are particularly angsty about. Speaking instead of flushing with the push of a finger isn’t going to move the needle for most folks’ personal happiness, so I’m calling this toilet a branding miss.
What marketers can learn
I don’t typically have the time or inclination to listen to my favorite song while using the bathroom. More simply, this product is a good example that not every customer experience needs to be immersive. Technology is best used to aid consumers during truly defining moments.
Part hit, part miss: Moen’s U
Moen
This device is a conservationist’s dream because it allows you to time your showers and easily pause them. Each action limits your water usage, and you can also set the temperature in an automated fashion instead of twisting a pair of knobs back and forth, a first-world frustration most people can relate to. Now you can do all of these things with your voice. Called U by Moen, it costs $1,125, which may be low enough for enough consumers to make a marketplace impact.
There’s a problem, though: A display is a safer, simpler way to do all of those things in an automated fashion. What if voice AI dials up the wrong temperature? It maxes out at 120 degrees, which would be uncomfortable to most people—especially a toddler—for even a few seconds. Yet, Moen achieves a “part hit, part miss” here because even though the voice AI part of the equation is suspect, they at least thought about all of those things. The U by Moen offering comes with a small digital screen to handle all the tasks voice can take care of, and they are achievable via the brand’s mobile app as well.
What marketers can learn
Give your customers options so they can feel empowered. Whether it’s water or brand messages, they want to have control over their experience by selecting preferences. If nothing else, direct-to-consumer challenger brands last year taught us that with their custom-minded subscription products. The same goes with publishers, which are increasingly giving subscribers options for how they are receiving content and interacting with journalism brands.
Hit: Capstone’s Smart Mirror
Capstone
This interactive product hasn’t been priced yet, but its utilities look pretty amazing and offer the kind of experience people want. It’s voice-activated and offers all the touchscreen abilities of a large tablet. The Capstone Smart Mirror could be used in any room of the home but appears designed with the bathroom in mind.

Android mirror – it will actually tell you who’s the fairest of them all
BY DAN N. SCARBOROUGH ON JANUARY 12, 2019 ANDROID, TECH
In this modern time, we are witnessing that more and more of common items are getting digitalized. The concept of smart home from science fiction is slowly turning into reality, as more and more everyday home appliances are getting the smart makeover, from the juicer to the loo. The companies are literally racing in who will make the crazier smart device which is controllable by voice through any possible combination of smart devices and AI assistants. Many companies, including Apple and Samsung, presented and announced all kinds of smart home devices at this year’s CES, which further proves their ambition to be an important factor in homes of the future.
The company called Capstone Connected Home is responsible for one of the most interesting announcements at CES, which is related to a smart mirror. As any other mirror, this one has reflective qualities so you can use it to gaze at your own facial features, but underneath that reflective layer, there is a display.
android mirror
However, this mirror is not based on Google assistant or Alexa, like most of the interactive displays, but actually runs on true Android, with all the Android features like access to the Play Store. This mirror does have full support Google Assistant and you can interact with it by voice commands. This might be a great opportunity to revive the scenes from the Snow White with Google Assistant in place of the magic mirror. The mirror also supports touch, but we don’t think many people would use it that way.
Except for these two methods of control, the Capstone Smart Mirror also has an interface which looks like a big tablet and can be used independently as an entertainment device. There are many ways to use a hub like this in the bathroom, some of them more decent than others.
We’re still don’t have any info about the price, but what we know is that Capstone Connected Home wants to put various models and sizes to sale this year.

CES 2019: Looking to the Future
Lane Long posted on January 16, 2019 | Comment
Vanity or Productivity? Or Both?
Take the Google Assistant-optimized smart mirror from Capstone Connected Home. The mirror—with which most of us spend at least a few minutes every morning—is perhaps the least obvious candidate for AI enablement of any object common to 21st century homes. It offers and requires no adjustment or manipulation, doesn’t become more or less useful with adjustment, and is entirely stationary.
Capstone’s vision for its AI-equipped mirror, however, involves taking advantage of those very same characteristics to unlock value.
Capstone is bringing AI-enabled voice technology to a highly visible product. (Image credit: CNET.)
Capstone is bringing AI-enabled voice technology to a highly visible product. (Image credit: CNET.)
Equipped with a touchscreen that Capstone expects will help people make more productive use of their time getting ready, the mirror can be used in the same way as any other voice assistant. However, the Capstone mirror also doubles as a communication device in the same vein of a smartphone or laptop. Users can toggle between various Google accounts, stream videos, send messages, and set meetings—all while brushing their teeth.
What’s most important about the mirror, though, is the larger trend it exemplifies: an ever-increasing number of access points to our artificially intelligent assistants, and a diminishing likelihood of being disconnected at any point during the day.

