If Apple uses LQMT in any product they might try to be silent about it but word would get eventually, not if, the question would be when it would be come known that Apple was using LQMT. When it became known that Apple was LQMT in a product LQMT would definitely go way up well over the $1.00 mark probably closer to $3.00. Look what happened in 2010 with just a piece of paper called a license agreement?
Have they reported anything from the MD&M West Event that was the 12th - 14th?
I think when Tom Steipp said this is a young man's stock: he possibly implied somewhere in the neighborhood at the time he said that of a 2 year old young man?
Charles Schwab is saying this Tuesday - March 8th
So it seems to me the question is: what happened to the LQMT golf clubs from say 20 years ago or so? 16 years ago I owned plenty of LQMT shares and I don't remember the golf clubs really making those shares increase in value at all? So what happened? I take it that sweet spot didn't sell millions of clubs? Then I remember seeing Lindsey Vonn and her skis on the LQMT website. I think that was the reason I bought LQMT stock - I was a skier not a golfer. Although maybe it was the picture of Miss Vonn that enticed me to buy LQMT
A gulf club has very little to do with your ability to golf well maybe 1 or 2 percent ends up being the clubs. Golf is 98% your athletic, concentration, technique, physical ability, training, and practice. Tiger Woods could still beat any advanced non professional anywhere in the World with the worst set of clubs from Walmart.
Now all we need is for TC to announce a LQMT ski deal with K2 or someone ski company like that, then put the picture backup with Lindsey Vonn and her skis and will really understand the past!
Almost - thanks for this post, it is helpful to remember why we are invested in LQMT! I get very discouraged at times after being in LQMT for over 16 years now - since 2006. Your post gives me hope that LQMT can succeed eventually. Good Job!
Chip - I was wondering what the option price was so you are right they will wait and see what happens obviously to LQMT share price. What about there current shares and the ones that vest on their termination date? If they unload all those shares do they have to report that?
Don't know what Steipp did - don't executives even after being terminated have to report on an SEC form what they do with options and shares? I could be wrong maybe not so maybe there will be no way to find out?
I think the best thing we can keep an eye on going forward is what will B & B do with there vested shares and options. If they hang on to their vested shares (don't sell) and execute their options for more shares (buy) then I would think that means they believe the company does have significant potential? However if they dump their shares and don't execute there options then that would say a lot to me about how they feel about the potential of LQMT? I mean yes they never did a great job but don't you think they have a fairly good idea what is really going on inside that place?
According to Charles Schwab history of LQMT it reached a $1.76 on 8/9/2010. I actually was watching it trade that day and I was a idiot for not pushing the SELL button!
Has anyone heard anything of the MD&M West Anaheim Convention?
In general "Vesting" means you get the stock for no cost - I worked for CBS for many years and every year they put X shares of CBS stock into an account (where X was a percentage of our salary). However I did not actually own the shares at that time: they "vested" (were given to me over time): 1/3rd of X became mine after 1 year, 1/3rd after 2 years, and the last 1/3rd after 3 years. I did not pay for them they just "vested" (became mine per above formula). CBS administration always referred to this as "vesting".
Most officers / staff of CBS were offered "Options" that is they were offered the ability to buy (option) shares in CBS for a very good price (usually way below market) in the future (usually 1 to 2 years in the future, sometimes as much as 3 years in the future). If they took the "Option" in the future, they bought the shares with their own money, if they did NOT take the "Option" they did not buy the shares and the shares in that option just disappeared at the option expiration date. Note the only reason they would not take the "Option" to buy the shares for the original set price was if the current market for CBS shares was below what the "Option" price was, then of course they could just buy on the open market for less than the "Option".
Research - I know why: It was the redesigned web page that did it! ( sarcastic joke )
After August 9th can we start a new one of these - "when will we hit .60 cents" lists? We need something on this LQMT board to do, because at some point, no one will be talking about LQMT. Then again maybe the new list will end up being "when will we hit .06 cents"?
Is anyone on this list planning to attend the ASHM?
By the way, it is an interesting question to think about - "why would they bother having an ASHM?" - they haven't had one in over 3 years, so why now?
I'm holding for now, have been since fall of 2006, if that's not the definition of patience, nothing is.
Has anyone heard from Zion about their decision on the 2016 bonds? My understanding is the bond duration ended on May 2, 2021 so I believe they either have to pay us back the bond principle in cash plus 10% interest. Or do they have to option to pay the principle and the interest in common shares?
Thanks for any info?
The best thing about LQMT Skies was the picture of Lindsey Vonn.
Well Eagle in my case its been 15 years to "almost there"?
