Also that could explain why dr. Lebby had a few meetings with Belgian shareholders. For those not knowing, the places where Smart Photonics in The Netherlands and the shareholder meetings/dinners are located are pretty close to each other so it would be 'easy' to incorporate in his busy schedule.
Anyway, just speculation on my part ofc.
5:19 Could that be...? Great find K!
Out of curiosity: why is the shares outstanding number going up? Can a company just put more shares on the market without announcing it? Or maybe it is announced somewhere?
As I said before: I'm not loaded nor a millionaire or retired (still have to work for my money) and if I can make money of lending out my shares to buy more shares then it's a good tradeoff. My amount of shares has zero influence on the 18-20m shares short (or whatever the current count is). 2-3 weeks at this CTB let's me buy 200 more shares (already bought 200 more from last month). Will it last, no, but for the moment I'll take it.
Also the believe is that IB still do loan out my shares even if I participate or not.
When news hit and the squeeze starts I will recall my shares to inflict more pain. But as long as there is no news the current SP is rather irrelevant.
Was a few days off but for those interested in following short availability on IB:
Shares available: 340k
CTB: 36%
Almost all my shares are borrowed by IB.
Did anyone recorded the Bloomberg radio interview and can share a link?
IB today: 1.6m available, CTB: 39%, they borrowed around 90% of my shares.
Frustrated much?
Some people still have no clue what they are dealing with. All that counts is results aka SP rising and they want it now. Instant gratification seems to be major thing in current society. 0 patience.
FYI: IB returned about 70% of my shares. They now have 1.5m available (I wish they were mine. ). CTB is still 41%.
Thx Walterc, had to think about your answer. Wasn't sure if it was sarcastic or not. But after some thought it makes sense (at least I hope )
Thx Jeunke for your answer also.
Not sure if it's allowed or not, but I have a question about Dr. Lebby. What happened to Onechip Photonics? Seems the company doesn't exist anymore? Why do I ask? Because I got a question from someone asking about Dr. Lebby's previous CEO position and why his previous company closed down. And I couldn't answer the question... :(
Tried to private message X, but need premium for that.
IB: CTB: 41%, available shares: 500k+
At this moment: IB: shares available to short 208k, CTB 46%.
At this moment, IB: shares available: 38k, CTB: 57.7% Hopefully another fun day! ;)
For those newbie's:
IB: current stock to short available: 78k
Cost To Borrow: 57%
Who in their right mind is gonna short? With the exception of the clueless, ofc.
For IB cash accounts it's 50k$.
Latest data from IB:
Short stock availability: 460k, CTB: 58%.
Of course it reflect to us longs... but you had years to accumulate. I didn't know about LWLG until a year ago. So I need to do what's best in my interests to get to the amount of shares I want (about 30k).
But let's make a deal. I'll buy 2500 shares of you at 1.5$ each (because your shares were like below 1$) and I will call back my shares.
But you have to look into the future... whenever the news comes out, I'll recall my shares and the squeeze will be volcano sized. But for now I'll try to grab every share I can.
There's a difference between making money any way you can or just use the system that's available to you.
In short (pun intended), if my calculations are somewhat correct, I can get 200 more shares of LWLG at the end of next week paid by shorts. I'll take that.
My opinion about the SP, with my amount of shares there's nothing that will influence the SP. Also price at this moment is not relevant. When the news hit, that will be the time to call back my shares.
Ok, skip illegal, but there need to be some rules about shorting and manipulating the markets.
The USA a free country? LFMAO.
Guys (and girls ), not everyone who is invested in LWLG is loaded. As in rich already, on a state pension, not have to work anymore, etc.. In my case 100$ a day is a nice bonus living and working in Thailand where the minimum wage is like 10$/day. Do I need it, no, I make a lot more.
But I'm also thinking that the bigger the hole the shorts are digging, the bigger the volcano explosion.
And yes, I think shorting should be made illegal. But I'm not in charge of the system. The crooks are. So as long as I'm not financially independent I want to look for best value.
Quote from one of my favorite movies The Big Short: "I look for value wherever I can find it."
Seems all my LWLG shares are still lend out at IB.
I was curious so I opted in for the stock yield program at IB. If Xena is right they will lend out my shares anyway so better to get some profit out of it. I don't think my 27k shares will make a noticeable difference anyway.
The day after the opt in most of them were lend out. As in 26934 lend out and 66 still available. That number fluctuates every day a little bit. Even had a day when IB borrowed 26999 shares and 1 was left.
CTB was 60% at the beginning 2 weeks ago and yesterday it was 49%. Yesterday was also the first day all my LWLG shares were borrowed by IB. My share of the cut is around 120$/day it seems so not bad for doing nothing. But I don't really get the calculation behind it.
Will use this interest to buy more LWLG ofc.
I also noticed that IB has between 50k and 500k shares available to short on most days. Not sure if I saw a day with 0 shares available to short. Very possible that this number changes during the day.
Anyway, I hope this information is useful for someone.
Thanks for your feedback. :)
At this moment IB says 375k short stocks available and current fee rate: 85.4166. I assume the latter one is the interest?
Aren't you worried that maybe the shares won't come back because of some unforeseen event and the broker can't get them back? Or the broker goes under?
I know, you said it before, but there's not much I can do about it. I'm not living in the US (and don't have US nationality either but that's a good thing. :)) So can't open Schwab, Fidelity, etc... so IB is atm my best choice.
Received an answer about lending out of stocks from Interactive Brokers US:
IBKR will not lend out your shares without your consent. Customers can consent to permit securities which are fully-paid or classified as excess margin securities to be loaned through participation in IBKR's Stock Yield Enhancement Program.
Not sure if they are lying about it, but that's the answer I got. :)
Thanks X, was curious about it. :)
I'm an IT guy and if I listen to the ASM, watch the slides and think about the past and the future... This is really gonna be something huge.
Maybe I looked over it because I was on holiday but did anyone asked ML about the 1000 stock purchase?
Probably have to wait until TSX opens/starts trading...
Someone has been to Thailand... :)
If I look at Xena's end of day trade list I only count around 60k shares traded for the last part of the day? How do you get 200k shares? Or where there also a lot of trades during that time period with blocks less than 2000? Thanks for your feedback! :)
Yes, same here. No shares leaving my hand. The upside potential is just tremendous.
He's not just a poker player. He is a poker legend.
Can you stop those $NIOBF posts and countdowns? Everyone here knows already.
Oops, made a brain fart: It should have been: Maybe they, at this point in time, don't need to give big speeches...
Maybe they, at this point in time, don't they need to give big speeches. Imo: this could be bad news but then they would not show up or this is good news because they don't need them because everything is going according to plan.
I hope so!
But the doubt in my mind about the article is the use of: 'might' and many 'if's... so it doesn't say much. But we'll see. :)
Yeah, I agree. But why did they bring out this news if they are in a quiet period. Doesn't really make sense. :(
SP will probably go down after 'positive' news as it has a track record of doing that. :)
