Clinging to the hope!
... and that does what to 'our' AU? With POG soaring though 700?
Thanks. Clarifying. I've been here long enough to remember very healthy figures from the Colombian side. Producers are finding no difficulty in raising new equity, so shouldering up to/selling out to/merging with cash-rich co's should be possible. But then - the more precice and valuable the proven resources are, the higher the price of selling will be.
Compared with "old" prices above $1, the POG's significantly higher and the exploration has advanced. That doesn't make sense, but I suppose it's "The Market" having fun with us...
Good hunting!

Findings here, findings there - huge deposits, highly valued - what about getting into the earth and getting revenue from all this? How far off are we production and how can SURE possibly finance exploration? Can any of this be sold off?
If this company had any life expectancy, wouldn't the price reflect slightly more than .2 of a $?
Just curious...
20 % up (+) on half a million shares traded?
Not normal, but suits the festive holidays, I suppose?
Anything worth while knowing going on?
Merry Christmas!
I have no idea whatsoever as to evaluating the figures. However, it seems to me that the Au/t-ratios are small, aren't they? Is this viable production amounts?
SURely, SUR has no financial muscle to roll in the full scale production either, so would our best quess be analyze - then sell?
Just sinking lower & lower. Running out of cash? Processing the yellow stuff too far out in the future? Loosing patience?
Some comforting words would be most welcome...
Together they might be strong?

Crew has the financial muscles SUR lacks.
I can like that - as I like BGO. Being capable of showing the good in the current market is impotant. Being able to show for healthy potential is pouring petrol to the flames....
Can we expect to see double digits, or is that way off target?
Interesting. Any sign traded volume is reflecting this speculation?
I never saw any posting on their selling of shares? That puts me back a bit. Did they offer any excuse ("need to sell a few shares because just bought a small yacht", or something)?
Very quiet for a gang of sane people silently watching as their investments crumble a dry soil between their fingers...
From 120 to 70 does sort of hurt, so I'd like to guess that someone's trying to shake loose some nervous investors. Care to discuss?
Why does this piece of news make the stock plunge 18%?
Still seems to have a bit in it:
http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?c=bgo
RSI on its way up (72), but we should look for what the POG does. 700? 800? xxxx?
Where would we (and the POG) be without the help from the White House?
Trigger happiness seems to fuel the rally. Let's hope is stirrs things up for Rennie & Co.
Ah! Isn't this fun! A review of 'ol friends in Colombia. Brings back fond memories for all of the really old longs.
What's this?
The way it's written, choice of expression: It all seemed VERY strange. A bullish shareholder trying to attract interest? Not serious.
No sweat. I'm truly looking forward to it. Seeing how AU shares are performing, it would be sweet to have something solid to show for - that ought to set us up for some real trading volume. With volume: price.
Good luck to Rennie and his fellow prospectors. We're cheering you on all the way to the bank!
Yuck - on more volume than the usual 500 shares
Anybody sent Rennie a mail?
The market clearly didn't consider todays press release as being terribly bullish. Any thoughs about consequences?
Wednesday came and went..
Did anyting happen?
Supposed to be quite a lot of the yellow stuff down there. Touchy area, though... I'd take three digits anytime: Show me the green stuff, and I'll hand over the deeds!
SUR will be around. Patiently awaiting the news...
Can SUR be in a position to sell Colombian fields?? Do they have anything to sell there?

While I'm on the subject: Yesterdays trading in SUR showed some promise: Picking up another 3 cents on increasing volume (although still well within Mickey Mouse size). I'd like to think that it shows something:
1. Someone is picking before news. Maybe some news have already reached some remote corner?
2. Whenever the slightest volume is traded, price is under pressure. When interest around SUR starts some regular and serious trading, the price equilibrium might be a bit further North.
3. Santa's early
Wbrislin: I don't think the world is quite that simple. Should huge amounts of capital be directed into AU shares, it would push prices. But pushing prices will not influence earnings. At some point, all the other investors will find that the price is high enough to sell - because the capitalized value of the company has surpassed any realism. At that point, since fund managers aren't all that thick in their heads, the money will have found other investments.
However, if the funds were directed towards buying AU itself, things would look different (for a while). That would influence the POG and subsequently the share values.
This isn't bad either:

Double top break-out.
In that case, here something that's not pathetic: Up 10% today.
Anyone able to comments upon this?

Not too encourageing, but leverage can't be bad if the rate of return is satisfactory?
Take-over? You can have mine for $3 anyday (this year)
I do agree with you, but you say it yourself: We are a select few... Pioneers? I've been long since 1997 or thereabouts, so there no lack of patience in this corner, I can tell you. I do hope things will turn out in wealth for all, but the bonanza has not (yet) reached SUR.
I like enthusiasts, and would be proud to be counted among them, but honestly: The POG is going through the roof, and today 217 shares were traded in SUR. It would be a great exageration to say this co is surrounded with broad interest...
If you bought more yesterday, you can't have cleaned out your pockets entirely: Total volume 16,000 (CAD 10,000) is not exactly proof of a market gearing up for the big eruption.
Don't misunderstand what I'm saying: I wish you all the best for the topping up, and I too am looking forward to some solid results.
Good hunting to all!
There is an international standard (more or less) for measuring inflation (or consumer price index). Makes it somewhat easier to compare across borders. Energy & housing costs are held outside the core inflation.
However tantalizing the future: Seems SUR's not reacting to the short term POG. Keeping fingers X'ed for Rennies ability of getting volume into the share!
A general observation: We (humans) seek to confirm our beliefs. Being long in a AU stock means we will actively seek out information confirming POG going North. One who has gone short or momentarily not in the business would tend to promote the opposite.
These observations are human - and do not apply all the time and for all people, but it is a good idea to have it in mind when trying to decide what to do.
Good hunting - and may the POG reach limits we have never imagined in our wettest, wildest dreams...
Good point, graniterock: Remember what the company's name is? Sur American Gold. My Spanish isn't perfect, but I know what that means...
The sort of traded volume we see on a day like this - 58,000 - represents approx 40 K$. It's a ridiculously low figure. The rare (but happy) days where some "real" volume is seen, always pushes the price North in handsome jumps.
When results, JVs or whatever provokes serious interest, there does not seem to be any real resistance upwards. The patient medium size investor has only to pull out a couple of days to let the price fall back and pick another handfull of cheap ones.
May the POG make it slightly more difficult for the share price to drop back. Good hunting, all.
What ever happened to the huge interest in Colombia? There was AU in plenty there at one point.
Have any good links to charts?
