I'm doing the same. I have October 2022 $10 calls. Also January 2023 and January 2024 $10 leaps.
I agree, John, and so do my January 2023 and January 2024 $20 leaps bought last Tuesday and Wednesday.
Take a look at $10 leaps for GRWG as well. It would be difficult to find a better buy now than January 2024 $10 leaps. Of course, they were a better buy when I bought early last week when GRWG was below $8
I lost some averaging down for the past few weeks, but these tickers are both at or near the bottom. Hard to lose with a long-term hold
GLTA
I see little downside risk from here. This morning as the price went down, I bought $10 calls for February and April of 2022 and a couple of $10 calls for January 2023 and January 2024 as well.
My average is under $10 at $9.79. Who would have "thunk" it last year at this time?
Also adding MSOS and NIO leaps.

Biden and the Dems correct priorities: (sorry MJ. Wait your turn)
1. COVID Relief Bill - Done
2. Pass the roads, bridges, ports, rail, broadband infrastructure bill
2A. And the 2 (?) trillion-dollar Human infrastructure bill, including preschool, free Junior college, and funding the child tax credit, which has lifted half of the poor children out of poverty and the climate. (It's getting hot in here...)
3. Raising the Debt ceiling to prevent the collapse of the world economy. (no big deal really)
4. Voting Rights (bring on the 1950's)
5. Marijuana Legislation
I have over half of my portfolio in MJ, mostly 2024 leaps in MSOS, GRWG, MAPS and HEXO ($2). Much of the rest is in 2024 leaps in NIO, CHPT, and PLUG
MAPS will move up to $20, and probably higher, this week after Cramer advised investors in the cannabis space to skip the growers and get MAPS.

Is Aphria Stock a Buy?

"Aphria (NASDAQ: APHA) and Tilray (NASDAQ: TLRY) made headlines in December when they announced they would be joining forces. Mega-mergers like this aren't common in the cannabis industry, especially not ones that fuse a pair of its bigger players.
But investors aren't too excited about this deal -- Aphria's stock price has slid in the weeks since the announcement, from more than $8 a share to under $7. The Ontario-based pot stock is still up around 35% year to date, however, wildly outperforming the Horizons Marijuana Life Sciences ETF, which is down 3%.
Has this month's slide opened up an opportunity to buy Aphria shares at a discount, or will the merger with Tilray drag the stock even further down?"
I would say it was an opportunity, David.
I averaged up a bit by buying this morning at .46.
APHA is up 8% after hours. Tomorrow may well be a big day for APHA and the MJ sector.
I agree, Rivers. MSOS is my largest holding, followed by APHA. APHA is the best of the Canadian companies and MSOS has the best of the U.S. companies.

3 Signs Aphria Is Heading for Trouble
And its merger with Tilray may only make things worse.

"Pot giant Aphria (NASDAQ:APHA) released its latest earnings report on Jan. 14 for the second quarter ending Nov. 30, 2020, and investors were excited by the company's growth and bottom line. The stock jumped more than 20% on the news. However, the numbers weren't all great for Aphria, and there are signs that the stock could be headed for trouble.
Below, I'll look at three potential problems for the company moving forward, and examine why despite the seemingly positive results, investors may want to be careful with Aphria, especially with the stock coming fresh off a 52-week high."
I don't think much of this article. Click on the elink to read the whole article. Any other opinions this morning?
I'll 3rd Beantime. Been adding almost every day as I can. I liked this stock at twice the PPS. Of course, I sold it then, but buying now.
Bums, I do think that having long-term options close to the current PPS is risky. What are the chances that APHA will be over $10 in January of 2023? Or over $15 in a year? More like a few days or a week.
Short of a market crash bringing everything down, or a scandal at APHA, not likely with Irwin Simon, this stock will move upward all year.
No reaction to my story of MDMA use? The similarity between psychedelics and meditation are clear to anyone who has done both. I have had similar light experiences after intensive periods of meditation.
Casting pearls before swine. GLTA
I disagree, Bums. My options, including APHA and MSOS are up 100% or more with plenty of time to run much higher.

