Started scaling in today @$7.98. Been waiting for a good entry.
See some familiar names on this board.
GLTA
Thanks for the thorough reply.
I’m hoping that’s the path that unfolds.
Sometimes I get torn about the pharmaceutical side of the business.
High risk but potential huge reward.
Will be interesting to see it play out.
Serious question about 007:
As we know, clinical trials are expensive. As CV tries to bring this drug to market how will the company pay for said trials?
Is management planning on waiting for revenues/profits to fund the endeavor or could there be a dilutive event to raise capital?
I’m not claiming they’re gonna dilute the stock. However, I have questions about how the path to market unfolds.
I’m assuming part of the answer lies in how quickly they will try to bring it to the US market.
I tried asking this same question several days ago but it was in the midst of the nuclear war going on between the two boards.
So, I’m trying again.
Regardless of what some believe there are people invested in both companies.
Any serious replies greatly appreciated.
People see what they want and omit the rest...but you already know that.
Too many ‘passengers’ fall head over heels for a company imo.
Once that happens all legitimate insight/perspective is lost.
Two nice days in a row..hopefully turning the tide.
Close HOD would be awesome.
I believe they used the cash for a new digital marketing campaign and the new building to expand operations.
They can’t sit on the cash forever can they?
Well they did just uplist to the TSX.
Perhaps you missed that?
CWBHF institutional ownership = ~$3MILLION USD
CVSI institutional ownership = ~$320k USD
These numbers are as of 8/15/19.
Telling isn’t it?
I completely agree with you here.
It’s a high risk/high reward item.
My main concern would be how to pay for it.
Would they be willing (or be forced) to dilute the stock to pursue this goal?
That’s my biggest concern.
Serious replies only.
I’d prefer this not be poisoned by the pissing contest currently going on here.
I keep seeing you post about this RS...where are you seeing this?
Can anyone dispel the hexane issue?
Sincere and serious inquiry.
If CV is still using hexane would that put California in jeapordy?
Does gras get around that or could Cali shun the products altogether?
Lol. He claims CW was pure luck...really?
Master growers went through the painstaking process to develop a highly complex strain of cbd rich hemp in order to save a little girls life. Back to the drawing board many times to get it right- and it worked.
They’ve parlayed that into the most recognized brand in the cbd space. And you’re correct- CW is a brand all the way around.
CW is living proof that CBD (cannabis, really) isn’t a fad and there’s untapped potential. CW will be pioneers moving forward with genetic advancements most people would never even consider.
It’s almost like believing the Stanley Brothers just put some seeds in a guys dorm room closet and cured epileptic childhood seizures by accident.
CBD is the tip of the cannabis iceberg. Many other cannabinoids will soon see the light of day. They may very well cut into the straight CBD revenues in the future.
But between the two only one company has the knowledge and capability to produce whatever they want/need moving forward.
I learned early on as a youngster making questionable decisions that in the cannabis business you need two things: great genetics and cash- CW has both.
They have..which is why I’ve grown less confident lately.
Hopefully they can control it near term.
I hear ya on the other too. Was just throwing a few out there that have been moving away from otc.
GL
The complaining irked me as well.
CW CC showed a clear plan for growth regardless of FDA, competition, etc.
Then you have the letter from Dowling....jeez.
Perhaps it was the equivalent of putting a for sale sign on the company?
Yea I’ve been here a while and looks like I’ll have to ride it out for a bit.
I hate growth by dilution stocks and hope we aren’t going that route.
John is right though sectors been getting murdered with a few exceptions.
If you haven’t already, check out MEDIF and Valens GroWorks. They both just uplisted to TSX and have solid financials.
The big Canadian LP’s are all hemmoraging money. Not even wasting time with them at this point.
CVSI, CW, MEDIF, TCN are the exceptions. Valens GroWorks will soon join as well imo.
The Canadian plays are the extraction companies now gearing up for beverages/edibles (cannabis 2.0).
I like some US MSO’s but dang if Biden gets elected that could all go up in smoke (recent Vice article did not sound very promising with his track record- sorry, no link).
Proprietary, USA made hemp genetics vs cheap, industrial CBD paste.
Controlling margins through growing vs being reliant on outsourcing with a worldwide CBD shortage (paying more)
My CW investment has doubled twice this year. My CV investment has lost $ this year..as has everyone whose jumped in in 2019.
Highest institutional investment vs barely any.
Experienced Fortune 500 execs vs family of fraudster and an accountant with no CPG experience.
Shall I continue?
The only thing attractive abt CV is the valuation and it doesn’t take much digging to figure out why it’s so low.
FTR- I own some long CV shares but I’m hoping to be bought out.
