Read the Dumas Letter.
He mentions that Sanswire III will be delivered early 2007 to a South American company.
The 10K states that Globetel has entered into a JV to deploy stratellites throughout Columbia, including a price for delivery
Did my DD. Columbian drug cartels will be watched, from a stratellite
Scarecrow
Not sure where you heard about 300 strats on '06
Consider for a moment the idea of so many new tech objects floating all over the world. Seems a tad risky.
According to Dumas shareholder letter:
First commercial strat expected to be released early '07
Columbia will use it for border security and communications
Some farmers might also be under watchfull eyes, imo
For those that are that way inclined, the price of powdering your nose might be much higher in the future
I believe the GlobetelX gateways were also announced with limited exposure.
Doc
In support of your assumptions about institutionals:
These guys bought before the Russian deal was announced
Since then Globetel has only shown potential improvements:
-Got rid of debt
-Announced GlobetelX VOIP PBX gateway
-Started 90 day testing of stratelite
-Showed WiMax potential
My question is thus:
If they were buying at $2 on the way to $4 in Dec,
what has changed in the fundamentals to let them sell now?
Any money thrown at this type of stock would be speculative anyway
and should thus be more risk tolerant
If a contract constitutes a material event, he would be obliged to release the info
It is still not clear why CFIUS would apply to this deal
Internafta is bying a product from Globetel.
They are not getting control of Globetel
(unless there is more behind lowtrade's curtain
"The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) reviews the national security implications of foreign acquisitions of U.S. companies or operations"
This from US Treasury website:
"The President can exercise this authority under section 721 (also known as the "Exon-Florio provision") to block a foreign acquisition of a U.S. corporation only if he finds:
(1) there is credible evidence that the foreign entity exercising control might take action that threatens national security, and
(2) the provisions of law, other than the International Emergency Economic Powers Act do not provide adequate and appropriate authority to protect the national security.
To assist in making this determination, Exon-Florio provides for the President or his designee to receive written notice of an acquisition, merger or takeover of a U.S. corporation by a foreign entity. Once CFIUS has received a complete notification, it begins a thorough review of the notified transaction. In some cases, it is necessary to undertake an extended review or "investigation." An investigation, if necessary, must begin no later than 30 days after receipt of a notice. Any investigation is required to end within 45 days."
It would appear the 45 review does not apply to this deal
Pit
Considering that the funds will be to create a JV in Europe, using European banks:
Does the US Congress even have jurisdiction?
Would this deal even need a 45 day review?
Money Flow went positive within 30 minutes of news
After initial outflow of over $3M, Money flow turned positive to the tune of $2M
That's over $5M inflow from lows.
The question is how much of that was from sideliners that do not pray at russian deal altar
Seems like plenty smart money waiting at squid's support levels
Seems like a contradiction:
Has been approved, subject to
Either its approved or its not...
JKN
I read that the money is not there.
Seems like Internafta applied for financing, something that was not evident at signing
Thus Globetel trying to put some pressure on Internafta to pay or go away
orlander
Not sure anybody can answer your ?
There has been no indication on the profitability
I doubt if margins would have been foremost in gte minds during talks.
As for the final hour of trading today
Think some techs could have waited for a retrace to the symmetrical triangle
esp after the double top at 3.59
The bounce off the triangle was the confirmation of a long term uptrend and a buy signal
Any reason why the bounce (3.19) off the sym traingle of last 2 months does not confirm the breakout from the triangle?
Seems like a confirmation of continuation pattern since H&S reversal in Sept '05
Intel to release WiMax cards in the second half of this year
http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/news/2151519/intel-ready-wimax-cards
Strange how the info on GlobetelX is in pdf format.
Previous release on Russian deal was in html, and had a heading "Press Release"
This one does not.
Today's info appears to have been updated since this morning
Could be a work in progress?

