To the responders to tahiti post # 298311, dated 10/30/2010. Half of my position sold yesterday around 10:30 AM @ $40.00. Bombastic Bushkin phoned today regarding disposition of the proceeds. He said,"You want 'me' to send you a check for the amount?" I said yes. There ensued a prolonged period of dead air. You guys are trouble makers. Thank you. I mean it!
It's going to be an even merrier Christmas at my house.
Peace.

Yes. A new life style!

It was there long enough for me to take 3k off the table. Still holding my core position established 12 years ago. Still have to put my son through medical school. No huge loans for him to pay off.

Re: Bushkin.
Emailed him like I said I'd do. He "called" me back. Yep! He recommeneded "reinvesting" proceeds in one of the funds he sells. Does not know anything about the sector. Boy! You gentlemen are good and I'm more concerned.
Peace.
t
Pipers. All of those considering my plight. Thanks. I'm emailing "Bushkin" again with your suggestions. He liked the Murphy-Akroyd clip. It was a true classic. That's a quote.
Peace.

Such much for the 1st Amendment. Wander what the decorum was like in those little meetings in Independance Hall in 1776? No discord there. Only discourse eh.

Thanks for the advise. Please read reply to JimLur. You're in the "class".

I know what he will do. Like he did every other times in the past. Plow(bury)it back into one the Russels. I feel like a genius now, with the money market, IDCC? and PANL? I still have the bucks. Frankly, I was even worried about MM for a while. What would happen if the dollar broke the buck? Just the same, I'll ask him. Oh yes, all those technology stocks are way too "volatile". That's a quote. (BTW I am also an Electronic Techie). I just love tecnology. I graduated from Penn State in the sixties. Just in time for the Tet Offensive. I was dead meat. Went from 2S to 1A over night. In 8 weeks I was in uniform. Howvever, when I started PSU it was in engineering. The prep time interfered with my party. I switched to something that allowed me to spend more time to have a good time. Hence a BS in Biology. I continued to take the math and physics course every term. They were easy for me. Really helped the gpa which really started to sag when I joined a fraternity. I just got it. (Didn't do semesters then at PSU then) Cosequently I scored pretty high on the electronic apptitude test and went to Crypto School, 6 hours a day, 5 days a week for 14 months. Kind of intense but I truly loved it. I'd come home, take a little toss in the hay, go to the pool and build electronic gadjets at night. The base had a top shelf electronic hobby center. I was permitted to live off base in a garden apartment with a heated pool. One hour from Padre Island and the border with Mexico.(Wasn't supposed to leave the USA, but many did) Didn't much care for the uniform.(all those oppressive Regulations and the UCMJ) But life was way cool. My first computer was the size of a Volkswagen and operated at 60 to 120 "words per minute" if I didn't leave the room. All vacuum tubes and bimag logic. We had some solid state equipment too. The work horse though, were those KG-26's.(NSA is it ok to spill the beans now) At Andrews AFB Crpyto center they had an acre of them.
Thanks so much for the candid advise. I feel like I've been talking to one the Gods.(especially you). Been following you much longer than Cramer.(Well he is merely an entertainer). I've heard he's really quite charming in person. The Cramer you supposely interpret on TV may be just an act.
Peace.

Bombastic Bushkin,(my financial advisor) has been picking my bones for the last 5 years.(I was keeping my own counsel since 1981). My wife is an associate. Good greif,
they both belong to the same Bar Association. I believe my wife has my best interest at heart. We've been together since August 1979. Believe me, I've given her plenty of reasons to bolt. She stays by my side. He wants me to liguidate half of my position. I own upwards of 5k. Average cost of all shares $6.35. Yes I know I'm bragging. Would you sell soon. If so when? What would you do with the proceeds? I have an order to execute at 39.95 out there this minute. It was kicking and screaming to get me there. Does everyone think I'm getting good advise? He wanted to reveiw my "portfolio" every 6 months at the outset 5 years ago. Then we hit that little bump in the road and my Russells plummeted. He didn't schedule any meetings for a "long" time. My money market; my own idea did nicely untill interest rates sank. However he was angling for that too. I've come not to trust him especially since I called him about the sell order on the recent hint of dividend potential. He still wants me to liguidate half of my position. I don't want to kill the goose I've raised for the maybe golden eggs. It was pin money I kept putting away. And I put it in a lot of places and contiue to do so.(eg.) Bought 2k of PANL last May. Sorry, bragging again. I've been to the mountain, 1999. Down and now back with this one. I've had lots of disappointments. But I keep throwing darts.(They're smart darts) He keeps reminding me that the bulls make money, the bears make money, and of course the pigs get slaughtered. Frankly I'm sick of hearing that. Let me tell you about the TSENG's, the AI's, the LEVIN's , the Healthchem's, the Publicker's, the CA's(I was on board when that dropped 20 points in one day), the LTV's, the GE's, MFST's and the CSCO's.(All of the proceeding I bought high and sold low) Did I mention that little rash of margin calls in 1987 and then again in 1990. I did retire the margin account. I've never taken a dime out of the market. I did trade it around though. I've been pretty beaten up, but I am still standing. One last thing I have a 20 year old at an ivy league school. He's a junior with an above 3.9 gpa looking at med school. I do not have to dip into this stock for his schooling or anything for that matter. I've never really spent much money except 4 years ago I allowed myself to replace my 1982 Plymouth TC3 with my first Beamer.(There was ample pressure from my son. He was embarrassed for me) That car only ever went to the garage for state inspection. And all they had to do was put a sticker on it. I'm handy. I think that's it. I'm not getting any younger. Been retired since 1999. Wife is 55 and been practicing law for twenty years or so. Seems to like and doesn't plan on retiring soon. I was a biologist for 34 years. Pension with social security. I own my home. The closest I ever been to cashing in.(IDCC) Anybody with good advise? What would you do? Please be gentle. Have no desire to live like Charlie Sheen.
Peace.

Confirmation. Isn't that what you did to become a memeber of the
church=IDCC. I love it here it's so self fulling. No joke. Only took 15 or so years, put my Father-in-law in his grave, drove my very resilient Wife crazy, but I'm still here, and I'm still standing. BTW got a note form my finanacial advisor on Friday. They told, if I didn't know, that 55% precent of my portfolio was IDCC. Jeezum! How did they let me do that. The other 45% is 10%
PANL and 35% Russel or something like that. That 35% used to be worth mid 6 digits. Not anymore. Ever since I put it in that, it's only gone, well, anybody have any big gains in those kinds of securities or "investments" Please no flaming.
IMHO

Lyrics from one of my favorite songs by the Eagles. Modern
day philosophers that I could understand.
The letter that you wrote, etc.
But I'm already gone.
For what it's worth, I cued up
the vinyl and had a listen.
I,we, (The Middle River Grass) belted out our version
in our hay day. Damn it was fun.
But those days are "already gone".
Thanks Bulldzr.
