After years of watching the Virtra price rise and fall I started trading on the rise and buying back after the fall. A week ago I was beginning to question that decision. This week has confirmed that I made the right choice! While I’m still underwater on the Virtra shares I currently have, I don’t have any doubts about my decision to start trading. I just wish I had started sooner.
I’m curious….how many of you still own your “trading shares”?
Not 2nd quarter bookings, but six months of bookings.
“ The Company received bookings totaling $8.4 million for the six months ended June 30, 2023. “
Guess on closing price on Monday?
What are your expectations leading up to 3rd quarter earnings and then after earnings?
Will there be an additional 1M of expense this quarter for the 286K of stock for Givens?
Was the 288K restricted stock units granted to Givins for something that has already been accomplished or for possible accomplishments in the future?
Bookings for 2021 were $32.7 million
Bookings for first 3 Qtrs $24.4 million
Bookings for last qtr. $8.3 million
If 4th qtr. revenue is less than $8.3 million, it will just add to the $21.7 million backlog reported for the 3rd qtr.
I would have thought news of orders of $2.7M would have generated more volume.
I have 2 additional questions:
1. What do the charts indicate?
2. When we we find out about IVAS contract?
I seem to recall a number of posts where individuals indicated that they would be happy to take $10 a share.
At that time, I would have also been glad to take $10/ share.
Now I’m trying to decide if by being too greedy, I’ll wind up riding this stock down again.
Any one else having similar thoughts?
Still think you will be able to rebuy in the $7.20s this week?
Been in since 2004. There have been many times since then when the price jumped only to drop significantly soon after. I kicked myself every time for not selling (at least some) and buying back later.
Not this time. I’m out. With over 90M shares traded today someone’s playing games. I may get back in when the games are over. If not, it has been an interesting ride.
I still have some”trading shares” and I’m having trouble figuring out when to sell. I would hate to miss an opportunity by being too greedy.
If your predictions are correct, my trading shares will be gone in February and the rest will be gone in May.
What are the charts indicating now? The price seems to be gradually going up and there have been a few days with decent volume. Just my uneducated impression.
I’m certainly no expert on corporate governance, I’m just wanting a better understanding of how you could possibly succeed in changing the BOD.
I’m not questioning the fact you could succeed in calling a special election.
The point I was trying to make was that you can’t win that election if the BOD issues some preferred stock with enough votes to side with the current BOD (or Bob who has apparently told someone on this board he doesn’t want to make any changes to the BOD)
If I’m wrong, I might consider joining your 15% to call for that special election!
As I recall, when a vote was held to move the Corporation from Texas to Nevada, the BOD issued Bob 1,000,??? preferred shares with 1??? votes per share in order to get the votes needed for the move. The shares were eliminated after the vote, but the description of preferred shares still allows the BOD to issue preferred shares and determine the number of votes per share.
With that ability, how do you think you are going to make changes in the BOD?
After watching the value of my Virtra shares increase with reports of good news only to decline a few days/weeks later, I finally decided to do something different. For the last couple of years, I have sold a small portion of my Virtra position when the price has jumped and repurchased those shares plus more after the price took that inevitable slide.
With the good news this week, I am currently down about 500 shares, but I have $20K available to buy them back in a few weeks.
I should be up even more, but I was a little too greedy and didn’t sell quick enough.
There was an order on the fpds.gov website for $377K from the FLETC dated 9/30/2019. The description was training aids.
Just to the right of the Contract ID there is a link (Awards) that will show the details of orders placed as part of that particular contract.
It looks like $4.5 million of government contracts this quarter, with at least $100K of that for support. Don’t know what portion will be completed this quarter, but the rest should show up in backlog.
There were over 20,000 shares at the ask for $2.66 and 100 shares purchased about every 25-30 seconds. After about 45 minutes the rest of the shares went pretty quick. Now with a bid of $2.60 and ask of $2.85, we are back to a purchase of 100 shares about every 25-30 seconds. Can anyone explain that?
I have believed in the company since 2004. I watched the price climb on news and then drop. I am a slow learner, but I finally got tired of not making any money. So for the last couple years, I’ve had a smaller position of shares just to flip when days like yesterday happen. Wish I would have started years ago!
If you are buying at $2 and selling at $3, what’s wrong with that?
I thought we are all trying to buy low and sell high.
Wish I would have had a bunch of $2 shares to sell yesterday.
When I go to this site I see over $8,500,000 of activity in 2018 and over $2,200,000 of activity in 2019. I did not include amounts under $100,000 thinking they were probably maintenance contracts. Am I missing something or does that represent the government orders received by Virtra since the beginning of 2018???
I’m a novice and don’t pretend to understand how a buyout might work, but I seem to recall that there was some safeguard in place to prevent a potential buyout. Seems like it was mentioned when the corporation was moved (Texas to Nevada I think).
The By-laws mention that the Corporation elects not to be governed by the “Control Share Acquisition Statute”.
I also recall the Board issuing a number of shares of preferred stock with xxxx votes per share. I don’t know if these are related.
It appears to me that there have been a number of folks waiting anxiously for the big news that trigger a huge jump in the stock price.
Over the years, many of the expected “triggers” have come and gone without that big increase.
Recently we have seen a number of those folks realize that big jump isn’t coming anytime soon and move on. They have not only quit following this board, but also they have been the sellers with a seemingly endless supply of shares to sell.
I seem to recall someone posting that there are limits on the # of shares that can be repurchased. It seems like it couldn’t exceed a certain percentage of the shares traded.
I’m certainly no expert on the subject, but I seem to recall some comment about the preferred shares being used to prevent loss of control of company.
I believe the share price has increased prior to the last 4 or 5 quarterly reports only to go down soon after the report is released.
Do you think that will be the case this time?
How do you have a 60K share trade without a major change in the price?
