Volume is the Key!
You have many people silently watching this stuck. In 2010 the stock went to $.19 on a momentum play. The volume will increase almost every day during the run. When the volume drops off, hit the road. Good luck.. Bill
I enjoyed your post. It was very informative. I have been around for over five years, but pretty silent... I don't see some of the posters that were very active 2-3-5 years ago. They were very passionate about LBSR.. Wondered if they were still around or moved on??? I was going to buy more but after reading the recent posts, I will just stay where I am. I wish you all the best and hope to see some of those old message board leaders on this board will reappear in the future.
I did a little more research on Vista.. Ten years ago Vista agreed to buy an Idaho gold property for 10 payments of $100,000 per year. This year they agreed with a private company to sell their Idaho property for 31+ M shares of a new company (Midas) being formed with the private company that owned the other part of the Idaho gold area. In July Midas had an IPO for 12 M shares. , MIDAS Gold (MAX.TO)at $3.25 and raised $40M. Midas has recently started trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
It is estimated that Midas currently has approx 5 M oz of gold and with their planned $10M drilling program they hope to identify 10-15M oz.
Vistas shares in Midas are worth approx. $100 million.
Vistas' market cap is approx $220 M today (70M shares x $3.15.
Vistas current gold resources per their website 10.8M measured and indicated and 4.1M oz inferred. Thus, Vistas measured and indicated is valued at spprox $20.00 oz. Measured, indicated and inferred is valued at approx $13.50 oz.
This new asset, 31 M shares of Midas adds significant visible value to Vista or approx $1.40 per share.
Prior to today, the market had not responded to the new Midas asset. Today, Vista held a telephone conference call to discuss the second quarter earnings. After the conference call, the stock jumped 10% to $3.15 on strong volume...
With $1,700 gold, this stock would appear to have little downside risk and a great upside potential?
When will they start production?
I've been in and out this stock for almost ten years. it seems like they always have some reason for prolonging startup of production. They hire new vp's, change method of production plan, etc. The shareholder isn't going to benefit until they are close to production.
Management makes a good living without production. I guess they don't realize or care that there are a lot of exshareholders on the outside looking in. These exshareholders would buy back in if they would come close to production.
Meanwhile the stock meanders.
One Look at VGZ Value
According to what I read, VGZ has 30M of Midas (Max.t) which is trading at $3.20 or $96.M
VGZ market cap is $190M and they have 10M oz AU
VGZ gold is valued at $19 oz with $96 M in stock and some cash too.
Or One share (now $2.70) has approx. $1.35 of the stock and 1/6 oz of gold (10M oz/60M shares).. Granted, much of the gold is inferred, low quality, etc but still an interesting proposition at $1,700 gold.
VOLUME VOLUME VOLUME
I have been in and out of this stock at over $1. and under $.0020
The potential is staggering..
The management is bewildering..
Without volume we are dead in the water..
It is very difficult to ascend fast in the morning and be like a dying quail in the afternoon.. With volume, we have a chance to fly again tomorrow. It can be a great ride....
This stock seems to move ahead of the market?? it dropped faster and now it moved up sooner than market.. Any reason?? Short sellers??
Giddy Up!
If I remember correctly, the institutional holdings are about 90%?? That doesn't leave much of a float..
You might consider changing the lead comment of $26 or bust to $50 or bust?? That's our next mountain to climb..
Bill
Giddy up...
This company continues to meet their targets.. This is a core stock for me.. Meanwhile, vista has doubled recently to $4.00.
Many of my other speculative stocks are not doing even that well. Nice to have a winner.. I see many investors on other boards writing many messages and their stock stinks.. This one flys like a rocket and no one pays any attention to it.. Go firgure! Bill
Montanore
Keep up the good work. it's nice to have a company that meets their forecasts and commitments. With their plans for the future, they should keep this stock moving up... Bill
"2. Allied Nevada Gold Corp. (ANV): Market cap of $2,327B. Institutional investors, who own 94.39% of the company, currently own 83,606,659 shares vs. 69,878,861 shares held 3 months ago (+19.65% change). Short float at 5.93%, which implies a short ratio of 5.24 days. The stock has gained 177.99% over the last year."
The above is from the Seeking Alpha article that ranks ANV #2 out of their 7 top gold picks. I was quite suprised at t heir numbers and wondered and how this effect share price in future??
