I hope you,and bill and eqbeck etc. are correct in your optimism re. this company. After holding for 2 plus years I placed and removed a sell order for 2/3's of my shares a couple of days ago @.34. I sensed that not selling would be the kiss of death for the sp (lol). I too haven't sold a "stinking share" as someone so aptly put it. A rabbit needs to be pulled from a hat very soon!
Oh, AAC. You are a person of few words. Thanks for the clarification.
ETIM: As for a bowser, I assume you are referring to efsf? Like I said I don't know much about it.
You ask..."Where's AAC these days?" I've owned some of this loser for 18 months or so. Based upon what I've read, I believe they must be poorly managed. The concept seems promising but the stock has done nothing but go down. Others seem fed up with it as well. I'm nibbling at efsf at the momemt but can't say I know enough to rec. it. I continue to think Mercator Minerals will do very well in the long run.
I'd like to suggest Mercator Minerals. It is a copper/molybdenum stock that I have owned for several years. I first bt. it when it was in the .40 range. It has just reached a 52 week high of around $3.32 and is yet to actually produce the molybdenum (moly. It trades under the symbol mlkkf in the U.S. and Ml.to on the Can. exchange. I believe that this could be everything that gte hasn't been and with a lot less volatility. There is an informative msg board on Stockhouse Canada and most there feel this stock has tremendous upside potential. GLTA
I agree with vilas, I think the use of the word resigned is unfortunate at best and suggesting there is something more to it at worst.
The nightmare continues. I have sensed in my gut for some time that the primary thing we have is hope. Hope that gtem will come through with something concrete that will restore both sp and shareholder confidence. Hope that we're being told the truth. Hope that our patience(some might say blind faith or stupidity) will oneday be rewarded. Hope is not a very good strategy when it comes to investing.
design: we are 3 hours earlier on the West coast....it's currently only 8:20 or so.
Penny pirate said "I would call this PR a GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLL!" Well done Penny. If not a goal at least a shot on goal without too many defenders. Certainly cause for feeling positive (You are known for that already). Go GTEM!
alas, a bit of good news from gtem. Hopefully projections and numbers will follow to sustain our optimism.
good2be, you might be on to something. I have had an increasingly negative feeling about the stock market in particular and our society in general in recent years. My level of trust is at an all time low. At some point we the people reflect the values of the corporate and political (both Republican and Democratic) movers and shakers of this country and we are seeing the effects of their greed and corruption trickle down to the masses as they say "if they can do it why not me"? I'm not sure where gtem fits into the mix, other than to be a pawn in this game of greed, but we, as a country, need to change.
"Preparing a announcement" doesn't inspire much confidence either. I like the 5 day target of $2.70 (lol)
nerd: actually with already chilled feet, I read an article by some financial guru who predicted bad things to come just before the stock exploded (could he have had an ulterior motive?) I had held it for a couple of years and sold it all instead of keeping some. Anyway, I hope to get in that position again but will be pleasantly surprised if it is with gtem.
risk_it_us/nerd: What it tells me is that again I should have taken a considerable profit while I had the chance. Where we are now is in the "I hope something good happens" mode. Based upon what we've experienced there is considerable fear that it might never materialize. P.S. The one stock I did sell at a good profit $1.40-$7.42(frpt) tripled after I sold it. Maybe I better stick to sculpting (lol).
Most of what they choose to give us in the form of pr's, emails, etc. seems designed to appease rather than truly inform. It is just enough to keep up the interest with very little follow-up or follow-through to sustain it. I hope this changes but would frankly be surprised if it did. (Uffda)
Something must be about to happen. Let's hope!
Burl Ives also said "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas". Either way, all the best to everyone and may the really important stuff take precedence over the frivolous and insignificant things that often occupy our thoughts this holiday season.
Hogman wrote... "But theirs doesn't have stay in place at 13 miles for 18 months at a time...! We do!" Have we achieved this or is this one of our goals? I think the latter, but if we have done it that is all the better. It is nice to see the sp on the rise. Go GTE!!!
Thank you Sam for your thoughtful relpy. Again, (blinders removed by myself and other longs)it would be hard to argue with any of it. I agree that we have been put in this position by a managment team that has not done what they advertised. Let's give GTEM mgmt credit when it is due but keep holding their feet to the fire, especially when deadlines aren't being met!
Sam: In light of what has transpired with GTEM in the past 18 months or so, it would be hard to argue with any of what you say r.e. dilution, performance or lack thereof, etc. The "big things around the corner" aspect is what we longs currently hang our hats on. It is probably all we have to look forward to at this point. I'm hoping they succeed but am now realistic enough to have my doubts. Truth be told, are you wishing to see them be successful as well, or would you prefer to see them fail (as some of your posts would seem to suggest)?
It seems to me that a large part of these discussions pro and con about gtem center around why things have floundered. More to the point, was it accidental naevete or willful deceit? A CEO can be innovative and bright on one level and not so sharp when it comes to making business decisions (i.e the Russian deal). He can be overly optimistic on deadline projections etc. and still not be crooked. But if these things were done intentionally to induce investors to buy into something that never was, as I believe, many here are suggesting, that is a different animal. Unfortunately it may be up to our legal system to sort much of this out. I don't believe it was intentional but I can see where the argument can certainly be made. It's never dull with gtem. Stay tuned!
