OPINIONS OF THE SUPREME COURT
FILED WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2021
NOTICE - MEDIA RELEASE TIME IS 10:00 A.M.
A19-0115 In the Matter of Issuance of Air Emissions Permit No. 13700345-101 for Polymet
A19-0134 Mining, Inc., City of Hoyt Lakes, St. Louis County, Minnesota.
Court of Appeals.
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is not required under the Clean Air Act, 42 U.S.C. §§ 7401–7671q, and its applicable regulations to investigate allegations of sham permitting when a source first applies for a synthetic minor source permit.
Reversed and remanded. Justice Margaret H. Chutich.
Took no part, Justice Paul C. Thissen.
I was told that it could be 3 or 4 months after the hearing on average.
I listened to the whole thing. PLM'S lawyer and DNR's lawyer both seem to do a very good job. One of the Judges recused themselves from this case. Three points stood out to me. 13 years working on getting this going(sad state and State), the DNR is the Government Agency that gets paid to do this permitting process(let them do their job) and there will always be some who are unhappy with PLM going forward. The three lawyers against PLM were all female and the two lawyers on the PLM/DNR side were male. There is always going to be some unknows, but hopefully those unknowns brought up won't be enough to delay PLM further.
You can say that again!! Thank you
Can anyone tell me what just happened Pre-Market on PLM?
I just called in and talked to Tony Gikas at PLM.
His phone # 651-389-4110 He has always answered when I call. He said if he doesn't answer, leave a message and he will call you back. Nothing new to share and waiting on Glencore. Glencore has been sending people to the sight and sounds like they are there now or recently.
Glencore owns 72% of PLM and looks like they could use what the future mine takes out. Why would a company spend $400 million and not do all they could to get their money back and then some???
"Time Will Tell" Best to all!!
As for my selling and buying back. I would sell for example 10,000 shares of my 50,000 shares at .50 and still have 40,000 shares on the books. Based on this info: "...will receive one Right for every common share of PolyMet owned on the record date of June 3, 2019 (the “Record Date”). For each Right held, holders are entitled to acquire 2.119069 new common shares of PolyMet at US$0.3881 per share (the “Rights Price”)." Thank you for your comments.
Why take advantage of the share offering at just under .39 ?
Seems that it was a no brainer that it would drop in price after the price was given. If it stayed at .50 we could sell some of our shares and buy back at .39(.11 gain on each share we sold).
Not happy with this in many ways!!!
Polyment has some TV ads running on 2019 Minnesota Boys High School Hockey State Tournament. Our home town of Moorhead Minnesota is playing tonight.(Moorhead (18-6-1) vs. Edina (21-2-1), 6 p.m.) Go Moorhead Spuds!!
1. He thought the wetlands permit from the Army Corps of Engineers was weeks away and not months.
2. He mentioned the large amount of money for financing that would be needed ($ 900 million range I believe). I then asked if they would issue more share because of the $ amount and he didn't rule that out.
3. He mentioned the 4 legal issues and that could take months, but it wouldn't stop them from moving forward.
4. He mentioned that there are two analysis who price PLM in the next 12 months at $1.50 and $2.00-- I asked him first what price he thought and he wasn't allowed to answer that question.
I called PLM today and talked with one person in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has worked for the Company for 14 years and owns stock. She was on vacation so she gave me another name and number to call. That person works in Minneapolis and has worked for the Company for 4 years and has options. He also worked in the investment field for twenty years. He was very helpful in giving the over view of PLM's current status and was open to answering any questions. I'm glad I called in. If anyone wants his name and phone number please let me know. Have a nice weekend :)
I'm reminded of the movie from 1985 "Real Genius" where the one student was just screaming from the frustration of the study, etc.. Looks like that fits many of us in our holding of PLM over these MANY years. Sad to say:(
Thank you for your thoughts! Let's hope that the millions upon millions of dollars spent so far on this project are not just another example of 'throwing good money after bad'.
This process has taken FAR TOO MUCH time and money. While some have been making money in this process, most of us haven't. IMO
Has our governments(local, state, and federal) been helpful or harmful?
"...As Bastiat said and Hazlitt too 'the real cost of the state is to end the prosperity we do not see, the jobs that do not exist, the technologies to which we do not have access, the businesses that do not come into existence and the bright future that is stolen from us. The state has looted us just as surely as a robber who enter our home at night and steals all that we love."--Lew Rockwell
For most of us who have held PLM for years, this journey so far, can make even the most optimistic pessimistic. Add Minnesota and attempt to open a new mining operation and what do you get?
"Many people want the government to protect the consumer. A much more urgent problem is to protect the consumer from the government."--Milton Friedman
Interesting point! Real assets verses ever increasing paper IOUs.
What we use as money is a topic that most of us have little understand about and probably a good thing for those in control currently. It benefits the few and the cost is spread out to the many. IMO. "How will it end?"--The Truman Show
I just checked my TD Ameritrade account and Post Market last trade was 1.16 Change since close up .15(14.85%) Time: 7:46 PM ET--- What ever that means.
Interesting quotes:
“knowing more than the other guy is what free enterprise is, whether it’s the stock market or business in general. Knowing more than the other guy, being an entrepreneur and profiting from it.”--Murray Rothbard
“You should want more insider trading, not less. You want to give the people most likely to have knowledge about deficiencies of the company to have the incentive to make the public aware of that.”--Milton Friedman
Thanks to all of you who share on this board! They are nice to read during our very long wait. I read this article this weekend and thought of PLM. There are real assets to be removed if the powers that be will get out of the way and let the mining began!
" In particular, I’m looking forward to a bubble in commodities in general (most are down 50% from the previous peak in 2011), and precious metals in particular. And not just a bubble, but a hyper bubble in mining stocks."--Doug Casey

I am frustrated as well:(
Question:
If and when they start to mine. What happens to the stock when they close the mine years later?
Thanks!
THANK YOU to all who share on this board!
Frustrated about how long this is taking:(
"We have been forgetting the basic truth that the greatest threat to human freedom is the concentration of power, whether in the hands of government or anyone else. We have persuaded ourselves that it is safe to grant power, provided it is for good purposes.
Fortunately, we are waking up. We are again recognizing the dangers of an over governed society, coming to understand that good objectives can be perverted by bad means, that reliance on the freedom of people to control their own lives in accordance with their own values is the surest way to achieve the full potential of a great society."--Milton Friedman
A quote for all the long time holders of PLM.
"If you put the Federal government in charge of the Sahara desert,
in five years there'd be a shortage of sand."--Milton Friedman
Thanks to all who have been posting lately!!
