1. Sanofi reportedly in talks for $20B U.S. deal
Sanofi-Aventis is plotting a big acquisition in the U.S., sources tell Bloomberg, but there's no word yet on the identity of the supposed target. What they do say is that the deal may be worth $20 billion or more--a price that would top what Sanofi's spent on all its acquisitions since Christopher Viehbacher took over as CEO in 2008.
Viehbacher reportedly briefed Sanofi's board on the potential deal at a special meeting this week. The company wouldn't comment on the "market rumors" for either Bloomberg, Reuters or the Wall Street Journal. Analysts named Allergan (market value of $17 billion) and Biogen Idec ($12.5 billion) as possible targets.
Now, we all know Sanofi is in the market for acquisitions. "They've been very clear external growth is part of their plan," Pictet Asset Management's Marc Booty told the news service. But the French drugmaker typically goes for bite-sized deals. Sanofi has snapped up 25 companies during Viehbacher's tenure, Bloomberg notes, which puts the average deal size at $680 million. And the biggest of those deals was the $4 billion acquisition of Merck's half of their animal health joint venture, Merial.
So, a $20 billion deal would be an anomaly--not an impossibility, but definitely a departure from Viehbacher's modus operandi. Indeed, Viehbacher himself told Bloomberg in February that he'd like to stick to deals of $15 billion or less.
Good idea to buy here and hold until $100...or sell 1/2 at $50 and then RETIRE!!
Did Fisher ever get prison time?
Bad Day in the markets, and.....

Sanofi plans 'industrial scale' PhIII program for dengue vaccine
By John Carroll
Faced with the resurgence of dengue in the U.S.--where it hasn't been seen in 65 years--and around the world, Sanofi-Aventis says that it is ramping up an "industrial scale" series of late-stage trials for a new vaccine with blockbuster potential.
According to a report in the New York Times, Sanofi's new vaccine could earn between $750 million and $1 billion a year as the virus spreads globally. In the U.S., dengue has been popping up along the Mexican border and health officials around the world are reporting fresh outbreaks with no drugs available to combat the epidemics.
"If everything goes well, we will have Phase 3 trials on an industrial scale by the end of the year," Sanofi vaccine chief Jean Lang tells the Times. According to Lang, the disease triggers 100 million new cases a year and kills some 25,000.
The worst cases trigger dengue hemorrhagic fever and the dengue shock syndrome, which can trigger a fatal case of internal bleeding. Sanofi is planning late-stage trials which will recruit thousands of people for each study.

LIQUIDITY AND FINANCIAL CONDITION
Our cash balance at February 28, 2010 and 2009 was $nil with outstanding liabilities of $61,052 and $14,625 respectively and loans payable of $183,213 and $48,289 respectively. Based on our current operating plan, we do not expect to generate revenue that is sufficient to cover our expenses for at least the next year. In addition, we do not have sufficient cash and cash equivalents to execute our operations for the next year. We will need to obtain additional financing to operate our business for the next twelve months. We will raise the capital necessary to fund our business through a private placement and public offering of our common stock. Additional financing, whether through public or private equity or debt financing, arrangements with shareholders or other sources to fund operations, may not be available, or if available, may be on terms unacceptable to us. Our ability to maintain sufficient liquidity is dependent on our ability to raise additional capital. If we issue additional equity securities to raise funds, the ownership percentage of our existing shareholders would be reduced. New investors may demand rights, preferences or privileges senior to those of existing holders of our common stock. Debt incurred by us would be senior to equity in the ability of debt holders to make claims on our assets. The terms of any debt issued could impose restrictions on our operations. If adequate funds are not available to satisfy either short or long-term capital requirements, our operations and liquidity could be materially adversely affected and we could be forced to cease operations.

OVID, I for one will not call you a LIAR to your Face BUT:
Per Allan in his blog this weekend:
NNVC
As for NNVC, here is the last few sentences of my Weekend Update, just sent out to subscribers:
My only exception to this rule [Respect the Trends] has been NNVC and you all know how well that stubbornness has paid off.....NOT. Nonetheless, my reasons for buying and holding NNVC are as strong as ever and I have not sold a single share. One of these days, from a beach in Hawaii, I will point with pride at this strategy before passing out drunk in the surf. If you see me, please pull me back onto the sand. Thank you very much.
Ovid, Allan has never sold a share of NNVC!!
I think Dr Feelgood states: THE SYSTEM, not health care.
U.S Health care is very good, the System is broken as I'm sure you will agree.
God Bless you John and Thank you Robert....the boards condolences to you. John will be watching down on NNVC.
Brokerage houses work for us and themselves...They trade NNVC and numerous other penny stocks themselves and make huge money for their firms.
To play in the “Penny Stock” market, you need to enlist the help of savvy penny stock advisors, traders and brokers that deal with them, otherwise you will be at a major disadvantage. The big brokerage houses may not let you buy or sell penny stocks; however, their trading desks all trade them for their own accounts.
Hello Piecemaker....Fidelity fills trades nicely but I find their customer service via email horrible, takes days to respond and sometimes don't respond at all. Also, they charge larger commissions for stocks under $1 I believe...don't get caught there. Fidelity did free up the NNVC Private Placement shares expediently though, I think they wanted me to sell them quick, that's the feeling I got.
