Record volume and we still haven't reached 1 mil. Will be great to see what happens with 2 and 3 million shares traded.
Nice move and volume - this certainly is 'some pig' (thanks EB White). Now lets get a CEO and big distribution PR...
I think Q1 earnings still 6 weeks off, mid-May based on last year. Maybe they will move them up this year a bit.
I think TCNNF will be #1 in US revenue this week and hopefully draw a lot of new eyes.
Also - question -can anyone explain easily how weed companies value biologic assets? I assume its their plant inventory. I worry about the 'real' value in these numbers for all MJ companies and so I always look at the net revenue without this to see if they are hiding under the plants. I think TCNNF is good without this, but would like to see the New Cannabis Ventures with Net Revenue w/o biologic assets, and also list debt.
They cleared those just under 19... up from here (maybe...), but there may be more they want to try at 18.50. Someone who knows TA charts may see it.
This is a pretty clear shake out/sell the news to get shares from people who don't realize the incredible opportunities that are materializing right now. They are tremendous. I hope there is no one who needs to sell today.
Fantastic... these are the notes I was hoping for when I was buying this in September...
Thanks Super - I appreciate comparative numbers.
thanks - that's excellent
Good considering the bs by states vs CBD in the fall and winter. I thought 23 mil was expected?
Third national chain? CVS, Walgreens and...?
I would guess things like this happen to other companies calls on occasion, but its new to me...
earnings Call postponed and financials may not come out tonight. That was strange. All due to a formatting issue. Looking forward to the call in the AM.
That is a good question - and will it allow NASD and NYSE to uplist CBD companies?
I think bill is just passing out of House Committee today (hopefully); then needs a full house vote and then Senate (which is what I hear is the possible sticky area.)
Pop as soon as new CEO and CFO get announced, or merger get announced. I am not sure the next financials will change the narrative here without leadership
fantastic re CVSI at Wegmans! This is the top end grocery store in northeast and adored up here- I'll go take a look.
Jefra - is this just closing SP/days in month? I would guess if this was SP x volume the average would be well into the 5s now. Lots of volume up here in high 5s and low-mid6s...
I got the same email from IR yesterday for Apr 4. I’d expect Pr on that today since they are sharing a date with us
ROGJR - thanks for ChartGuy video. This guy seems interesting re TA. What other feeds do you (and others) follow re MJ investing?
I know its up 25% since last Monday, but any guesses to why is CWBHF not popping a little on Curaleaf/CVS news? This shelf offering of $500,000,000 is weighing it down at present? Seems likely CWBHF could be a partner or have a clean track to distribution now...
I can't see a fully diluted share count on etrade (shows 91 mil?) so at 1.6B MC?
Correct - numbers are fine and have been fine- no restatement. V was trying to use a short term hiring, process technicality in the audit to cast doubt on the whole thing. That's BS. Was in process of being corrected in late fall and winter and was hired as Chief accounting officer on Jan 8 this year. It seems like a 'good' short term problem of growth and hiring that was addressed well.
I hope and expect more hiring challenges to keep up with fulfilling balm for billions...
Of course - I am well aware of what V and others are up to as you know. But I read it in the 10doc myself so I did my own DD and learn from you and many others here as well. Thanks Jefra
Super- I get it and will not argue technicalities of audit. I know that CVSI is actively improving an already solid management team with more and more well qualified professionals now that their MC has grown. They are working correctly today and that is what I am investing on.
IR reply to audit issue: All sorry to cause angst this AM, but the word was in audit, so I took the opportunity to learn more and to DD. Thanks for (almost) everyone's post.
As I mentioned in my initial note and as Ania mentioned, I thought it read like a hiring issue due to rapid growth. And IR confirmed that in their reply. In addition, IR said: ".. auditors noting internal control weaknesses in the first year of a company reaching the market cap to have added requirements under Sarbanes Oxley are not uncommon;" He went on to say the auditors did not mention it to them again.
The CAO came on just days after the end of audit period, so some of this was just a technicality and caused no change in numbers. If he started a week earlier, the CAO hiring would have been noted as a remedy in this audit. But who starts a job over the holidays...
My takeaway on all this was our annoying 'friend' was trying to cause trouble of course, but I am glad I contacted CVSI and learned for myself.
CVSI tremendous growth caused a short term push of market cap ahead of staffing, was solved right away, and it did not disrupt any numbers.
Onward and upward...
Board knows I am long, but I believe audit question is clearly one that should have been addressed proactively on the call. Not left to be found by antagonists (who say they are going away but remain, and remain...) I sent IR a note asking about this issue. The key item for me was that they found no material change to numbers and no revisions, so it seems more a note about hiring enough personnel and control for a very fast growing company, and not comment on mistakes with books thankfully.
