Why does Amarin want to settle badly? They have plenty of money so no need of a secondary. The patent case has nothing to do with nor will it interfere with the fda decision. The patent issue will make no difference to any doctors that may or may not prescribe Vascepa. So...why does Amarin want to settle badly?
Two Vascepa for sale on EBay this morning for $198.95. Description says they are shelf pull items due to flaws in packaging.
Tmac.....They were all bought for their asset value and cash flow. None were publicly traded companies. No one cared about anything beyond the company’s ability to retire the debt at the time of purchase and into the future.
I look at Amarin from a strictly cash flow perspective. Their business is about to explode. Any talk of their inability to successfully GIA is nonsense. They are turning a profit already. Their profits are about to increase exponentially.
Tmac’s points & questions
1) Just making a point that sales will need to ramp up if GIA is the strategy.
No kidding. Might as well say they need to keep showing up for work. SMH!
2) I just hope this management is smart enough to recognize a good offer for where they are in the process. 800 sales reps for 1 drug is going to be an expensive rollout.
Disagree. The size of the market that I expect for Vascepa....the cost of 800 reps will be minuscule.
3) Why is it everyone on this board thinks they know everything (i.e. I haven't been in "biz") about everyone else? Where were you a CEO? Did you own the company? Did you sell it? Was it based on a multiple of EBITDA?
Because you say things that someone that knows nothing of business would say. I have owned 4 companies so far. All built by my wife and I. Started with nothing. Have enough that the future of almost 100k shares of amrn are not a huge concern. Its going to be nice but if it went to zero we would still be fine.
It’s not going to zero. It may go to a hundred. After watching some others I won’t be surprised if it does. For certain it’s going to turn a healthy profit in 2020 and if it stays independent it may make quite a bit more $$ than most think.
Bio....in your scenario they failed and there are no longer any sales reps....exactly as I said.
Amarin is turning a profit with 400 reps currently. They intend to add 400 more. That will turn a bigger profit as their stable costs were covered with the first 400.
Amarin is expanding an already successful business model. If all they did was add 400 more reps it would probably be successful. However the fda is going to help them out. Canada is too. When that happens there will be an increased demand with or without sales reps.
Any talk of Amarin losing money in the future is foolish. It’s a matter of how much will they make.
Trac......Research deeper. They were one cent cash flow positive last quarter. At the risk of repeating myself. Sales reps bring in more than they cost or there would be no sales reps. Commercials are advertising. Advertising brings in more money than it costs or no one would advertise.
Simple stuff but if you haven’t been in biz maybe you are unaware of how it works.
Amarin is currently bringing in more money than it needs to pay the costs to do so.
Invest....think about if you had a huge loss carry forward or something to use as a write off. You make $100K in wages. You have $500K of a loss from something or other. So on paper you are behind $400K. However you have $100K in your pocket to play, pay bills, buy toys etc.
Nothing is more important than cash flow.
Right now Amarin has more money coming in than it needs to pay its bills. It is not losing money.
Invest...they were cash flow positive 1 cent last quarter. Scripts have increased. They currently are even more cash flow positive than they were.
More sales reps are not going to cause them to lose vast sums of money. That’s not how it works or no one would have sales reps.
Commercials would be the only possibility to lose money but that should be very short term. That’s how advertising works.
Not rocket science here boys.
They already are turning a profit. Where do you guys come from?
Pretty sure we only need one
You need a Bloomberg terminal to get the data.
You can trust Sam. His numbers are correct.
Happy Thanksgiving back to you and yours Sam!
He trades while driving a DeLorean.
In the United Kingdom, takeovers may be structured as takeover offers or as schemes of arrangement. Under English law, a bidder seeking to acquire us by means of a takeover offer would need to make an offer for all of our outstanding ordinary shares/ADSs. If acceptances are not received for 90% or more of the ordinary shares/ADSs under the offer, under English law, the bidder cannot complete a “squeeze out” to obtain 100% control of us. Accordingly, acceptances of 90% of our outstanding ordinary shares/ADSs will likely be a condition in any takeover offer to acquire us, not 50% as is more common in tender offers for corporations organized under Delaware law. By contrast, a scheme of arrangement, the successful completion of which would result in a bidder obtaining 100% control of us, requires the approval of a majority of shareholders voting at the meeting and representing 75% of the ordinary shares voting for approval.
