Cabos, many things get said on message boards that probably would have been better left alone. We all know the consequences of the projections that were made that were overly optimistic. In any on-going investigation, there really shouldn't be any discussion because of the possibility of compromising the case. I haven't done any research into the police report of the alleged breakin, but I think under the Sunshine Law you can probably contact the Pinellas County Sherriff's office and find out the particulars of whatever information is public. They keep records of all reported crimes. I don't know how much detail is on record but you might do a search. You can start by going to Rich's profile to find the post where he talked about the breakin and that will give you a date. Personally, I think the new policy of not revealling too much on these message boards is a much more professional way to carry on business. I understand completely why Rich might have felt the need to defend himself against the attacks made against him on these boards but I've seen how people have taken excerpts from my own posts and twisted what I was saying to present the point in a negative way. SH
One thing that they discussed re sales was that they were adding three more sales people to cover areas of the country that are not currently covered. They also said that they "owned the saltwater market" but their intent is to now aggressively go after the fresh water market as well. My comment to them about that was that if the cameras performed so well in saltwater, which is really hard on equipment, how much better would they hold up in fresh water???
Also, the production delays were explained, GE couldn't provide enough bulbs and there were problems with the boards (a chip was faulty I believe) and something else I can't remember right now. Those things caused the problems with the delays and everything has now been resolved. So basically they have the money and the capability to manufacture as many of these cameras as they sell. SH
Too funny, Gotin, I just posted my question on your take on the meeting and when I got back to the board you had already posted. TOO FUNNY!!!!! And thanks for the compliment. SH
Gotin....what was your take on the meeting last night? TIA, SH
I'm assuming that not all of the backorders are going to be confirmed. Nothing was said at the meeting about the how many are going to be confirmed but again I would assume that some are going to be cancelled. They are still in the process of contacting the people that have ordered them. These figures are probably conservative as the sales team are getting new orders. I'm relieved to see that they are being conservative in their estimates so as not to make the mistakes of the past.
Makes me all the more confident in the management team. SH
I would like to add that the management team was VERY PROFESSIONAL and ENTHUSIASTIC. They believe in the prodict and it's potential. They are expecting great things for 2002. The parking lot systems could be HUGE. JMPO. SH
OK....I'm up and here to tell that after all anticipation, the meeting was pretty anti-climactic. No major announcements, just straight forward, professional presentations by the management team. I saw Gotin there and since he is of the accountant ilk I'll wait and let him discuss the financial details when he chooses to put his two cents worth in. Wasn't a huge crowd but enough people showed up that some had to stand.
Here are some excerpts from the hand-out that we got at the door:
No comment on the Class Action (I've never been involved in any law suits but I'm pretty sure the attorneys have stressed that there should not be any discussion about this as it might jeopardize the case, that's Seahags take on this not from the handout) It is being handled by Foley & Lardner of Tampa
Also, the company cannot comment on the "non-public, fact finding inquiry authorized by the US SEC to privately investigate a nummber of issues. The attorney firm of Hamilton, Lehrer & Dargon of Boca Raton, FL is representing the Company in this matter.
As a result of the new rules of full disclosure and mgmt's policy specific numbers regarding such items as production numbers, gross margins, line item costs cannot be disclosed or discussed. ...would compromise our competiveness in the marketplace and potentially violate confidentiality agreements of which the company is a participant.
Vender agreements in various stages of processing with West Marine, Costco, Supercircuits, Smarthome, Sports Authority, Jimmy Houstons, AllProBass, Hweartland America, Skymall and 700plus dealers in the US and overseas.
Still reconfirming and processing $9,000,000 in backorders and sales will be repoted in 10Q filings this year.
Parking Lot Surveillance system: Major retailers, mall management co's fast food restaurants and key Fortune 500 companies have been contactedand are being presented with proposals A key major retailer has already confirmed the purchase and installation of initial system for analysis.