Thanks, HopeSkeptic. Just saw your post. I have been with APHA since 2017. I rode it up and way, way down, and always believed in it. Bought the $10 January 2022 call options when APHA was just over $7 on New Years Eve.
I'll be holding for a while. GLTA
A little more from the article at Mindworks.org
"Another popular explanation for the phenomenon posits that the experience of light is linked to meditation-based stimulation of the pineal gland which is situated deep in the brain at the level of the “third eye.” Some would suggest that visions of light indicate that the “third eye is opening.”
Should I be excited about seeing light?
That depends on your motivation. While there are a good many stories of the “I opened my third eye, saw the lights, and have regretted it ever since” kind on internet, most people speak of their experiences with a mix of curiosity and gratitude. Some meditation-related practices, both traditional and New Age, actually focus on arousing experiences of light. For example, in certain Buddhist visualization practices, the meditator imagines light as an expression of lovingkindness and wisdom that touches all living beings, relieves them of their suffering and endows them with lasting happiness. This deliberate visualization method is not related to the experiences of light that may arise from the lack of sensory input connected to deep states of meditation.
As meditator and sobriety activist Tokpa Korlo explains in his Mind Talk, one purpose of regular mindfulness practice is to develop love and compassion for others. Being rooted in the present moment helps individuals appreciate the beauty of now. As a result, they develop an overriding peace of mind and well-being that they naturally want to share with others. The ability to mindfully appreciate the power of now is the basis for more active inquiry into the nature of the mind and how best to use the insights gained to benefit others and the world.
You may possibly have a “white light experience” during your mindfulness or awareness meditation session; just embrace it as a natural part of your practice. If you’re practicing mindfulness, you can regard the light as another mental event, acknowledge it, and go back to your practice. If you’re practicing awareness meditation, the white light experience can be integrated into your investigation of mind."
https://mindworks.org/blog/why-do-some-people-see-white-light-during-meditation/
MDMA literally changed my life at 18 years old back in 1971 when my brother gave me a tab of MDMA. I had what I call a "white light" experience, where the physical world disappeared and I was surrounded by white light. After some unknown amount of time, which seemed like forever, the world reappeared, in a way I have always described as "beaming down" like in the old Star Trek TV shows of the 60's.
I just found this good description on a website called Mindworks.org
An article published in Frontiers of Psychology magazine in 2014 presents the results of a pilot study investigating this phenomenon among regular meditators. The article, A phenomenology of meditation-induced light experiences: traditional Buddhist and neurobiological perspectives, is a very well-rounded exploration of the subject seen from the perspectives of several different Buddhist schools. The experiences as described in Table 1 of the article give a good sampling of the kinds of light perception incidents that have been linked to meditation. For example, one participant states, “I was just bursting with light, I would just close my eyes and it was just brilliant light. I just felt like I was radiating, like there were rays of light coming out of me. … It felt like it was just emanating from my body and my system.”
One of the researchers’ suggestions is that the experience of lights during meditation is similar to that during sensory deprivation. In their conclusion, the authors state: “Investigating meditation-induced light experiences suggests that on account of restricting attention by deselecting sensory stimuli, certain meditation practices may function in a manner analogous to sensory deprivation and perceptual isolation. The arising of lights may signal a period of enhanced neuroplasticity and potential for important and enduring shifts.”
Yes! What a day. My options are exploding. Up 100%. My portfolio is almost all options now.
Congrats to everyone holding.
Kaboom! Kaboom! Chich a Boom Boom!
Our time has arrived. Been in and out of APHA since 2017. Now is the time to get in and stay awhile.
Very well run company. I felt that the bummed out attitude of many on this board after the first news of the merger was funny.
Also, thanks to the poster who mentioned that Tiray owns Leafly. I was using Weedmaps until now, but with finding out on the board yesterday that Tilray owns Leafly, I checked it out. It is so much better. A lot of information in some very thoughtful and even funny reviews of strains. One woman wrote that she fell asleep on the kitchen floor, actually feeling glued to the floor. Guess which strain she was reviewing? Yeah, right - Gorilla GLue. She even wrote LOL in her review. Easily the best site I've found.
Gonna be adding to my January 2022 and January 2023 $10 and $15 calls. I posted about buying some calls on New Year's Eve. Also adding April, 2021 $10 calls. I prefer calls over buying the stock. Feeling appropriately aggressive.
Also, holding MSOS to get the best of the U.S. MSO's.
GLTA
Riversrun, I think that your concerns over Dems taxation policy is overblown. Corporate leaders favor Dem minimal control over Congress. Please remember that the stock market always does better under the Dems (Clinton, Obama) than Republicans (Bush, Tr**p). Look it up.
And I just heard on Bloomberg that corporate leaders favor Dems control. The stimulus provided by Dems, if they have control, will be far more important for moving markets than fears of a tax cut. Besides, having only 50 seats in the Senate, with Republicans holding 50 will be check enough on taxation policy. Do you recall what a tough time Obama had with 59 Senators?
In either scenario, pot stocks will flourish, so it only matters a little bit. Good luck in your trading.
I just bought a $7.50 call for January 2022 and one $10 call for January 2023. If or as the PPS continues to go down, I will add more of both. Should be easy to reach or exceed those levels. Small risk and a potentially big reward.
Happy New Year!
Unifor and Aleafia Health partner on groundbreaking medical cannabis coverage
TORONTO – Unifor, Canada’s largest private-sector union, and Aleafia Health Inc. (TSX: AH, OTC: ALEAF), have entered a long-term partnership that through collective bargaining will seek to provide access for its members to medical cannabis coverage as part of their benefit and insurance coverage.
“This is a landmark agreement, with a union and a medical cannabis company coming together to provide dedicated support through medical marijuana clinics across the country while challenging the stigmas associated with cannabis,” said Jerry Dias, Unifor National President. “Partnering with Aleafia Health allows us to fight against Canada’s opiate crisis, and improve the lives of patients suffering from chronic pain.”
Unifor will work with its local unions to recommend and propose insurance coverage in collective bargaining agreements for the reimbursement of medical cannabis. In turn, Aleafia Health and its affiliates will provide Unifor members with access to its health and wellness ecosystem, including education and training, physician-led consultations, scripting, treatment and, where appropriate, medical cannabis products.
“This is a significant moment for the cannabis industry, and an important breakthrough for medical cannabis accessibility in Canada. Every day, our team of medical professionals see the benefits of cannabis in the lives of our patients,” said Aleafia Health CEO Geoffrey Benic. “Due to the progressive leadership of Unifor, and Aleafia Health’s well-earned reputation for providing excellence in cannabinoid therapy, we will be able to expand these benefits to union members across Canada.”
Increased access to medical cannabis coverage may also provide further cost savings and health benefits to both members and employers, including a reduction in reliance on traditional pharmaceutical prescriptions.
The two parties have signed a binding letter of intent which outlines the terms of one or more definitive agreements. Details of the proposed transaction are to be settled following comprehensive due diligence between Aleafia Health and Unifor, and the closing of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including approval by each party’s respective board of directors.