Sorry our stock sale is getting worse... 5% off... no wait 4% off...
Good morning all - when do we expect earnings release next and what are expectations? Will this acquisition cause a lot of dilution and how will that balance with new revenue? Curious about people's thoughts here. Excited to be in HRVSF and working on my DD... thanks
Hi all - new to VFF since mid-9s and still working on DD. What are expectations for earnings? How many analysts covering VFF?
CVSI on sale 9% off...wait 8% off...oops...7% off. Feels like a dip and rip sort of day / week as smart money reads the big store partnership info? I bought more and if it gets pushed down below $4.25 I'll add more again.
Agreed - many things could be in the pipeline. My favorite was the answer to the question of are the big companies waiting for the FDA? Dowling: "No, they are not waiting." that may have been my favorite comment from the call
awesome MMChartist... what do you think will happen tomorrow and following here?
Thanks SpaceLady for running it this Q!
I agree with Super: go ahead and get started on NYSE. Shorten the risk of NASD, shorten the time frame if we need to go that route, play one market against the other perhaps? Listing costs are relatively minimal and see the expense as a key part of the preparation to be a much, much larger company. I like that all analysts are saying "level the playing field" and "how that will help the company"
There are already at least two channels - Natural Stores and on-line DTC. I hope we have a FDMC channel in Q1 report breakout... that will make the other two look small.
I think we will also see excellent growth in Online sales when breakout occurs since we went up in sales with four states taking Natural Food stores off line!
Thanks Snap. That's good, but not sure how big of an expense reduction that is. It feels to me that smokeable not necessarily a big positive on revenue, just feels that way since so many people smoke recreational MJ?
My takeaways:
Investments in Q4 show strategy and positioning - future of the company is in the 50,000 retail stores clearly... they are investing significantly to handle the contracts with FDMC - they are ready for big time partners, far beyond manual fulfillment to the Natural Stores. And doing it while increasing profit. Nice management and thinking of investors.
More clarity on the likely FDA channels they seem to be hearing: 1 Pharma channel (for us longer term 007); 2 FDMC products (main PLusCBD still #1 in category re SPINS Data); and any CBD products derived from THC MJ instead of hemp may be in trouble - Dowling seems to have heard those will be pulled and banned. That was very interesting and he went into detail about our clear traceability of hemp fiber. (That should be good for CW too with their special hemp strains, but they started from MJ years ago I read today.)
Glad he said FDMC retailers know GRAS well and recognize it. (As the kids would say, GRAS recognize GRAS...) Gras for us not for all.
Q4 growth over Q3 despite tougher headwinds from some states; looks like other positive growth channels that they may be looking to share breakout in Q1 2019 - good sign for late April when we get those numbers;
Raw Materials - good amounts; traceable and verifiable for FDA;
Mona was a non-issue and not reactive, just played out the transitions after SEC settled. Disproves some conspiracy idiots we have battled.
Sort term - for two Q in a row, the guesses show this board is still too optimistic on time frames for the big moves on revenue and stock price pop. (Dowling clearly said Q4 would be choppy based on state interference in Nov on the Q3 call.) Those who want it to go down, will take advantage of the traders tomorrow and maybe the rest of this week. No near term obvious catalysts and we know what they can do to a great profitable company wallowing on the shit show known as the OTC. I will try to buy more lower, but I own a lot already and with audited financials out, I expect NASD is soon.
more annotated notes:
brochstein new can vent: q4 investments were what specifically?
dowling: every system company wide- upgraded automation and efficiency in every area of the company and eliminate manual processes. Salesforce and other systems warehouse, lab control and info, all required by companies with scale and able to handle the type of orders to come. For example to work with FDMC orders for million dollar purchase orders weekly - these scales require us to be automated and efficient.
new analyst - something capital: Mona stepping down, was that to help uplist and filing the 10K helpful? and edibles market and FDA worries?
dowling: Mona - nothing w Nasd - was planned when SEC matter was settled, then he would stay and transition relationship the rest of 2018; was always planned and in now complete. Filing 10K was not specifically
Gummies not an obstacle with FDA.
notes
analyst: can you break down your channels as percent of sales yet?
dowling: retail store count all natural product retailers; we expect that to change in 2019 as FDMC is established developed; natural stores are 4,000 to 5,000; doctors add 1,000 more; and FDMC channels are 50,000.
Analyst: channel sales breakdown?
Dowling: may start breakdown that in Q1 2019; in Q4 gross margins came down a bit because of investments in future growth -
Alan Brochstein - New Cannabis Ventures: Are you notifying NASD that your competitors are already listed? Hopefully you'll get a level playing field
Dowling: NASD does not share their internal rationale
Alan: international?
Dowling: expo last week had many international customers - first focus is domestic for highest near term return.
