I agree with you that the antenna could be BMG and Eontec could handle the production
If this proofs out this might be what Apple will use in the iPhone 5G around 2020.
Thx for posting great information!
I like the word "customers".....paying customers hopefully.
I look forward to greeting our customers and investors at our upcoming Open House on October 17 as a member of our Board of Directors," said Mr. Chung
Dec. 2016 CC. Oldie but a goodie...
Thanks Lugee, I’m Paul Hauck and I manage sales and marketing for Liquidmetal.
2016 has been a year filled with great progress, we have received 16 new customer orders between prototype and production and have established important customer contacts across several markets including Automotive, Dental, Medical, Industrial equipment and Sporting equipment. Now with our newest technology partner, Eontec, we will greatly expand our market offering by providing both injection molding based amorphous metal solutions and die cast based solutions. Die-casting will enable the manufacturing of larger parts up-to 500 grams, and allow the casting of much thinner parts, this capability coupled with the lower cost alloys developed by Eontec will provide a competitive solution to a much wider scope of applications across many markets. I’m excited to unlock the potential of all of the RFQ’s we have generated this year by revisiting them and applying our expanded capabilities. In our interest to quickly leverage our broadened technology offer we will be releasing a series of new marketing materials during the next few months, in particular please watch for a new website and two new generations of our design guides. Version 4.0 of the design guide will be released this month and 5.0 will be released during Q1 of 2017. We will also continue a busy trade show schedule to help get the word out to potential new customers and will be hosting very important customer visits at our manufacturing facility, again, we are thrilled with the recent changes in our business and look forward to continue growth. Now I will turn the call over to Bruce to provide an update on our business development.
Why would Li want to have an open house in October?
Apple Watch with LTE will have to be RF transparent and not get hot.
This would be a good reason for Apple to use BMG.
Apple could announce this along side the new iPhone in September. (Before October)
Can you imagine if LQMT were producing little apple watches at the open house….nice.

This is when Apple gets much more interested in using BMG in there iPhone 5G.

Interesting......one use comes to mind would be an Apple logo made of BMG formed into the aluminum case so wireless charging could be used......thanks for posting.
Thanks for the update Gamesc.

NVIDIA Corporation? Wonder what they were doing there........
"It will take a lot of hard work and a little bit more patience but in time Liquidmetal will thrive."
This is all I could find on what Li said at the last CC about patience.....could you possible send link on the 3rd quarter production.
Thanks in advance....

I hope your right....but remember Apple is not usually the first to market. 2020 plus or minus 1 year.GL
Good post.....agree with you on all counts Apple may use Liquidmetal in there 5G iPhone around 2020.
Apple sold over 800K iPhone 7 last fall.......daily.

5G and Liquidmetal
Translation from Chinese; (face to face 13 June 2017)
While in the 5G time signal strengthens the material choice of heat dissipation is also hot, and liquid metal frame is a very good cooling effect, which also caused widespread concern in the market,
My interpretation;
While using 5G wireless when the signal strength is strong (dBm) the material needs to have good heat dissipation or the material will get hot. Liquidmetal is a very good material for heat dissipation which keeps it cooler. This is a concern for the 5G wireless market.
*Liquidmetal is good at RF heat dissipation because it is RF transparent.

Most carriers are targeting 2020 for widespread launch, after the ITU finalizes 5G’s technical specifications in March 2018. But others are confident they can deploy it sooner.
AT&T plans to expand residential and small business trials in the second half of this year, ahead of a “standards-based” rollout as soon as 2018. According to El-Kadi, 5G-compatible devices will begin to emerge in earnest this year.
“We expect to see eight to ten devices globally,” he said. Qualcomm expects networks to follow, some as soon as mid-2019. “We’re pulling in the schedule,” El-Kadi said. “It’s coming sooner than you think.”
Note all three players from LQMT have something to do with Apple.
What??
I'm thinking Li has plans for LQMT that involve more metals than just BMG.
"I am humbled and excited to be presented with the Excellence Award from the IMA. I have many ideas on product design across multiple industries, and I look forward to bringing such innovations to Liquidmetal for its product development and applications."

Thank you for posting your finding on the patent.
WIPO - world intellectual patent organization
Not the same as the US patent office.......that's the difference.
I'm not a lawyer nor play one on tv but I think your right. I had a friend of mine go thru the patent process and he got rejected on the first couple tries but eventually got it through.
Thanks Gamesc for posting this important information.
I just finished reading the same article when you sent it out.
Question can Eontec die casting machines do both magnesium and Liquidmetal without a major reconfiguration or do you need a completely different machine for each?
Tesla model 3 production to begin in July about the same time Liquidmetal new facility should be operational.
Li did just win an automotive design award.
Maybe something maybe not.

Always enjoy your post :)
You need help.....lol
Caught me by surprise......not so much that they choose Corning but how early the announcement was.
Lot of politics going on with Apple.....they want that 10% tax rate for bringing money back from overseas.
They want headlines about creating jobs here in the US and shoring up the supply chain for the future.
Tim Cook is actually pretty smart guy.....my largest investment is in Apple fulll disclosure.
My guess is we will be hearing more funding announcements from Apple throughout the summer and they will be smaller than the 200 million than Corning just got.
Maybe LQMT gets some of Apple funds 20 to 50 million on opening day of there new facility.
I haven't figured out if Lugee Li is friend or foe to Apple.....time will tell.
I agree with you.GL
I guess you need to talk to Liquidmetal management.

I find Li's plug for Liquidmetal and not mentioning Eontec very interesting.

I trust our CEO is not hiding a Purchase Order from his shareholders and would let his shareholders know about any orders received.
