That sounds like a plan.
UVE: Kim, the stock scouter rating is now 8 so if you don't mind updating the board. Thanks
UVE: Yup. Looks like someone is buying. Volume strong this morning.

Looks like a buy to me.
UVE is trading so thin right now. Any major volume would move it easily.
That is one hell of a pornstache on David Price! Thanks for the good laugh Rain.
UVE: 25000 share block went through yesterday afterhours.
UVE: Started writing policies in South Carolina per the press release this morning. Great News.
uve: DIVI in my account as of now.
Littlefish:
Work is crazy busy and the little one keeps me on my toes. Another hurricane season with nothing excepts a little wind and rain. We really have never had much here at all except for 2004 and 2005. Thats from 1977 to 2008. You can see that the odds are really in our favor but you never know when an Andrew is going to take your entire town out.
This post gave me a good laugh this morning. Idiot on the phone is an understatement.
UVE
The way I figure it, you had to buy shares by the close on Wed. 3 Trading days later and you own the shares on Dec 2. I expected more of a pullback today but was pleasantly surprised by the lack of one. It just goes to show you that in this market, nothing makes sense. At least this went in our favor.
Do you have to buy today to get divi? I am already loaded but just wondering since Thanksgiving is tomorrow.
DIT: Whats up with this one? PE now 2.5. This market is crazy.
UVE: This market is unbelievable.
SOLR $17 just a few months ago and a good Q.
They just let water out of Lake O last month. The lake has gone from a record low of 8 feet last year to over 15 feet (before release) We have had a ton of rain this year. The Panhandle might be a different story but we don't need any down here. On the bright side, when they release the Lake water the snook go crazy.
UVE: announced earnings and tanked.
This is where the earnings were hit. .12 for Faye "claims". The only thing I am wondering is if these claims will actually be paid or if the majority of them will be thrown out because they are flood damage. We may see much of this money never leave the company.
UVE: bbotcs I can not try and pretend to understand the accounting even though I wish I could. I just know that the press release today said this. Not sure what they do with the money if its not paid out in the future.
"Except for incurred losses and LAE of approximately $5.3 million, or 4.1 percent of direct earned premium, related to Tropical Storm Fay in the third quarter of 2008, the Company's loss experience did not vary significantly during the 2008 period compared to the 2007 period."
UVE: Claims from Faye accounted for a significant chunk.(about .12 I think?) These are just claims though. I have a feeling the company will not be paying many of those claims because most of the damage was done by flooding, which isn't covered.
MSGI pretty good stuff.
They will have paid .49 this year.
Take some if you need some but if you got the shares at $1.90 and hurricane season is almost over your prob ok. Should be in the clear to let it ride for a while. Ok course I am just Joe the Salesman and should not have their opinion taken as investment advise.
UVE Looks like some of that money is starting to come over.
UVE: Is it possible to pump a stock with a 2.5 PE and 10% divi?
Tuna UVE volume is finally coming back.
UVE Just broke the 3.41 resistance level. Onward and Upward.
UVE moving again today
UVE: 3.14 X 3.30
UVE: 3.14 X 3.30
UVE: The PE is 2.5 and they have paid .29 in divi's so far this year. They recently were approved to write policies in Hawaii, North Carolina and South Carolina. They have applied to Texas and Georgia and are awaiting approval. They have been brought down by the financial mess but have no mortgage investments etc...Mostly Cash investments. Worth a look.
UVE: Glad to see it. Its been a while since it moved consistently like that.
bbotcs:
Ok so the more the consumer saves the worse the recession. I agree, but I think in the long run this is what the consumer needs to learn. Its what are parents and grandparents learned and still practice to this day. I don't mind a terrible recession if it teaches my spoiled generation what it means to save and be frugal. Down the road we will be way better off.
UVE: I agree. While rates will continue to be much less than what they were a few years ago, this can be offset by the additional states. Hopefully by this time next year we will start to see the rewards to these moves.
bbotcs:
UVE is already approved for Hawaii and South Carolina.
Flooding isn't covered. Its a separate policy and is part of the Federal Flood Program. Now they could have some claims with wind damage in the areas around the Lake that saw some of that.
Unbelievable. I hope they all go down along with Frank, Dodd and the rest of the other do nothing empty suits up there in Washington.
Outstanding.