I signed in and due to the slow nature of my computer I am awaiting the download. If apologies are in order, risk_it_us, then I apologize for doubting you and your sincerity in this matter.
If anything is to come from this poster r.e. the lawsuits, Internafta etc. it will be in the tone of "I don't want to get my sources in trouble", "I don't want to do your work for you", blah, blah, blah. Anything more than this will be very surprising. IMHO
Holding your breathe and waiting for a substantive reply from risk_it_us r.e. the lawsuits, Russian deal, etc. may prove harmful to your health. Posters like this have more power (get more attention) in purporting to know something we don't know rather than proving it by giving up the info. It's not unlike the adage about it being better to keep your mouth shut for fear of appearing stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Hence I predict no solid info will be forthcoming. Stay tuned!
Glow_beatle: I think it might be "sue-dough-science" (lol). Also I'm awaiting Verns' response to your comments about the phone conversation as one would seem to be called for.
Thanks William for taking the time and effort to post your response from Rob. Realizing you can't ask everything that might come to mind in a ten minute call, your questions were good ones and the responses helpful IMHO. Thanks again.
Herein lies the problem IMHO. On April 11 of this year I received the following response from Sibylle r.e. gte projects and the decling share price etc.
"Our executives are working on several assignments, including the Colombia project. I wish I could tell you more than that it is a working project and they are progressing – I am not authorized to say more than that. Once the next milestone has been reached, a PR will go out."
I'm fairly certain we have not heard any more about Colombia milestones being reached or anything else going on down there, that I can recall. All of which leads to the speculation and rumor-mill stuff we are currently engaged in.
sinful: affirmative to the bsing part of your comment regarding vern's posts. This is your cue vern to set things straight..what say you, in plain English, please?
sinful: My guess is he was being facetious. Unfortunately winks and nods don't show up on a computer screen. It was/is hard to tell his true sentiment and he isn't saying anything to clarify things fwiw. So who really knows?
Well said serious1. A thoughtful and heartfelt post. Thank you.
The same thought crossed my mind but I can also see where Vern might want to deflect a bit of the anger being directed at Huff, whom he has had dealings with and whom he says he trusts. This might be viewed as a minor breach of confidence to help explain a situation that many have strong feelings about without having access to all of the information. jmho. Personally, I would be the first to say hang him (Huff) by his privates if he is shown to have lied and misled investors intentionally. We don't know that to be the case as yet.
Orlander-file wrote that gte is doing 200k a day in sales. Is this true and if so this sounds encouraging? Is this mostly coming from Centerline or some other source? tia
Pennypirate, if you aren't the eternal optimist I don't know who is. I hope you are correct about the direction this will go. At this point, truth be told, I feel like a deer in the headlights of the investment world (Amex, Sec, MF, etc.)and so far the only paradigms shifting are the two dimes I have left in my pants' pocket (lol). If this company is for real and I/we have chosen to believe that it is then there is still a ray of hope. If we have been conned, as some have said, and it is proven to be true, no punishment is too severe for those responsible. GLTAL
nerd: I could not agree more. We have been like a group of castaways stranded on an island for many months now. Information has seemingly been all about things to come. Help is on the way. Meanwhile we grow more and more weary as our sp goes lower and the cry of scam goes unchallenged by solid results. Every glimmer of hope on the horizon has turned out to be something else. Russia vaporized, Colombia status is unknown, Brazil ?, China ?, etc. etc. Tell us what is real not what might someday be.
For someone who grew up trusting the powers that be (i.e.institutions, doctors, heads of state etc.) I can now say there isn't one (institution) I can think of that I don't think is riddled with corruption and greed. It didn't happen overnight, but it happened. As for Huff being a religious man, I admittedly may have let this sway my thinking a bit as well. I shouldn't have in that a distant relative of mine was one of the most unethical businessmen going but never missed a day of church, even starting several churches of his own after being kicked out of others. Time will tell in this case but time is running short IMHO!
I have perhaps, foolishly, chosen to believe in the technology and people behind this company. Right now things are beyond bleak. If it is proven that we were taken for a ride I hope justice of the harshest kind gets served. Until then we wait and hope for the best....not a good strategy when considerable IRA funds are at stake. GLTAL
I have 15k shares purchased at a considerably higher price that are betting gte is not a sham. They don't necessarily have to be a thriving well run company or a sham. There is a lot of gray area in between. I think many unfortunate decisions have been made and deadlines missed etc. Intentional or not, the company and it's leaders have put we shareholders in a position I'd rather not be in. It is up to them to perform and turn this thing around.
Why today? Is there a particular reason for the big drop in price? TIA
I'm just curious as to why my post about the office in Germany and it's minimal staffing (per Shad on rb) and pokestakes' very plausible response were both deleted. Seems to me this is as pertinent to gte and it's operations as is a lot of fanciful speculation about mergers etc. that will most likely never happen. I own a fair number of shares of gte and am down over $30K but I still want to know what is going on.
pokestake: Thanks, that is something I hadn't considered. I'm trying to hold on here and believe in this company and I must admit I'm a bit on edge at this point in time. Thanks again and GLTUA
