What? Does no one follow this stock anymore?
Looks like JCP managed to take 7th place today among the biggest percent decliners. I never would have believed it. I'm now down nearly 16% since I bought in two days ago. I'm hoping for a big bounce tomorrow when cooler heads prevail.
I believe so.
http://www.thestreet.com/story/12291676/1/analysis-j-c-penney-outlook-based-on-debt-trading-and-options-flow.html?puc=yahoo&cm_ven=YAHOO
"At this point (JCP down a few cents Friday morning) traders involved in JCP debt are likely to have the best picture of what the market makes of JCP in the long term.
Debt trading is less transparent than equity or options, but one trader I spoke with said the debt was implying a better chance of survival for JCP than he would have expected so I may look for an upside trade in JCP. The super-juiced vol and skew make puts the best sale, which may sound dicey, but with shares near $6, there is only that much risk remaining in the stock. An upside call position is also worth a look, with that steep skew and defined risk working in the buyer's favor."
What could this mean? Looks to me like a bright spot.
I hope you're right because I just "joined" for 6,000 shares. I'm about ready for another winner. I was in that big pop the other day in Facebook but got out too soon and left 2/3 of my profit on the table. Then I got massacred on an earnings play where no less than 15 analysts called for the company to beat estimates.
I'm not sure but I'm about to get back in JCP again even though I swore I never would. I lost about $25k on this stock a couple of months back. I could never get on the right side of the table no matter what I did. The only retail stock I stuck with was Mattel and I just took a massive hit on it this morning. I'm out on the next bounce and will be picking up a few thousand shares of JCP for one last ride.
I don't know why I punish myself like this!
I think what we have here is a classic inverted toilet bowl!
In for 945 shares for a quick pop tomorrow morning. I guess I'm the only one playing this stock.
I guess I'm the only one that believes in the company....at least for this earning report.
Tick Tock Tick Tock....the tension mounts!
Thanks. Tradeking is only $4.95 per trade which is great but they don't offer much in the way of after hours....just an hour in the evening and 1 1/2 hours in the morning. I missed out on a huge profits a couple of weeks ago on the CHTP FDA vote. I already opening a Scottrade account for $7 trade and great after hours but I still need an account for penny stocks.
I'll check out TDAmeritrade tomorrow.
What trading platform are you using. I use tradeking and they won't let me buy anything under a penny.
It's called fear!
Sometimes they simply have to sell some to generate cash to cover taxes. I imagine that's all that's going on.
I managed to pick up some share at 2.22 this morning but not all I wanted. It is looking like a gap up though. I did manage to to make a bad trade too by taking a position in PBMD. It looked like it was gonna run up on news but has now fallen back.
Oh well...you win some you lose some!
Especially the shorts. My trading house won't even let me short a stock like this, probably because it's so cheap right now. Plus...it's not a marginable stock either. I made the mistake of putting too much cash into this then holding overnight taking my day trading buying power to practically nothing. I should have called and checked with my broker before I sold this morning.
This isn't one you'd want to be holding overnight if you're a short or a trader. Good news could come overnight and potentially wipe out a short or bad news could come and relieve a long of half their investment.
Well I'm out for now. It now looks like I picked the wrong time to sell and took a little loss on it today but I'll be back. I rarely hold stocks like this overnight in this particular trading account but I did, so now I have to sit and watch until tomorrow.
It looks like you may have a green day to after all. Good luck!
I can't believe we've had nearly 4.5 million shares traded with so little movement. It's all happened within about 5 ticks.
Finally some upticks in the ask!
So what's this news that's gonna drive us to green by noon?
So what's this news that's gonna drive us to green by noon?
Alright here we go! Good luck to all today!
It's less than 300k shares in over 4 hours of pre-market trading? I don't call that a lot.
There is some movement but the volume isn't there. In premarket, a 2,000 share buy or sell can move the price a percent or two.
Could you re-babble that in English please. I didn't quite understand it.
I'm not so sure about that It's looking like it's gonna gap down at open about 15 or 20 points from yesterday's close. Additionally, I think we're gonna see some sell off from some of the people who got in just for the short term play.
My guess is an open around 2.00 and a rather quick move to the 2.00 mark before it starts climbing again. A finish above 2.40? I kind of doubt that today without news.
This stock looks good to me. What's holding this stock back?
I just don't see why the FDA didn't give another date. It just doesn't make sense. I would think that they would just set another date and if they had to extend it again, they just do that.
I think the stock now is going find it's level tomorrow, hopefully about where it is now ($2,25), and then begin a slow walk down over the time it takes to get further news.
Perhaps...but it might just as well have been an attempt to keep interest high even though they might suspect that the response may be weeks or months away.
What better way than to to style it like they did rather than just saying what they do or don't know.
I'm just saying lawyers climb all over that stuff when a lawsuit gets going.
It's back up to $2.33 in after hours. I think that is a really good sign!
It's meaningless. What's a "significant period of time"? A week? Two weeks? A month? Two months?
I don't understand why they put that in there at all. No wonder they are getting sued.
I would be surprised if the company requested that, if a delay was coming, requested that a specific date for a response not be included in the notification this time. It makes the company look bad, even if it's not their fault, when date are kept.
Just a thought.
Back up above 2.20...damn! I'm back in the money again!
I don't show that.....bid= $2.19 / ask = $2.20
Hundreds of millions? Try $1.6 Billion in Market Capitalization!
bid/ask just collapsed to 2.08/2.15
this isn't good news must be bad
What trading house are you using?
19 million shares traded. Looks like 2.47 is the new support. Traders about to load up again.
yep...definitely a good day trade. They'll be getting back in shortly.
Nonsense!
