Hey, sorry if I sound like a complete newb but I never really played with equities much. I got tied up in this XMET/HOMU reverse merger a few years back as a "David Lazar SPAC play" in talking to someone who obviously didn't know wtf he was talking about. I'm sure these types of deals had some successes, but I should have done my own research and not gotten so trigger happy based on someone's opinion. Anyway, I'm holding some 5k shares at a ~$4,500 loss for the past 3 years. I would appreciate some advice.. I cannot find any SEC filings on HOMU or XMET anymore, I can not find anything. The old company website is defunct & expired, now some Chinese gambling domain. I see people speaking of not being able to trade it? Assuming it's been delisted. This is the only site talking about it.
I'm not sure I could even sell these shares if I actually wanted to? No point in realizing the loss other than for tax purposes, which sounds fine - if I could unload them? Otherwise do I just hang onto them and wait for a miracle that doesn't seem to be coming? Any advice is appreciated.