•
Under English law and our Articles of Association, shareholders and other persons whom we know or have reasonable cause to believe are, or have been, interested in our shares may be required to disclose information regarding their interests in our shares upon our request, and the failure to provide the required information could result in the loss or restriction of rights attaching to the shares, including prohibitions on certain transfers of the shares, withholding of dividends and loss of voting rights. Comparable provisions generally do not exist under U.S. law.
•
The quorum requirement for a shareholders’ meeting is a minimum of two shareholders entitled to vote at the meeting and present in person or by proxy or, in the case of a shareholder which is a corporation, represented by a duly authorized officer. Under U.S. law, a majority of the shares eligible to vote must generally be present (in person or by proxy) at a shareholders’ meeting in order to constitute a quorum. The minimum number of shares required for a quorum can be reduced pursuant to a provision in a company’s certificate of incorporation or bylaws, but typically not below one-third of the shares entitled to vote at the meeting.
Nope....not this time. We are going to reset higher. There are huge dollars waiting to get in. They will be getting in now.
They are into Kodiak too. KOD.
Sam......thank you!
Cold sores. I thought I saw a post regarding cold sores. Anyone that’s on V ever get a cold sore since starting V?
Sam....you quit doing Friday scripts forever?
Yup....the pile of $20’s is the same height
It’s all about the market cap. What’s a fair value once it’s up and running? Divide that value by the outstanding shares. Debt is a consideration. There isn’t any right now to speak of. They do need to build the mine.
Well yeah.....the way it works now you don’t have to pay both sides. Politicians would actually have to do something right to make this work properly.
The threshold should be fairly high as a smoker should not be discouraged from suing a tobacco company but stupid lawsuits such as these Polymet fiascos.....they should be paid by the treehugger idiots
Invest.....we found a 70K mile 2012 for $15K so she has one more to go. The other one is a 2008 bought new. It’s beginning to fail with 273K miles on it. The newer one has never been run in the winter but I guess it’s going to be now.
She cried when I brought home the sportwagen to replace the original element. Don’t know what she’s going to do when the newer one wears out.
Wouldn’t matter how deep they are if you had to pay costs of both sides if your suit was found to be frivolous.
You are absolutely correct.
Ok...Acura. Yeah we are Honda fans. Have two Elements, HRV and a Civic STI. I tried a Passport but all my buddies were scooping up tdi’ s. We will go back to Honda. I’ll buy a new Passport in the future.
Louie....what do you have?
What year is yours? I saw the older ones had lots of problems. This one is a 2012. So far so good. The Sportwagen is fantastic. I know of 6 other owners with zero issues. The worst vehicle I’ve ever owned was a LTZ Suburban. Complete junk.
Louie....go buy one of those tdi sportwagens. I did. Many others have too. They are $10-12K. Get 40+ mpg. Come with a warranty. 98 mph in 1/4 mile.
We just bought a Touareg too. It gets 30+ mpg. Essentially a Porsche Cayenne with a tdi motor. It was$16,500. 2 year bumper to bumper unlimited miles warranty.
”In response to the ruling, a spokesman for PolyMet, which is majority owned by London -listed mining giant Glencore PLC , pointed to an analysis from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources , the state regulator that approved the plan for the dam, which concluded there were critical differences between the Brazil dam and the planned U.S. dam, including the design, topography and local seismic activity.”
Vascepa for sale on EBay this morning. $156.65 incl shipping. New record.
This went on at ARRY until it was essentially all owned by institutions. There were too many retail holders and they are slowly taking it away.
Like they always do.
V is for sale on eBay this morning
The dam failing is a stretch and easily put to bed.
Glencore should be added to the permit. They are calling the shots now.
RAF....$4k is $4k. Same as it is for anyone.
If not this one we will the following. Summer is over. People are getting back to doing their chores.
If it’s less than $50 I’m voting no
CBB....why would there be an issue in tolerating V?
Wasn’t the market cap $2B at the most back then?
I remember reading something somewhere regarding the possibility of Vascepa helping Parkinson’s. I just saw a fellow that I know casually. Haven’t seen him or talked with him for a while. He’s younger. Maybe 60. He’s was blindsided with Parkinson’s. Happened right after he sold his business and retired. He is visibly shaking. Nice guy. I realize it’s worth a try and if I were him I would try it for sure but can anyone weigh in on this subject?