Home Plug Alliance....the company is currently reviewing an issue regardingthe protection of proprietary patents, which may be compromised as a result of executing the membership agreement.
1.5 Million Private Placement....was limited to executive mgmt team, board of directors, sales reps and founder. Letters of intent have been received and the private placement is in the process of being executed. All details will be reported as required in the 10Q upon completion.
Why no proxy: The board of directors made the decision not to request and process a proxy to significantly reduce the costs involved in holding the annual meeting of shareholders to elect the board of directors. Furthermore, it is not required by the Company Articles of Incorporation of the State of Nevada or the Company BY-Laws. As stated in the the information statement mailed to stockholders a quorum shall be confirmed at this meeting to elect four directors by an affirmative vote of plurality.
Mike Ditka is contracted through 2002.
They are currently expecting the sales of cameras to be at least 20,000 through the end of the year 2001. This was said at the meeting, not taken from the handout.
So there it is. SH
Yep that's about how Beast behaves when it gets on on rant. TOO FUNNY. Thanks for the laugh. SH
A boy goes to his father asking him to explain the difference between theoretically and realistically. The father suggests that he go to his mother and his sister and ask them if they would have sex with the next door neighbor for $5,000,000 and then come back with their answers. Both mother and sister after giving the question some consideration answered "yes". When the boy returned with the answers to his father, his father then explained that "theoretically, we're sitting on $10,000,000 bucks... realistically, we're living with two whores." LOL SH
FG.....re realism, I have a story to tell about the difference between theoretically and realisticly. It's more appropriate that I post it on EXHIB so you've got to go there to read it. SH
Don't you dare!!!!! We need balance and objectivity here to remain credible. Thanks in advance. SH
I think that the parking lot concept is going to be the money maker. Security for shoppers is a major concern. As I said in a previous post, the advantage to the Secureview system is that the mall maintenance people can have a stash of cameras on hand to replace defective parts and save time and money by not having to wait for repairs.A camera goes down and with "a simple twist of the wrist" the problem is fixed. SH
I am such an idiot, I almost bought more last week when this thing was so cheap. I've always had faith in the product and was thrilled with the mgmt team. I let the bashers scare me from buying more. Oh well, live and learn. SH
I'm kicking myself in the behind for not buying more last week. SH
Greetings from Lackland AFB. I'm sooooo proud of my son!!!! SH
Ender, keep the remote in hand while watching Billie Elliot. The sound people did a terrible job. The dialect is thick and I had to rewind several times to catch all of the lines. The other problem is that you have to keep thevolume up high to here the dialogue but when they switch to the music, if you let the volume remain at the same level, it will blst you into space.Other than that the film is delightful. Enjoy, SH
<OT> I'm off to Texas for a long weekend. Son is graduating from boot camp. I'm sorry I won't have access to a PC just when things are starting to get interesting again, but I'm really looking forward to some R&R. Just in case my favorite poster is still around and reading this board,I want to let it be known that my house will not be left unattended (just in case he gets any ideas, we know he has been accused of breakins and we know that he knows my real name and could very easily find my address. I'm curious about how he did get my real name without hacking into my system but that's a question for another day) I've got a very big, smart and well trained dog and let's not forget about "beast". My housesitter is a trained boxer (not the dog) but a human boxer that retired undefeated. So I just wanted to say au revoir and will see you all on Monday. Hoping to come back to some very good news. Off we go, into the wild blue yonder. SH