Institutional investors own 94% of the company.. 3 months ago institutional investors owned 74%.. there doesn't appear to be too much stock left to buy??
Off hand, it would seem extremely bullish??
Board of Directors approved a rollback 8:1. Shareholders to vote Oct 18th.. The Board feels this will help them raise money to move forward on several key mining projects. Hughes Group is doing this on several $.02 companies. Historically, rollbacks are not usually good for the shareholders. The record high gold/silver prices could possibly make this an exception and a favorable move for shareholders???
7.8 Million Shares Traded Thursday as KS.V.. Interest is increasing.. I think the Gold in the Yukon attracts attention but they have great silver properties in Yukon, BC, Ontario and Mexico...
A mill in BC... Lot of potential..

Moneta Porcupine Mines looks like a good area play when the gold market really heats up. We haven't really seen area play type action since 2008. In uncertain times people go for less speculative stocks. I have a large map (2 1/2 x 3") of the greater Timmins area that I got at the Toronto Show a couple years ago.. The map shows all the properties held by all the mining companies. I located all five Moneta properties.. They are all in excellent locations adjacent in most cases to Goldcorp. The West Timmins property is adjacent to the West Timmins/Lake Shore properties..
Additional drill results will be a plus but I think their terrific locations will attract a lot of new investors as they search for companies located near successful mines. When your next door neighbor starts buying gold stocks, that's when this stock will fly.. Meanwhile the company has adequate cash, doesn't excessivly dilute their stock, in a safe political area, etc. and is reasonably priced..
Balls of Iron sure picked his price right.. $26.00 was a good sell. Now what does he do with his money?? Keep it in currency?? Invest in another stock?? With the news coming out of ANV, I like to stay here.
Montanore I know you from another stock board a year or two years ago?? Can't remember which stock.. I agreed with you on the last board... I tend to forget those other guys that post.. Good luck in your new position as monitor of this board.. I think this stock still has great potential...
I have recently returned to IHub due to following another stock that has a lot of posts.. I was pleasantly suprised to find a good ANV board. The Canadian boards have little on ANV and Yahoo Board could be better.
The Charts may tell you to sell but where is a better place to park some of your $$$?? I would sure like to know. I received this stock, like most of you, as a spinoff from Vista. I sold off a portion as the stock went higher and am playing with house money..
Thanks for the excellent message board.. I look forward to bright future with ANV..
I checked the documents at Sedar and found that the lack of information during the summer months is similar to prior years. They issue a M D& A in late April and then not again until Nov.
Interim financials, 2/28 are issued in late April and then no financials until the audited ones for y/e 5/31 in late September.
I would like to know how the mill is progressing?? Last year I was looking forward to positive cash flow from the mill only to find out the ore trucked in from Alaska was sold at a loss due to market conditions. This year processing local ore and better market conditions should make the results much better?
I like the potential of their properties and feel that silver will soon get it's day.. $25-50 silver would help this $.04 stock. Dilution is a real concern..
I always wonder if a CEO with good management skills might have made some different decisions over the last few years and provided the shareholders with a viable company with minimal share dilution?? I've seen several companies that have geologists that are good at finding properties but they lack ability or time to advance the company and create shareholder value..
The only interesting thing at sedar was Joe Dwek, management consultant in Toronto bought a lot of shares with attached warrants. He also invested in Kalahari. Those seem to be the two Hughes companies with some potential.. IMHO.. I hope Joe knows what he is doing.

"On a lighter note, I am now living in a small town in Southern Indiana after moving back from Los Angeles. I told a few people about LBSR and had them buy in under .03
Well as I now have learned, those few people have turned into a large number of people. I don't know the exact number, but one fellow I told about the stock, he bought thousands of dollars worth, and as he was driving down the road, someone flagged him over and asked "hey, I heard you bought into this stock called LBSR, did you really?"
He told me he was amazed at that. Well, since then, the other's who I told about it have told me of countless other's who are making nice tidy profits off of investments of 1000 to 40K dollars each.
I am glad that other's are sharing in this success story....it makes all of the past 6 years worth the wait."
I've been saying for years that when your next door neighbor starts talking about gold and his profits from stocks he purchased on the internet, the PM market will go crazy.. There are a number of gold stocks in 1980 that went from $.10 to over $100.
This may be an early example of the mania that may develop???
