IMO it's all about capitulation and discouragement of small shareholders.
I was thinking the exact same thing!em
Glad you are a believer.
I'm sure it was... Ooops, more sarcasm..
I figured as much, hence the sarcasm...
Yes, i guess we should all sell at the market, huh?
ERHC's flaccid management team's main function seems to be travel and entertainment at our expense. If they can't talk about drilling results, why the heck even go to these trade shows - I guess to impress each other?
I'll go with: 6) lack of buyers because they're all in and new buyers still don't know what ERHC is all about.
Southern Man, the thought has crossed my mind. Have also wondered if he's linked to Offor somehow and here to keep shareholders hooked and(remember the Barnabas post)encouraged to stay the course. A third guess is he is somehow in the oil biz. Maybe works on an offshore rig hence the disappearing two weeks at a time then re-appearing.
His posts are interesting and entertaining and the possiblities presented in them are often fun to think about - better than the "nothing happening here for a year or more" stuff that seems the show up whenever something positive happens or is released. I especially enjoy how Oily manages to twist the tails of some to the point of exasperation.
JDubs here checkin' in with my ERHC peeps! I haven't posted in a while, but still long and strong. (Although sold a little chunk to buy something nice for the wife.) Tired of waiting like most and wondering if I'm crazy at times, but as always I fall back on the reasons that brought me here in the first place: the assets. The price action this week feels like manipultive games and I can see where someone who perhaps bought shares during the recent run would be shaken out pretty easily. I wish I had the cajones to trade, if I did I'd probably have over a million shares by now but that would take the cavalier discipline of a good blackjack player (which I don't posess)! So I'm hanging in there with the rest of ya!
BB and Mark, always look forward to your posts. Best to all.
A huge volume surge is all the PR I need. Big money doesn't wait for a PR. By the time us regular folks hear about it, the big money will already be in IMO.
Indeed. Some on this msg board treat folks with news/insights that differ from their own agenda like Joe the Plumber. Keep the updates coming Mark!
It'd be great to get an update or insights into the arbitration on blocks 5 and 6 on this conference call. Just speculating. However, to an earlier point, previous conference calls have been pretty vanilla. Admittedly the short notice is curious.
JDubs, Dallas-Ft. Worth Texas area.
Following that line of thinking, wouldn't releasing the geological study that ERHC paid for by year-end be a way to up the ante?
Art, hope you're right. I hope Obama's Soros ties don't hurt us.
MZ, Dan Keeney is correct about our meeting. However I don't think that I took him out of context. It's exactly as he portrayed it to you. The topic is obviously or has been of interest to ERHC. Incidently, both I and my guest were impressed with Dan's sober assessment of ERHC and its prospects. Beware the IR person who hypes the stock! I left the meeting satisfied with my decisin to hold my shares until drilling. I also appreciated Dan's candor.
BB, a little Ockam's (sp?) Razor at work... Oily appears to have been hoisted upon his own petard! Nice job.
As a negotiating ploy, Offor has "thrown the anchor". Now that people know his target, the message is sent, "don't insult me with any offers outside of striking distance of my $10 price.". In essence, he may drift a little, but not much.
Imagine the short covering rally that such comments, broadly circulated, can potentially trigger. Love it!
He must've seen my post from this morning!
BB, I agree about the naked shorting. In fact so does the ERHC official that I had lunch with a few weeks back. I'd love to see ERHC take legal action against these crooks. I would share more about my meeting, but I don't have the person's permission to post it. TIA
Puts him in the same club as Jeff Immelt!
"The key to making money in stocks is not to get scared out of them." Peter Lynch
Kinda sums up the ERHC longs' experience! I'm sticking with my opinion that a pps beat down (market troubles notwithstanding), negativity and despair = good news must be coming. GLTA
The low-volume beat down on pps and the gloom and doom posts mean only one thing. Good news must be coming!
I thought that was Bovell's gig?
SFreed doesn't appear to be too concerned about blocks 5 and 6 issue. Take downs like today after a period of low or no volume have, if my memory serves, are usually attached to news of one sort or another.
Could the NPS300 thing been an allusion to a drilling rig arrangement? 4x4?? I watch with bemused skepticism!
Indeed. Credit where it's due HP, I recall that you were the one who "broke the story" that Menezes had boarding the plane to sign off on PSC's a few years back; what a run that day! J
Good morning all. A thought about Oilphant's latest post (which, admittedly, have become amusing distractions to me while we wait to hear from the company).
Perhaps clarification of the rights in 5 and 6 is a loose end in the way of some kind of negotiation. In other words, "you guys clear up the confusion on this and you've got a deal."
Just a thought over Kool-Aid, er, coffee I mean.
ditto em.
Like Mr. Goodwrench used to say... "you can pay now, or you can pay later..."
PS, your message served to make me take pause, consider the posts of the last couple of days and add my perspective. In no way did it reflect negatively on you in my point of view! Your posts are always insightful and appreciated.
I detect a bit of despair here of late. Some words of encouragement if I may... No one here should buy or sell based on message board posting. The, dare I say, choreographed negativity we experience here is more likely intended to scare off people who've heard about the minnow and googled it in search of info. Negatively skewed posts keep would-be shareholders away and hold the pps in check or even lower it. After several years, I can say that my experience has been that these periods of board melancholy often come after a period of oilygrams, company pr's etc.. It's natural for the group to become a bit deflated. That's when the "no drilling for a year" chorus strikes up. My advice, fall back on your personal reasons for owning this stock and act/think accordingly. No one kicks a dead dog.
Shoulda read Upatnight's post first!EM
Indeed, look how long Bovell worked for us as a consultant...
Manti, great feedback to Dan Keeney. Especially adding the partners' ticker symbols, searches for those tickers could stimulate some, as I think Cramer calls it, "pin-action". J
Not dogging on you Manti, but I think that they could've avoided eye rolling etc by being more up front in their communications. If this weren't the case they wouldn't have felt it necessary to make a joke of the whiteboard. In fact, the classy thing to do would have been to not even recognize the whiteboard saga- doubt that was a Keeney thing, surely he's more polished than that.
Under the veneer of humor, there's always a layer of truth.
This will either be the best or worst financial decision I've ever made! We'll see in the coming months and years!