Best Smart Home Tech of CES 2019: the coolest IoT gadgets we saw in Las Vegas

Make your dumb home smarter
null
CES 2019 has been a fantastic display of new, innovative smart home gadgets, with everything from robot vacuum cleaners to smart security systems impressing the crowds at the consumer tech show.
With over 26 billion connected devices predicted to be installed globally in 2019, the IoT (Internet of Things) market is a booming industry, and it’s little wonder when you consider just how useful many of these gadgets are – they can turn your dumb home into a smart hub, one that can turn your thermostat up, lock your doors, and play your music with a simple voice command.
CES is, of course, one of the best places to discover emerging smart home devices. Here’s our pick of the best smart home gadgets to come out of the consumer tech show this year.
Capstone Connected Home Smart Mirror here
Capstone Connected Home announced the launch of its Google-enabled Smart Mirror, with both voice and touch screen capabilities at this year’s CES. The Smart Mirror allows you to access Google Assistant, check weather and traffic before you head out for the day, and stream YouTube – handy if you find your daily skincare routine to be a bit of a drag.
You’ll also be able to access social media feeds, and “run downloadable applications”, according to Capstone Connected Home, although further details on which Google Play applications will work with the Smart Mirror are scant right now.
Having Google Assistant built in to the mirror means you can even access Google Drive and type out emails using the touchscreen, getting a head start on your work before you’ve even brushed your teeth.
The Smart Mirror should blend in seamlessly to any home, appearing like a normal mirror when not in use. Capstone Connected Home says that it will be available to buy in the next few months, but hasn’t yet disclosed any pricing information.

Capstone Connected Home is in attendance at this year's Consumer Electronics Show and it is showing off the Capstone Connected Smart Mirror, which only reveals its high-tech features once activated.
The mirror on display at CES 2019 showcases how easy it is to get an update on current traffic conditions, the weather for the day or one's email inbox thanks to the mirror's surface, which doubles as a touchscreen with a built-in full-touch keyboard. For a hands-free approach, the smart mirror also works with Google Assistant and boasts the ability to recognize up to six different voices to relay only the information that is relevant to the individual speaking.
When it comes to managing the mirror, the Capstone Connected Control Hub may be used—it will be the basis for all smart products from Capstone in the years to come.

Hey Townie,
I usually find what you say as interesting.
This is so off the mark that I am not sure where your thinking comes from.
Maybe you are a buyer looking for cheap shares.
He builds a company with 40m in sales on a shoestring.
He sees the future, recognizes it is limited and a shrinking market,
On next to nothing builds an entire new line with cutting edge technology.
He got Alexa approved in a year? That's crazy. On a shoestring.
I can't imagine what it took for a tiny company to get approved by Google.
You need to pass google review and google security review to get approved.
Does so as he totally cleans up balance sheet and share structure in advance.
Develops a new line with tremendous potential, gets unbelievable
marketing and coverage for free-- look on line, the mirror is everywhere.
Gets unbelievable coverage-- CNET, tech news, international news- all for free.
I am certain he is meeting with distributors everywhere.
He will not promote until he can distribute. He will not set up the company to disappoint
when he is set to explode. Not only the mirrors are set to go- but they refer to multiple components.
The early reviews are awesome.
I think Stewart is a gifted CEO who has set up his company to grow exponentially.
The lightbulbs were a bust but he moved on and cut his losses. He has continued to clean up the balance sheet. They have money in the bank to market and develop new lines.
I am a Wallach fan.
Hi Salve,
Just read the whole third q report.
1. Never reallly thought about it but eight cents a share in Cash and no debt at all. Pretty clean.
2. They increased the set aside for buybacks to 1m and opened a trading desk to buy.
3. They increased their credit line to buyback shares from 750 to 1M
4. They increased their physical space.
5. My hope is the reason there was no share buyback as they were preserving resources as they transition from eco-i-lites and such to the new product line. Pretty smart to me.
6. But as always, could be another lightbulb bust.
7. But if it is a real product, they are set to explode.
Look at the client list for the new PR firm. They certainly don’t need our 12k a month. And they must have reviewed the new product line before committing to do the PR.
Alll in alll- mark me down as the outlier. I think Stewart is super smart and has his shareholders in mind. Our future and his are aligned. The lightbulbs were a bust so he moved on. I frankly can’t wait to see what the new product lines holds. I might be disappointed but I am very excited about 2019.
I call a 5-10 bagger by jan 1, 2020.
Capstone Companies, Inc. Doesn't sound like more flashlights.
I like the sound of that. I believe they will pull this off.