Thank you, you were the wiser, as always
Hugging the upper BB, also looks a little overbought
Will wait till it comes in to hopefully bottom trendline, somewhere in the 2.50 area

Trying to learn: Would today's DMI+ move in VTSS indicate normal entry point for you
ADX is moving up and DMI+ 'bounced' of it
This is total speculation: How golden could a GTE and Earthlink relationship be?
It would appear the GTE WiMax box would fit Earthlink needs to a T
Again, pure speculation
A lack of overtly positive diehards hints at a bottom
Consider a lack of yesterdays guidance.
The calls for SEC investigation would have been even more rampant
vankent
Deutsche Telekom is installing fixed lines, needing a large amount of physical running of the wires
The GTE deal is based on wireless WiMax tech. Install a base station and test the reach
Keep in mind that the Joint Venture (JVCo) will employ up to a thousand people to set this up, as per press relase in early Jan

OT Make sure you have Macromedia Flash 8 installed
Its possible that recent correction created fresh new hands
The large volume on dec 30 happened at around 3.70
Some took profit on the way to 4.49
Others were nervous and got shook on the retrace
Smarter money waited for inevetable retrace
They are now collecting
eg some large asks got gobbled into the close yesterday
Knew they could collect without chasing the bid
Just a theory, please abuse it
PS also not conviced about any money transfer PR
lowtrade
GAAP specifies that loss carryforwards can be used in any one of the following seven years after the loss was experienced.
Thanks for the info on Mr T
Still green and patient, so no iggy
Enjoy shooting fish. Trains me
I also believe we could have some fresh hands
Leaving pessimism without answering just creates doubt
Once again, thank you

You:121 Million OUTSTANDING SHARES
Article:With more than 121 million FULLY DILUTED shares outstanding
3rd quarter filing stated:121,279,889 fully diluted
No need to be freightened, we appear to have no increase at all
BTW Fully Diluted Shares
This is the number of shares of Common Stock that would be outstanding if all convertible securities were converted to Common.
You:$55 Million losses over past several years.
Shareholders care about the future. GTE has a real, lucrative deal of $600M. 10% margin would cover all those losses
Your concern over Strat is well founded
However, it is a work in progress. Any revenues from that in the next year would be only a bonus, and frankly, a surprise
The Columbian investment is different from the Russian deal
Columbia will invest in Strat, and as noted its at least 6-12 months from viability
The Russian deal is just that: A deal, with money
It includes a working tech with major prospects
It is a fundamental shift from past LOI announcements
Stored value cards is new concept in new markets with possible competition. Not sure about earnings potential
Paul Taboda is a shareholder with tainted past from before CEO
Not sure why he would need CEO "support" or why it reflects on CEO integrity
Short interest is up, however GTE is off naked short list
If PPS would reflect some of the fundamentals, a squeeze could happen
SEBASS
Not sure where you got your quote, but it would appear to be different from the dow jones article
Your final line: "but Mr. Huff continued the relationship"
Dow Jones article: "According to GlobeTel filings, Taboada consulted with the company for many years and is now an investor in a class of its preferred stock."
The article states that Paul Taboada was an analyst that created a report on ADG that contained "material misrepresentations and omissions" for which he was fined and suspended
(ADG was the old GTE, before the current CEO joined)
Your quote creates the impression that CEO is maintaining a relationship with this individual that was around before he was CEO, from which you deduce that CEO has "no integrity"
The article only states that Taboada is still invested.
Your accusation is serious and needs further substantiation

Pardon my ignorance:
What does "? = 147,900" mean
went through some large asks in the end
Nice
That is the action that took us down yesterday
AMEX moved whole lot @ ask down
Yup, press release seems desperate and spikes the price
An article gives semblance of independance
A good day without news would be even better
It is entirely possible that many were waiting for entry point after first Russian announcement
Yesterday's correction could well have been that entry point
These could all be fresh shareholders
In fact, I would prefer we get no news today.
3.45 on CNBC ticker...

A poster yesterday mentioned 3.00 margin call
I seem to remember from our previous ride that 2.50
was mentioned that time.
Guess it depends on brokerage.
If we close above, would the margin call expire?

Might be speculating, but this would explain the need to get rid of the Aug financiers. Seem to remember that Time article mentioning Hedge funds being able to create shares (collateral)
IMO it took about 200K shares to do this.
Tuesday afternoon a wall showed up at 90K @ 3.36
Whole thing got moved down but some resistance took it back to 3.36
Today same thing happened 50K @ 3.26
Move wall to 3.20 resistance and thar she goes
Cannot blame retail too much. GTE still speculative and I am sure there were stop losses in place
Not a train smash, though.
Like you said, GTE has money prospect and I suspect financiers probably would want to hold a core, in case Huff blows a puff
Then again, deep pockets would not want to pay too much for functioning company, now would they