Well damn that’s awful news.
I’ve been holding out for a good entry. Was targeting $1.15.
Guess I’ll wait til the dust settles.
Is the re a hold up or is my browser effed?
Thanks dude! Looking forward to fall.
Missed the swing on earnings due to being off the grid.
But we’re all good here.
As always- thanks for keeping this board up to date.
You’re a homer and that’s fine.
The company can do no wrong to you because you made a wise investment (and sincere kudos for that) years ago.
But- those times are gone. Anyone whose put their hard earned $ into this stock for 2019 is in the red- me included.
Blind loyalty..it’s just not for me.
Not here to cause beef but some of the fanboys are just too funny.
This has become the ACB of the CBD Industry.
I’m convinced that this semester my college students will be telling me that they’re investing in CVSI on the Robinhood app.
Full disclosure: I’m long most pure plays and CW is my largest holding.
Do you realize you can pay $ to be the ‘1st’ company to appear on a google search?
But- I’m glad ‘the google’ works for you.
Jeffra- thanks for responding re: GRAS status. Honestly, through all the chatter that was my one main concern.
I think there’s work to be done...but also believe the Plus BD brand has a lot going for it.
That’s why I’m here.
I do what I can bmikki lol
Post 2092.
Solid move!!! Dumping there and getting mid $3’s here...very nice.
Glad ya stuck around. I’m sure many bailed during the selloff.
Do your own DD
What was lame is he claimed no debt...right after diluting the stock.
Morning Wolf!
Regarding brick and mortar vs online sales: I think CW having 50% of revenue from online sales is a good thing. 1) it shows enormous brand loyalty and 2) the margins for online sales blow away brick and mortar stores.
Wolf you seem like good people. Just know that Yoda is good people too. We can’t always agree.
But I do love what you’ve brought to the board here!!!
AHOOOOOO!!
RE: hemp genetics question/hypothesis.
If CVSI were to switch to US CBD rich hemp strains would that render the self affirmed GRAS useless?
That’s the only reason I can think of as to why Dowling is dead set against the move. Perhaps switching would also be expensive and would crush momentum for a Q or two?
As DY said- if those cheap EU strains were the best option then CGC and others wouldn’t be spending millions to develop their own. Why wouldn’t they just import the same/equivalent as CV and run with it?
Hey hmmm (the poster)- you hang tight here over the dog days?
Hope so...expecting blowout earnings eod.
Ric Flair WOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Back from off the grid. Nice Q2 report.
Good to see we were able to tread the summer waters without sinking.
Was a little annoyed with the recent nothing to say PR’s but I’ll giv em a pass for now.
Would like some real news soon.
Hopefully the MEDIF numbers today will give us a boost this week as well.
Same here! Recent interview w ceo got me amped. When asked abt Q2 he light up and was grinning ear to ear.
Long and strong here.
I think trump will absolutely sign it if he gets the chance.
Anything to pump the economy/market...and it would absolutely do that.
Come on government!!
I remember reading a while back that management said they have enough raw materials for their highest expectations for 2019.
So, if a shortage is inevitable, seems like we will be in the drivers seat.
Just another reason to love the business model here. Not having to buy raw materials during a shortage = control of margins.
Other companies margins may shrink temporarily but we are locked in.
I beilieve it was $2.75. Don’t see it but if it does I’ll unload elsewhere and pickup as much as I can.
CPG’s is what this is all about and having execs who know the industry/have connections will separate from the others imo.
Branding and shelf space are the biggest gets (as long as product quality is present).
Wise move by CGC.
Sounds like the exact thing CVSI largest competitor just did with their new CEO hire.
I think VGWCF will easily beat estimates.
We could be in for a major pop with the timing. Sector bouncing back from lows a few weeks before smashing estimates and BOOM
As much as I hate to see the downturns they do allow for great accumulation/entry points. Makes it that much sweeter when they rally.
The market is a helluva drug!
I’m in agreement with the FDA being the problem. Seems like everything has been done here to satisfy the ‘demands’.
I’d feel more anxious about the other reasons if another company got the green light first.
However, I don’t think it would be time to panic if someone else does..just saying those would become larger concerns (for me, personally).
As it stands, all the pures seem to be in the same waiting game.
The time is coming though.
DY we had many discussions about the importance of genetics earlier this year. It can be difficult to fully understand how vital they are to any cannabis business (legal or black market). Weed is weed/CBD is CBD crowd.
Seems like those chickens are going to come home to roost.
Completely agree that they most likely have devolved other strains.
Off topic: Have you seen those live resin distillate cartridges? They are legit. It amazing what is being done with cannabis these days.
Nice to have you back and holding down the fort with solid DD.
