rmb, I agree. The last two "random" draws for judges were Dyk (Dick) and Reyna. Statistically impossible. Well, not impossible but I have a better chance of winning a billion dollar lottery. Let's just pray that we don't draw those arrogant condescending AH's again.
whalatane, thanks. I am not pushing him to use V, just providing some information and for him to ask his cardiologist. I did mention the relative low side effects of increased bleeding and afib. I by no means would recommend a Rx medication as I have no medical training. I don't even stay at Holiday Inn Express as I am more of a Hilton guy.
Thanks again for all the information.
whalatane, I spoke with my uncle yesterday afternoon regarding his artery blockage found by the cath scan. At this time he doesn't have all the answers but will see his cardiologist next Wednesday. The only thing they did immediately after the scan was put him on a blood thinner and beta blockers. He was surprised they did not go the stent route but will ask about the type of plaque and stents with his cardiologist. I sent him information re. V and he will ask his cardiologist about getting a Rx for that as well. I will respond with more details as soon as I receive them. Thanks again to all for the responses.
antiblue chip, thanks for this chart info relative to V and various plaque reductions.
whalatane, thanks again for your experience and knowledge. I will call this afternoon to obtain more information. Had to finish my morning round of golf.
whalatane, thanks again. I'll find out.
whalatane, I will get some facts and get back to you. Thanks for the response.
antibluechip, thanks for the information. I am glad you have done so well through your treatments with statins and V. This is actually for my uncle who normally stays pretty active and plays golf a couple of times a week. I will certainly pass this on.
Thanks again. GLTU.
Curious if any of the medical personnel on this site can give me any insight as to a possible benefit of V for an 84 year that had a cath scan which indicated 87, 95 and 99% blockage in his heart. Doctors want to avoid surgery and treat with medicines. This individual also has diabetes and it seems to me that V would be a possible add-on to the treatment. Any input from the medical personnel on this board would be appreciated before going to the doctor with this. TIA
JR, remember, they own a total ~33+M shares but only report some as Sarrisa and the others through some of their companies.
Denisk, yes I saw that a couple of weeks ago and posted that, however, isn't it normal for Amarin to send out a press release in advance of an earnings call? I haven't seen anything from them.
north40000, that's great. I just hope you were loaded up with the BMR shares. And maybe now you don't own any. :) Sounds like a good future for BMR.
CaptBeer, not a bad gig if you can get one like that. I am glad he is out and Holt is in. We will of course have to see if results improve but from my opinion, things are shaping up more positively than prior management. JMO
whatalane, thanks for that information. It will be interesting to see the overall world market pricing for 'fish oil' will be. It seems odd that Peru is where 'most of the fish' come from for the supplements. I know other posters have much more knowledge on this than I have.
hayward, I found this.

Amarin (AMRN) will report earnings of for Q4 2023 on February 14, 2024.
seve333, yea, I bought too much after my initial 10,000 at 2.85 prior to Adcom. When it jumped, I added more and foolish me did not sell prior to Dusaster. So, I have a higher cost basis but plan on picking up additional shares to lower it more and take advantage of what I believe to be a AD win. Whatever that is, it should be more than 1.30.
Laurent, yes I agree not to expect tremendous results as the veteran's study via Brave was a really small test group and for a short period of time beginning in the covid timeframe. But if they come out with something positive that says it should be further studied, that should help. I also agree on the Mitigate as there could / should be something positive to pull from that study however both have been crickets thus far.
And the multiple presentations is a positive as well. GL
golf stud, I'm in the same position with 100,000 shares but my cost basis is higher than I would like to see. ~$6.50, so I want to add some more at a much reduced basis. I believe (hope and pray) that we get out at $15-$20 SP within 12-18 months. I can start living again. GLTA
RMB, I seem to have the same luck (bad) with this stock. So maybe you and I should buy a small amount, then when it drops, jump in for a larger purchase. I keep thinking I should average down some more, plus get more shares and wait for the eventual rise. Hope is not a good strategy, but hope and prayer is all I have at this point. I believe things are turning more positive but may wait for a catalyst to make me feel better about buying more. GLTA
I have been sitting patiently waiting for another buy point to add more shares. Depending on how you look at it, ~60 days ago I could have purchased nearly twice as many shares and have a 80% gain. Within the past 5 days, I waited for a small drop after the stock was propped for the 10-day >$1.00 to prevent delisting. And there have been no real fallbacks. Now at $1.35 I sit looking for movement. I guess I need to bite the bullet and purchase at this point but was just checking general sentiment from the board. FFS was projecting a run down Lombard St with an inverted gaslamp at the bottom while Marketplace said wait for a lower entry and today it says it's a buy.
Decisions, decisions.
Laurent, the RWE referencing a retrospective Veteran's Health Administration Observational Cohort does look interesting. And, it is a 45 minute talk which looks more promising than the 10 minute talks. Is this the ACC on April 6-8, 2024?