Hold? I sold half of my MMEDF a few days ago and bought FUBO. Will buy back my shares soon. Watching closely
I sold my $5 calls last week (just a few), and today, after the price drop, I bought some $10 January, 2023 calls.
I feel that we are near the bottom.
I sold my $5 calls of APHA this morning, although it was painful since I was up over 100% and had expected to hold them for a long time. With the proceeds, I bought some shares of TLRY (my first) and added to my MSOS and CNBS. I also recommend taking a look at calls for MSOS as well as GRWG. My April GRWG $50 calls were up 47% today and 87% for the past week.
Before everyone goes to sleep, I just want to say that I agree 100% with GoSing. But, hey, we are all here since we like APHA. I am wondering what my April $10 calls will look like in eight hours. Also, my $5 calls that I bought in mid-October. It feels good to be on the right side of a surprise.

I like the blue color. It's the same color as my car.
MSOS, the U.S. MJ ETF is a core holding for me. It has CRLBF, CURLF, GTBIF, TCNNF, and other U.S. companies.
Thanks for the suggestions. I have started adding March $5 and $6 Calls. The worst of the pandemic is supposed to be beginning in 2-3 weeks, and then intensifying through at least January and February, and into March. The shock to the economy will be greater than expected. The death toll will double from here to well over half a million before enough people are immunized to stop the spread.
I am no longer expecting a crash, but a 10% correction in the next month or two seems likely. I do not expect the SPY or DOW to maintain today's highs or continue upward, but who knows in the short-term.
And 135,000 new Covid cases today. Hospitals are filling up. The Cheeto in Chief wants to go out with a bang, firing anyone left in his administration that will stand in his way for these last 70 days. "Very, very dark times ahead" with Covid-19 and very, very dark times ahead in Trump's head.
And yet, nothing seems to stop the euphoria. I think the euphoria will turn into dysphoria soon. I keep adding cheap January 15th, 2021 $5 calls.
I agree, and loaded up on January, 2021 call options.
Also, a bunch for August 14th, to play the bounce from today's overdone decline.
If it goes down again tomorrow, I will add more 2021 and 2022 call options.
So do I. It's clear to me who is better for this industry. GLTU

Make Marijuana Great Again. Stick with Democrats in November
How high will it go???
PPS trying to hold 4.20 again.
Back in January, when I heard about the Ontario "plan" to add 20 stores per month starting in April to their 24, I was kinda skeptical of their conviction or competence to get it done.
Well, it looks like they are doing it. This is very good news for the whole Canadian MJ industry. And yet APHA has continued down, down, down by more than 20% from $5.24 on June 9th, to $4.14 today.
Time to buy a few more January, 2021 $4 and $5 calls.
And also add to my January, 2022 $3.50 calls
Been adding here for a couple of weeks. Also $8 and $9 options for July, September and January, 2021. Risk/Reward is very favorable.
"Yeah!!! They will have a reverse split watch and see. That's the only way they will get this over a $1.00. This company can't seem to get it together or management is way over paid for their performance."
Really? A RS is the only way to get this over $1. They were over a dollar just two days ago on Tuesday.
They will be back over $1 a lot sooner than "never" without a reverse split. Watch and see.
