Strange how we are correlated to broader market swings. ie Fed. I know we hold up well sometimes in relative terms, but do that many people invest in us on macro - market level comparisons? Feels like we should be free-er of that.
I like the early January activity with Institutional Investor conference and this exposure that just posted today. https://ir.cvsciences.com/press-releases/detail/94/cv-sciences-inc-featured-as-a-panelist-at-2nd-annual
MODS - do your job and stop political posts.
It will be tremendously so. Today, shorts taking advantage of retail impatience and flooding the zone with BS that FB meaningless...
Agreed 800.
First of all URBestBud - sorry you are down and feeling it. It sucks and we all know it.
The most important fact: NASDAQ is the key to reduce these illogical short attacks. And the FB Will be signed in 3 business days and that allows NASD to say yes to CVSI.
Otherwise all the PR in the world can't stabilize CVSI on OTC. I think someone said recently there were only 11,000 investors here - all little and retail. So CEO pushing too hard looks bad, esp on OTC where that is a sign of fraud company. Its a catch-22 for now.
Despite that, the CEO was out last night pushing CVSI and doing interviews. But no real money/institutional investor - who watches that and heard him can touch CVSI on OTC anyway.
So we are left at mercy of good shorts who really know how to play low volume OTC and retail like us who get freaked by a drop on a day we should be up. Part of good OTC shorting is the counter-psychology it seems - and they are good at it. I for one want to learn more about it.
Remember how fast we recover, if there is a sniff of NASDAQ it will make those past accelerations look small and slow.
The CEO interviews last night had clear hints at deals in the works. Looking forward to the follow-through. I think they will be quick because I imagine they were working on these in Aug and Sept anticipating the Sept 30 deadline.
What is the action on Level 2 - feels like a manipulation down - I have an order in the high 4's just in case....
Is CWEb being pulled down by Canadian association? Its top hemp CBD co and down. I'm buying a little more here I think before the market catches up and they switch to NYSE or NASDAQ. Or is the sell the news from the 40% run up the past week prior?
When is the signing?
Carl - the research study was in 2017. The results submitted to Journal Toxicology in jan 2018 and accepted to publish in late spring. I hope CVSI has their self-affirmed data in to FDA right around then. FDA could not comment until legal and it takes 6-12 months for them to acknowledge the app (all according to their website and other DD I posted the other night). So I think we could hear from FDA early in 2019 Giving thumbs up to CVSI research. Hopefully a week after we uplist
House votes at noon today?! some useful links to play along at home
Morning Hour speeches have concluded and the Chair declared the House in recess at 11:16 AM. It will reconvene at 12:00 PM for one-minute speeches and then consider the rule for the conference report to accompany H.R. 2 - Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018.

Super - I know your note was to MC, but FWIW I am also long CWEB and CVSI. I know a number of others on this board are as well because we spend a lot of time on the CVSI too. I see both with great value in different ways and not interested in convincing anyone re the other ticker. I just want to learn as much as possible re CWEB here. And as the top two in an emerging space, I do a lot of comparisons of their strategy and financials. Fair?
MC - wrong board - CVSI is the only one that has it. I think CWBHF will do well without it given its market share and awareness, but CVSI may have some advantages with that designation.
GRAS study for CVSI was conducted in 2017 and finished late 2017 by AIBMR Life Sciences. They then published the study in Journal of Toxicology with first submission early 2018 and came out in June 2018. https://www.hindawi.com/journals/jt/2018/8143582/
After a company invests in self-affirmed GRAS, 6-12 months for FDA to acknowledge. CVSI may have submitted this info to FDA this summer and could be acknowledged by FDA early in the new year perhaps. https://ir.cvsciences.com/press-releases/detail/73/cv-sciences-inc-announces-landmark-publication-on-the
Here is a full explanation of the Self-affirmed GRAS process - its critical
https://www.experts.com/Articles/Safety-of-Novel-Food-and-Dietary-Supplement-Ingredients-By-Sanford-Bigelow
"As the food and dietary supplement industries consolidate, having your products containing novel ingredients on firm safety and regulatory grounds facilitate time-honored practices for sustaining and growing your business."
"GRAS self-affirmation conducted independently of the FDA is legal determinations that allow manufacturers to use novel ingredients and substances not listed in the Code of Federal Regulations. In making these independent determinations, the manufacturers assumes the responsibility of using a substance (as they already do for their products), that the data is publicly available to support a position for general recognition of safe use, and has determined that the substance may be safely used in food in a manner proposed by the manufacturer. Thus, one distinction between GRAS substances and food additives is the common knowledge aspect provided for by publicly available evidence for determining GRAS status. Dietary ingredients, too, do not require safety determinations to depend on publicly available evidence.
