They had a very small display, about a 1/4 to 1/3 the size of the HL15. They originally developed this small display for Lexus automobiles, but Lexus decided not to continue the project.
I am not an engineer, but from what I saw, I can't see any obstetrical to combining this small display with Air Touch.
I don't think that they were 'pushing' the air touch. I think their main focus was the Coinstar kiosks.
Now with Covid, this tech might be interesting, but it also might be too little too late.
I saw, and played with, Air touch about three years ago at the old Provision office. At that time, you could do yes/no or up/down/left/right/select or 0-10 by looking at the image and then making your selection on the image in mid-air.
It worked quite well. But it was three years ago, it might be quite a bit better today.
Curt's email address is curt@provision.tv
Bob Ostrander's is bob@provision.tv
I think it would be safe to assume that Mark is mark@provision.tv
Just reporting what I heard and saw at the Provision office.
TraderExpert, your knowledgeable and wise comments enlighten, thank you.
All the best.
Not false.
I didn't say he was there every day. When I visited the Provision office in October, I asked to meet Mark. I was told that he was meeting with Coinstar on the day of my visit. As we walked around Curt pointed out Mark's office.
I once had an office in Dallas, TX, but lived in Atlanta. About once every month to six weeks, I worked in the Dallas office.
OK, but Mark Leonard has an office in Provision's Chatsworth, CA facility.
When I was at the Provision office in October, I was told that Leonard was at a meeting with Coinstar. Seems like a good reason to me.
Curt and Jeff (the tech guy) and a few others that I was not introduced to.
Their office was open for business when I visited in October.
Hmm, I called the same Coinstar 800 number a couple of weeks ago and asked for the address of a coupon dispensing kiosk in Newport Beach, CA.
They gave me the addresses to two Pavilion Grocery stores. (Note: I do not live in CA, but per the Coinstar kiosk locator, there are no coupon dispensing kiosks where I live.)
I made the assumption that only Provision equipped kiosks could dispense coupons. This may, or may not, be correct. But on https://www.coinstar.com/coupons they tie the two functions together.
From Coinstar's website - just a few minutes ago.
Coinstar® is more than just coin counting! You can now print coupons and save money on popular items in your local grocery store through our partnership with ProVision 3D Media. Select products are displayed in 3D holographic ads floating overhead at the kiosk.

Adplanet is a recent Coinstar trademark.

Thanks Maramu
According to my count that would make it three grocery chains.
Albertson's - including Von's, Pavilions and Safeway
Giant Eagle
and now Stater Brothers
Thanks Ironhammer and Kaz92040,
On the video:
Von's
Revlon
AquaHydrate
Blue Diamond
Mitchum (Revlon)
Nexium (AstraZeneca)
and Pantene (P&G)
were advertised. It would be interesting to see if another location has different ads.
Thanks Maramu for the info.
The new VP of Products at Coinstar - Michael Jack - came from Blackhawk Networks. From 2005 to 2009, Mark Leonard - Provision CEO - worked at Blackhawk.

It's been a few years, but I have twice been to their office on Eaton Ave. They were very generous with their time and showed me the different displays they have tried over the years.
The office is - guessing- 3-5K square feet, including the warehouse. I didn't do a head count but saw about 7 or 8 employees.
I do not live in California, I was in the LA area on business.
Thanks Ironhammer,
I took a couple of pictures of the Rite Aid kiosk a few years ago. I found it difficult to get a good picture of the hologram with a smartphone camera. Impressive in person, but not in a photograph.
If you could, please post of list of the companies advertising on the Coinstar units, in addition to Ortega.
Thanks Kaz, did you happened to notice how many different companies/products where being advertised on the Provision display? And how did the image look? T
APDP, Yes, last year, while on business in Los Angeles, I stopped by two Rite-Aid stores that had Provision Kiosks. The floating image was quite impressive. 5 or 6 years ago, I saw one of the Provision displays in a CircleK convenience store. It was mounted from the ceiling above the cashier.
