Canopy Growth
Although cannabis stocks are going through a challenging period, the sector offers healthy growth prospects amid the increasing legalization and expansion of medical usages. So, I have selected Canopy Growth (TSX:WEED) (NYSE:CGC) as my third pick. The company looks to strengthen its market share in the cannabis-infused beverage and flower segments through its new product launches.
The company also recently acquired Supreme Cannabis and Ace Valley, which expanded its product offerings in the premium flower segment while also boosting its production capabilities. Meanwhile, the company is yet to attain profitability. However, the company has taken several initiatives, such as optimizing its supply chain and right-sizing its production, thus lowering its expenditure while improving its margins.
The company’s management hopes to report positive adjusted EBITDA in the second half of fiscal 2022. Further, its financial position also looks healthy, with its cash and cash equivalents standing at $2.3 billion as of March 31. Despite its healthy growth prospects, Canopy Growth trades at a 61.4% discount from its February highs. So, I believe investors should utilize this correction to accumulate the stock to earn superior returns.

A LAST-DITCH bid by the Left Party and The Greens to liberate the German hemp industry has been rejected in one of the final sessions of the Bundestag before September’s Federal Elections.
However, hemp and cannabis campaigners have taken heart from the widespread political support for reform of the country’s restrictive laws.

Curaleaf International (formerly EMMAC Life Sciences Group) (“Curaleaf International”), Europe’s largest vertically integrated cannabis company, is pleased to announce it has successfully exported over one metric ton of medical cannabis to BOL Pharma in Israel. Curaleaf International is one of the first companies to export medical cannabis to Israel under the country’s new regulatory regime.
The initial shipment, comprising two strains of dried flower, was shipped from Curaleaf International’s primary cultivation facility, Terra Verde in Portugal, and is part of a larger supply agreement with BOL Pharma.

Latest polls show the German Greens (whose policy is to legalise cannabis adult rec) falling between 10 to 11 points behind the major ruling parties (CDU/CSU) led by Chancellor (prime minister) Angela Merkel (who is retiring this year).
The Greens had soared to the top of the polls after nomination of new leader, Annalena Baerbock, who helped to overhaul the Green's image as a stable party that can act responsibly in government.
Despite the latest poll falls, political analysts in Berlin now say the Greens are still on track to join a new federeal government in September's general election ... maybe a Green + CDU/CSU coalition government, which may legalise cannabis, as Merkel herself had no insurmountable objections to legalisation during the last government-forming negotiations.

The White House is pushing for a meeting with the World Anti-Doping Agency to discuss loosening restrictions on the use of cannabis by athletes, after star sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was left off the US Olympic team because she tested positive for marijuana.
The White House is seeking the meeting through the US Office of National Drug Control Policy, which has a seat on the foundation board of Wada, the international body responsible for governance of anti-doping in global sport, including the Olympic Games.
The board is next scheduled to meet on November 25, but the ONDCP told the Financial Times that, “if possible, the US will secure an earlier discussion of [cannabis policy] within Wada”.

Germany: Cannabis legalization becomes election campaign issue
Millions of people regularly use illegal drugs.
After Germany's upcoming parliamentary election, drugs legalization looks set to be a new issue on the political agenda.
The opposition Free Democrats (FDP), for whom civil liberties are a major issue, have called for the limited and legal sale to adults of "cannabis for leisure consumption." In view of growing global sales of cannabis for medical purposes and private pleasure, the business-friendly FDP is even looking to turn "Cannabis Made in Germany" into a lucrative export product.