Manufacturers of ingredients used in food or dietary supplement products, who market ingredients to food and/or dietary supplement producers, can opt to share their GRAS self-affirmation with their customer, or if the customer wants some level of regulatory acceptance and recognition, the FDA established in 1997 a voluntary notification process in which the ingredient manufacturer can notify the FDA of the GRAS self-affirmation, which takes 6-12 months for FDA's acknowledgement of the manufacturer's GRAS self-affirmation. Most food and dietary supplement product manufacturers are satisfied once the FDA publishes their acknowledgement letter for the manufacturer's GRAS self-affirmation."
Sweet find Sleuth! He should tell congress that Self-certified GRAS is necessary ... oh and by the way, its only CVSI...
I see 260K in vol not 1.6 mil
I think we can get in under $5, but would not count on it for long. No one wants to be out if news on FB over weekend and chasing it Monday. I put on a small(er) APH? position early yesetrday - feels like gambling on their narrative now. But I too have the rest to roll into my biggest
CVSI...
Show me one $50 million business that doesn't encounter 1 lawsuit per year.
Agreed - I am still solid believer in the numbers and business of CVSI. Just negative on the price action.
Agreed SpaceLady. Unlike some, I do see some useful fact-based trade ideas from Vandy at times so long as I keep them in context unrelated to the core biz, my own est of value, and FB. (I just don't get why he or others bother with the personal bs. No one wants that here.)
This board is predominantly overly optimistic - was proven by revenue guesses too. I am hopeful, but also old enough and burnt enough times to be skeptical (which is where the handle comes from)
Vandy - I follow TCNNF as well and I think I read there are only two dispensaries open in all MA right now, right?
APHA hurts... that was my #2. Feels like Aug 20 and Citron all over again. This short author seems more legit and it true, that is bad news for APHA. They had their eyes on the CBD market too, so maybe it slows down one well funded CVSI competitor...
That was painful and I am out. Same short hit was at CVSI in August, but way less research and detail so recovered well. This may be a while. Good luck - I was very supportive of APHA.
Ania77 where do you find these stats re OTC? I'd like to see more stats on these markets. at $5.25 and 2.3 mil vol so far, we may be top again today?
MMChartist - your posts are VERY helpful. Many of us appreciate reasoned facts here. Thanks.
9%+ gain on 40% higher volume than yesterday? that looks good - yes traders? Are we past these crappy 400,000 shares traded days....
fighting for 5...get back up there...
Just a comp: NBEV vs CVSI shows the difference of the marketplaces I think. NBEV negative earnings, good and growing revenue (but not enough to overcome expenses clearly), and good share structure - works fine for exciting share price growth on NASD. CVSI may rally, but we may not be available for as much juice (pun intended) here in OTC land...
(Thank you to BaldingContrarian (I think?) who pointed me to NBEV and CBD drink a few weeks ago in the low 3s too.)
There was a statement from the committee today (
) and congress adjourns on Dec 13 or 14. So I think they will want to vote next week after CBO and then sign by end of next week Dec 7 or early next week Dec 10-11?BREAKING: House, Senate Ag Committee leaders formally announce agreement in principle on farm bill. pic.twitter.com/K2DVLkLPeS

Vandy: I agree that I wouldn't be surprised if it trailed back down towards 4 in the next week without any more substantive step on FB or other good catalyst. (That is the cynicism that has built up in me swimming around on the OTC with all of you... :)) But given the upside odds of FB signing by Dec 13 why do you think people would sell it back down into the mid-low 3's? Just on the chart? Isn't this a moment where specific near term catalyst would likely override the technical?
Q2 ends tomorrow, but any reason to think we will see numbers before early January? https://aphria.ca/blog/aphria-records-solid-revenue-growth-in-first-quarter-of-2019/
Kev - CVSI focuses on the highest value part of the process, the only GRAS certified CBD out there. High Quality control and high quality assurance - but their capacity to deliver the CBD ingredient necessary to support a line of national drinks or foods, is already there and would be able to scale in a matter of weeks. I am sure any big national or international partner would do much more due diligence than I would, so if we see an announcement it confirms what the CEO told me.
After FB is passed, yes could trend down. The deal flow will start to drive differentiation among CBD players in my opinion. So I am hoping to hear announcements within 30-45 days post farm bill, hopefully sooner. I think many deals were worked on all summer anticipating Sept 30, and are on hold, and may be announced very quickly when legalities are clear.
And for some companies, a change in market to NASD we hope.
Cheers CVSI peeps! Carpe the damn diem :)
FB deal in principal - now to write language and CBO to score. https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/news-columns-blogs/the-buzz/article222307600.html
KYHemp - you are watching too closely. It went back over $4 since your post and there was no official FB announcement- just encouraging notes from various players. SP will never go straight up. If I was a great trader like BKK and bought $50k at $3.35 yesterday, it would be completely rational to trade out at $4 for 19% gain $10K in 24 hours. Right? And then if you are BKK taunt us all about it....
Yes- reloaded most of my trading position under $3.75 now. And...Time for FB... volume started to pick up a bit and we are sniffing $4 again...