Bill, I'm not trying to be confrontational here, personally, I respect you unlike some of the other posters here. That is the reason that I asked you to take the lead on behalf of the posters here on IHUB in organizing the pre-open house meeting. However, I ask you again, as this point confuses me.....knowing what you knew going into the open house in January, what made you buy more shares (and if my memory serves me correctly, quite a sizable purchase)????? SH
I'm sure it's not as cute as my babies were but I have a feeling the payback to the parents is gonna be a lot more than what my two darlings are gonna be for me. So far all they have done is cost me a ton of money, but that's ok....money isn't everythingand what they have given back has been priceless SH
I don't care who's trading as long as we continue to remain up at the end of the day. If we continue this pattern I'll be doing the Happy Dance real soon. I'm hoping for great Q's this Q and next. That should be enough to get this baby off the ground. AND NO, I don't have any inside info. I'm basing my opinion on the fact that we've been told that the production issues have been resolved and they are filling backorders. Once the revenue starts "priming the pump" (no pun intended..just quoting Rich from the open house) I hope to see them marketing this product like they did last year with the Ditka spots on The Weather Channel. And yes, according to Rich, Ditka is still their spokesperson and will be for some time. SH
Paul, another advantage to using the Secureview system in parking lots is that when a camera goes down all they have to do is get a maintenance man to put in a new one. No need to call for service from the company as they can have a supply of spare cameras on hand. No need for a delay in waiting for your service guy to get around to fixing the problem also no need for COSTLY service contracts. SH
You got that right, Bigbizz. Don't do any deep sea fishing so I don't know the answer as to the application of the underwater sealight. I do know that they'll have to sell a lot of them to match the revenue they're gonna make on Secureview so that's the product I care about. Everything else,IMO is GRAVY. Don't get me wrong, I think they should sell every product they gve with equal enthusiasm, but Secureview is what's gonna bring the BIG money in :) SH
Bigbizz....Any light will draw baitfish. You'll notice down here that a lot of people work the docks that have spot lights on them because there are a lot of Snook that hang out underneath the docks at night. Ask FG. Often you can see the water swirl. I consider this "cheating" but my husband doesn't agree. SH
Thanks Bill but even with the "want to believe" factor I still don't understand why you bought more shares after the open house if you felt that your questions were not adequately addressed. I wish that I had taken notes at the open house because there were so many questions asked (and it was SOOOOO COLD that towards the end all I wanted to do was to get to some heat) I cannot remember the specifics of many of the answers. Perhaps I should have smuggled in a tape recorder but I'm too honest for my own good :) Hope they have the AC blowing for the SH meeting. Good luck with SUND and yes you did PM me about that. SH
Bill, I asked you for your help in coordinating our pre open house meeting because you had more experience in the finance community than I. My question for you is that once you had identified this company as a fraud, why did you proceed to invest in this company??? I'm confused. SH
FG, you're welcome and thanks for the tutorial....Love the self portrait LOL. SH
Ender, I posted to you on the SEVU board the I finally rented "Billy Elliott" (sp?) Cute film. I loved the father and the whole family for that matter. Grandma was adorable. At first I was concerned that the father was going to be another Irish drunken dad cliche and was relieved when the plot did not take us there. The characters all developed profoundly throughout the film.
I also rented "Finding Forrester" F Murry Abraham sure plays a great *******. Remember him in Amadeus?
FG..... how do you get that / mark above the "e" in words like cliche????
HAPPY FATHERS' DAY to all you Dads out there!!!! :) SH
<OT> Ender, I finally rented "Billie Elliot". I LOVED IT!!!! Thought the Dad in the film was really cool. I also rented "Finding Forrester" 'nother GREAT FILM. See you on EXHIB??? SH
Matt, are you talking about the "NEW FEATURES" ? If yes, mine is fine. SH
HAPPY FATHERS' DAY to all the Dads out there :) SH
<OT> HAPPY FATHERS' DAY TO ALL OF YOU DADS
Hope you all have (had) a wonderful day!!!!!