JR, I wasn't going to waste my time replying but changed my mind. First of all I did not assume a buyout in 2024. I was responding to a post by Triple88 and I stated that hopefully a BO would occur late 24 as most of us are weary of the struggles of Amarin. I know exactly what Holt stated at the JPM conference about the timing of stock buybacks beginning Q3 if they get shareholder approval at the AGM. BB would take place over time including into early 25. There are many factors that need to occur before a BO, and actually, the BB of stock is not one of them. I think most of us agree a BB would show a positive sign for the company but not a necessary factor like EU market growth, China and ROW growth, other indications, possibly GV for US which will show growth in revenue which is essential.
Triple88, NP. I would love to see 1.60 soon, but I would also like to purchase more shares prior to that. But it appears that things are beginning to improve and hopefully late '24 we'll all be very happy with a BO. GL
Triple88, that was 1,315,200 at 1.32. I wish 1.6, but maybe not. I am looking to puchase more early next week. It's one of the few times I have shown patience with AMRN and of course it's now been on a nice run up from .75 from 3-4 weeks ago.
couldbebetter, I remember the days (pre-Sarrisa) when PDude posted a lot of good information regarding V and the interworkings of the Canadian system and really some positive and informative posts. But when Sarissa got involved and the board seat issues, PWO getting voted out and Sarissa gaining 7 seats which led to the walkout of the former board, PDude became very negative. I would like him to be back as well as I did enjoy his comments prior to AD. JMO
Jasbg, thanks for the clarification. It certainly would be great if we can differentiate V and have FDA step up and remove the generics approvals. The problem then would be meeting demand. I'd take that problem.
Jas, thanks for the post. I need some clarification on the Vascepa approvals.
1G approved in 2012
500MG approved in 2017
Amarin received FDA approved in late 2018 by a 16-0 vote from the FDA. Of course DU struck those high TG patents down.
What are the prior ?
TIA
CBB, I hope you are right on your assessment of Europe sales. I agree with you and actually believe the revenue should be much higher than that once more countries approve and begin using V. Then, China and ROW has good potential as well with through partnerships or however they determine how to best go to market. Then the US has much more upside than we are seeing today. Whether they have to go to GV to gain more share and / or the market for V grows and they can hold the 57% share. Any additional indications would also be an upside. Having said that, execution is essential for any of this to occur but I believe AD can extract more potential and then find a buyer that sees and wants to maximize the power of V.
Capt, again, thanks for all you do in pushing Vascepa/Vazkept to the forefront of the medical world. We all owe you a huge Thank You for your efforts.
Denisk, thanks for the response. Hopefully GS will soon jump back in a big way.
Whalatane, you continue to send negative comments. There are a lot of insurance companies that have V as their standard. And as stated by Holt, GV is an option to rollout if management feels it is needed for the US to maintain and grow marketshare. KP does not control the V market in the US. And as to your comment yesterday 'rather spend $50M on a buyback, you would rather spend that $50M on another study to verify LOE rating which will take some years to come up with the same conclusion that the 5 year RIT study showed. V works. CaptBeer succintly sums it up. "It's the EPA Stupid". Numerous articles have come out rebuking the MO theory. That information just needs to get more doctors attention. JMO
caddiedad, i agree. Piss on GS, but my prior statement / question was regarding whether GS would continue to short this 'penny stock'. I guess when you look at the low volume and pennies made up / down, would a large firm like GS be involved. I was told they would not but asked the question of this board for any response as I am not an expert .
Thx
JR, yes, you are correct. I was just stating the earliest they stated they would 'possibly' begin the buybacks as it will be staggered into early 2025.
Thx
LBL, I always appreciate your insightful posts. Regarding the GS vindictive position post $100M cash raise at approxiate $18 / sh, I spoke to an investiment advisor regarding GS being pissed and looking for revenge by shorting when the price dropped to ~$4, and his comment to me was that they would not spend time on a stock with such a low sp price. Could you or anyone share your knowledge of this type situation.
TIA
lizzy241, I believe they stated that the shareholder vote would be early Q2 and maybe buybacks beginning early Q3.
ilovetech, I agree with you and posted 2-3 weeks ago regarding this when someone brought up 'fraud on the court'. I know Marjac and north4000 invested a lot of time and effort into the appeals but were essentially pissed on by the court via Dyk and Reyna. But if fraud is a legitament course to pursue, it seems Denner and the new Amarin board would be all over it.
Thanks DMC8. It's nice to have an article that specifically mentions Vascepa in a positive way in the reduction of heart attacks and strokes and death. We certainly need more of these positive articles to get more doctors and patients informed of Vascepa benefits.
Birdrockboy, thanks for the confirmation. I hope we can hold / increase sp, add more institutional investors, begin share buyback along with positive movements in US, Europe and ROW and we should see much needed improvement in share price. I am much more optimistic with Holt leading the company. I am prayerful that they get this positive and receive a good BO ($15+) as soon as possible as there are so many other opportunities lost with this money tied up.
Per this morning prelim results for Q4, and the discussion re. share buyback, he stated that a special vote of shareholders would be scheduled as quickly as possible in Q2, then and / if approved would proceed quickly for approval required in UK. But then, on the JPM call did I hear correctly that the share buyback might be early 2025? Can anyone substantiate if that is what he said? I'm not certain the 2025 date was tied to the actual BB or something else.
TIA
lizzy241, looks like an approximate 700K share buy just went through Can you see that?
