Great letter. It sums up how many of us feel. Sold half of mine around $7.50. Thought I’d regret it but so far just wish I had sold it all. Going to hold for awhile as long as I don’t get too upset and sell.
The NFL was a non profit until a few years ago. That didn’t stop them from maximizing revenue and paying Roger Goodell $44 Million per year
I suspect the market assign a value to any announced CVR and add it to the agreed buyout price minus the arb games you mention. I don’t think you would have to hold until close to get close to full value
Does anyone feel that choosing healthnet was due to their being smaller than some of the biggest players (don’t want to anger people who decide tiering) and they had very compromising evidence against them?
I’m hoping to get to a game this year as well. Live in NC now so it’s a bit of a hike for a weekend. My freshman year was 82 the year we won our first national championship, great time to be on a major college campus
My problem is I forgot most of my stat class from 1984 at PSU. We Are
Ms83. Good luck to you and your family, our prayers and thoughts are with you.
With $600 million in the bank, large tax loss carry forward, no debt, and potentially worldwide blockbuster drug and a current market cap of around $3 billion I think some drug companies might be tempted. Might want to hop in before potential catalysts drive price higher and they have to pay more.
Posters, I agree with most of what you say, but why do you think the recent changes suggest management will be around for a long rime?
I read it that they are preparing their parachutes for a soon to be exit from the plane.
I think a buyout would constitute a change of control. I had deferred comp with a previous company vest when it was bought out by another company
Looks like they’re getting ready for a change of control. Let’s hope it’s at $20/share or better
I know cash is down but isn’t receivables and inventory up? All short term assets.
Thanks RAF. That analysis makes a lot of sense. Does he really think GSK vs Teva will be overturned? Said decision being upheld was possible but unlikely?
Please pass along my thanks for the analysis
Europe, China, ROW, GSK vs Teva ruling. Other trials and indications. Should get us back into the teens
$12.75
Thanks FFS Sorry to hear about your dad.
BB Please don’t chase off someone that knows what they are talking about with your stupidity
PDude. Thanks for your hard work. I sincerely hope you are right. I’ve done a round trip on this stock and watched a $1 million profit disappear even though I know better. Would love to be thrown a lifeline!
Yes, I do think my crazy comment is 100% safe. I live outside of Raleigh, not in the mountains. From a mill town outside of Pittsburgh originally.
I think that anyone that posts over 20,000 posts to a message board and probably averages around 10 a day is crazy.
That’s what I initially thought. Not so sure now. Was in the Caribbean a week earlier
I believe yes. It was on Feb 9. Only remember exact date due to cardiac catheterization being on Valentine’s Day. A nice gift for my wife. Couldn’t handle the pain anymore and went to emergency room on 2/12. Diagnosed as having pneumonia and heart attack. Pneumonia due to CT scan results heart attack due to triponan (doctors please correct spelling). They weren’t doing COVID testing yet.
Once pain under control, it was the worst I ever felt, I felt fine. They gave me fentanyl initially and morphine through the first day. Spent 3 days in hospital. Cardiac Cath came back as clear. Cardiologist said I had big fat clear arteries. Thanks Vascepa.
I posted this to the board in late Feb or early March but didn’t think it was COVID at the time because others close to me didn’t get it.
CBB. I agree with you and others. I also think AMRN is worth $15+ per share. However, any buyer will want to buy at the best price possible. If they believe they can get enough shareholders to accept $10 they’ll have a go. Remember most of the float turned over in the $4-5 price range after recent problems. I suspect many of these shareholders with nice, and short term, profits would vote yes to a buyout at this level..
Mel, not many deals go for triple current market vale. The market isn’t recognizing the same fundamentals you refer to.
Give me $10 and I’m out
Agreed, but there have been numerous cases against gun manufacturers
BB. I’m in NC
Thanks Duke
Isn’t it more like $10 million+ per week in sales? 52 weeks x $10 million = $520 million
Duke, I’ve asked the board a number of times if state laws requiring generic substitution would induce infringement and allow for AMRN to sue states? No one has answered this question yet but I would love to know.
Very well done 8, thanks for all your work.
I'm just wondering if it is state law the requires that the generic be substituted is it not the state law the is inducing infringement of the RI patents? Can the states be sued for inducing infringement?
Thank you jjfmcrr. I’ve enjoyed your posts
I've held through all of this, but am feeling gutted by this mornings proceedings. I can't see selling at current prices, but looking to get out when appropriate. Never act when panic in the air.
If I was a salesman in the US I would be very nervous about my job.
About the only thing I think we can hope for is a quick sell for the value of Eurpe and a CVR if we somehow win the appeal.
Good luck longs. Must admit I’m as nervous as a virgin on prom night
It usually doesn’t happen because it is typically better for the option owner to sell the option and receive both the inherent value of the option and the time vale. If you exercise the option before expiration you are giving up the time value. The further from expiration the higher the time value. Volatility is also a big component in determining the value of the option. Google Black Scholes Pricing Model to better understand how options are valued.
I have seen options on low volatility stocks (small time value) exercised before expiration to receive a dividend that was big.
Did she get overturned on appeal on this one?
How many lawsuits have you filed regarding AMRN? You’ve threatened numerous times but haven’t seen any follow through.
For those of you saying well done please don’t encourage BB. It only motivates more posts from him/her clogging up the board.
On a side note, DMiller you said you expect us to lose appeal. People have asked why, but nothing forthcoming yet. Do you care to share? I think we win for all the reasons documented on this board but would love to hear a counter argument to take into consideration for my investment in AMRN.
DMiller. Why do you think we lose the appeal? Your thoughts are appreciated
Sorry, I think our current system needs changing but if you think government price controls are the answer you need to read some history
Totally agree. The over allotment will be bigger than the % they would get for underwriting if the stock pops big. However, putting a big IIPO pop down to immorality when the reality is that the stock in no way justifies that type of value is wrong.
If an underwriter gets a reputation for leaving loads of $ on the table business will dry up. Similarly if they can’t complete the underwriting because of too high a price it is a disaster. Most people forget that when Facebook came out the underwriting was weak and regular investors could get all the shares they want. It traded under it’s IPO price for quite awhile.