Anybody have a cool father's day story to share? SH :)
Hi Stevie, I read your comment about wanting the multi-camera system and I'm not sure that that is available yet for the homeowner. I kinda remember reading or hearing something about that. Anybody? I've got to run out for awhile but if nobody answers by the time I get back I'll call SEVU myself. That's pretty cool about your neighbors wanting one too. I think that was part of the marketing theory from early on.....once one person in the hood got one everybody else would want one too. Perhaps Rich ain't so dumb after all ;) SH
Bill, I admit that my investing experience is limited but I don't think I told you that SEVU was the first time I ever purchased stock. As a matter of fact, the first stock I bought was, against the advice of my broker, a BB stock. I actually got lucky....got in @ .50 and sold @3.50. SEVU was the first debenture I bought. Nobody forced me into it. If I didn't know all of the paticulars about what a debenture was then that's MY fault. There were lots of professionals I could have asked. I averaged in around .75 so I'm still pretty confident that I can make a little money on this. The new corporate offices are huge, beautiful view.
Regards, SH
I just called The Sports Athority in St Pete and the girl that answered the phone said they had Seaview Products in stock including a camera. Haven't been there in person but I might take a ride over and see for myself. Gotta get my husband something for father's day.
Hi FG, maybe next time WE'LL be the ones catching all the fish :) SH
The reason for me PMing the posters first from the post is to give them an opportunity to "fix it" and then resubmit. As I said, I do it as a courtesy. SH
Franks....give me a break. I told you that the reason that I did not send your post back to you via PM was that you OBVIOUSLY had it saved. This idea of mine to send every post back to give the poster the opportunity to fix their post was MY OWN DOING. NOT RULES OF THE BOARD. Do you want to know what I've been agonizing over the past few hours while you babies were whining about your juvenile posts being removed???? MY MOTHER IN LAW IS IN ASSISTED LIVING!!!!!! She is rapidly LOSING HER MIND. SHE IS FALLING DOWN THREE TIMES A DAY. So, I hope you'll excuse me for not paying attention to your TRIVIAL complaints while I'm dealing with the REAL WORLD. I'll stop now before I TOU myself. SH
Franks, I cannot speak for the other director/chair of this board BUT IMO you started out by talking about people dragging someone's name through the mud and proceeded on to further "personally attack" a fellow poster on this board. FURTHERMORE...it was completeley off topic. If Admin chose not to reinstate it then I'm sure it was a TOU violation. You obviously still have a copy of your post since you've reposted it so I'm not going to take the time to go back and PM you with your message that I am now going to remove for a second time. SH
P.S. I did not remove it the first time. Also, you should be aware that there is a limit on the amount of posts that you have deleted before you are put on suspension.
I'm not sure that everyone knows the new method I use for deleting posts. What I have started doing is sending the post back to the poster before deleting it so that they have an opportunity to "fix it" and then resubmit it. I don't ALWAYS do this if the post I remove is removed for obvious reasons and has nothing in it other than attacks etc. THIS TAKES A GREAT DEAL MORE TIME and I don't think other directors/chairpeople on other boards do this with their posters. I respect the posters here and that is why I go the extra mile to provide them with this courtesy. PLEASE...respect me as well or I probably will dicontinue this courtesy if too many posters continuously violate the TOU and it starts taking too much time. I HAVE A LIFE OUTSIDE OF THESE BOARDS and really don't wish to be a babysitter at my age. Thanks for your attention, SH
TA, IMO, I think that Q2 and Q3 reports will tell the tale. That IS for what MY opinion is worth. Some would probably say "not much" :) SH
I shouldn't be doing this but....if you want to spin this article another way we can start here, "Ditka told...business relationship with Seaview consisted of appearing in an informercial and he remains a stockholder." The fact that he still remains a stockholder shows a high level of confidence in the product and the company. (assumption)
The fact that Ditka DID appear in the informercial gave Seview the right to use his name. "The company's continued use of his name is an issue that is currently being resolved..." could be he just wants a few more shares for the use of his mug on the website.
So you see we can spin this any way we want to. SH
Quotes taken from "The Business Journal"
I'm going to bed, but....if you wish, I'll be happy to discuss this further in the morning. That is if you feel there is anything else about this issue that needs to be discussed. SH