Exactly, I got myself into this mess with LQMT by ignoring what they both continually warned about - my bad could have made actually made money during the last 16 years following their advice with the money I wasted in LQMT.
There is no theoretical way LQMT would even be here today if Steipp would not have sold out to Apple. Since it happened 11 years ago without the Apple cash infusion LQMT would have went bankrupt years ago. Either way we would have lost.
I'll just continue to read charlie Munger and Warren Buffet and learn how to truly value a company - Thanks
Is there a relationship between charts, tea leaves, and palm reading?
On one hand I'm tired of LQMT and have every right to be, my first shares of LQMT where purchased in the fall of 2006, so I'm approaching 15 years with this company. On the other hand, we have seen 2 quarters of increasing revenue; with the most recent quarter being 550K plus, a 70% increase from last quarter evidently. This is encouraging enough for me to stick around a few more quarters, might as well make this a even 16 year investment.
I don't know if they can do it, no one knows on this planet, but if they can increase revenue 50 to 70 percent again next quarter and do it through out 2021 then just maybe we end up with a substantial price per share increase? So I guess I'm sticking around a few more quarters to see what happens?
I would like to see this board speculate on what kind of revenue per quarter would LQMT need to drive the share price to a $1.00 per share? I know there are a lot of variables besides revenue, such as what the contracts are and with who? But let's say the next QTR report in May reports 1 million+ revenue is that enough to drive the SP up significantly, what if they report 2 million+?, etc...?
There has been 10Gig fiber connections since 2016 - there are fiber optic companies now demonstrating 100Gig fiber. II-IV for example has equipment that is doing 100gig fiber connections at least in the lab.

Hi Pay; you will have to excuse my total ignorance on quote below - I spent my entire life developing software. Know almost nothing about the topic below?
Does this have something to do with LQMT and how it makes money?
Here is where I am at: I have been in LQMT for 16+ years now; I will wait until the next quarterly / annual report sometime first of March? Depending on what it says and reports I'm going to make a decision if I stay any longer or not with LQMT. There is just to much going on in the market to stay with LQMT much longer in my opinion. Think of what we could have done with the money invested in LQMT in just the past 3/4 years or so - or better yet 10 years?
Has anyone heard anything about the 4th quarter report date? Schwab has no estimated date for earnings report but seems like it should be within a week or so?
I have 3 accounts at Schwab - they have no problem letting me trade LQMT but you do have to have cash in your account they won't let you use margin for anything under a dollar on the OTC.
Guys we messed up - we should have been buying QS for are dreams of something Apple will actually use someday; you don't think there is any chance LQMT is being used by QS do you?
I didn't say anything about how great a savior Steipp was; just saying that contract with Apple probably allowed LQMT another x years of survival until Li came along. I will admit that Li should be the better leader especially with his background in metals, but so you yourself admit Li hasn't done anything to write home about yet.
If Steipp would not have signed the Apple Contract we wouldn't even be here discussing LQMT today because it wouldn't exist - he had no choice it was either that or go bankrupt.
Hey Eagle shouldn't that be "Metal Gymnastics"?
Elon Musk should buy LQMT outright, then at a minimum, we would get regular tweets.
Eagle, I am confused, I have been a shareholder since 2006, and have been right with you, doubting if this company called LQMT would ever amount to much. Most of my post here, are this company is a joke and I've wasted my investment dollars with these guys! I could have done better in Boeing over 14 years, not to mention an easy pick like GD or LMT or even better just think SIRI it was like 5 cents at one point 10 / 11 years ago or so.
Now tell me if am wrong here - but isn't the reported earnings for this quarter at least in the top 10 reported quarters over the last 14 years? Isn't the 300+ thousand somewhat encouraging? I mean we were all hoping for 500+ thousand but come on last qtr was like 33 thousand?
So I was thinking well at least it's a start and maybe next quarter is closer to 500+ if they can pickup something else besides dental?
Are you staying in or getting out?
Exactly right - when I bought my first shares of LQMT, Lindsey Vonn was on the front page of LQMT website holding her skis that had a liquidmetal part in them. This was probably around 2006 sometime.
Dead On! This 10Q has to have substantial information about some current revenue and solid revenue from here on out! No more moving the quarterly goal post! This one determines is Li any better than all those before him or not -this is the one that determines my interest in keeping my shares of LQMT or moving on to better investments.
LQMT is really identical to Sony Betamax - according to their Blog, Management, and IHUB they have always been the superior metal - the only problem is just like Betamax they are losing to more practical technologies. Just like Sony Betamax we will all look back and say remember LQMT.
