High-Yield Stocks Vulnerable To Dividend Tax Increase
As the Bush-era tax cuts are set to expire at the end of this year, there's a rather unsettling possibility that the current 15% tax rate on dividends could jump to 39.6%. Should that occur, it could prompt a sell-off in high-yielding stocks.

Bank of Ireland looks beyond "bad bank," hopes to escape a fresh bailout
Bank of Ireland (BKIR.I) will raise from private sources much of the 2.7 billion euros ($3.6 billion) it needs, potentially becoming the only member of Ireland's "bad bank" scheme to escape a fresh bailout.
The bank's statement on Wednesday it was in fundraising talks with investment banks is a relief for the Irish government, which faces years of scrimping to plug a black hole created by the profligate financial sector.
Shares in Bank of Ireland jumped more than 20 percent after the bank said its loan losses had peaked and it was in talks to raise capital to compensate for losses on property loan sales to the bad bank, the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA).

DUBLIN—Irish banking stocks, already badly battered, plunged anew Monday as it became clearer government rescue efforts will likely lead to expanded nationalization of the sector.
The government is expected to announce Tuesday after markets close plans for another round of bank recapitalizations and to provide details on its previously announced "bad bank" program. The so-called bad bank, backed by the government, will acquire toxic assets from the ailing banks at a deep discount.
The U.S. considered a similar "bad bank" plan in order to clean up badly damaged bank balance sheets but ultimately abandoned it in favor of direct capital ...

Any volunteers to ask Matt to change the header? :~)
Yes sir. Salve for my AIB wound.
Gives Matt hope. Maybe he'll only get a light swat on the butt too.
Someone should probably request a header change. Should now read.......
SEC Charges Eleven in Stock Manipulation Ring.
Unreal. No jail time either? Probably cost the taxpayers more than the 600k they scammed. What a waste. Why bother?
5 billion created 84 jobs.
The average pay per job is $59,523,809.52.
Where's the applications? I'm willing to do it for a flat fee of 50 million!
99.99% of the money must have gone into the pockets of the corrupt overseer's of the funds.
Pretty much like most charities.
Apparently there's plenty of folks not wanting to be long ahead of the recapitalization outcome tomorrow.
Could be explosive up or down.
Place your bets!
I'm only getting 12.4%. Shares are up $8.00 as a bonus. As long as there are no major changes..... With each dividend payment it reduces my cost basis and increases my yield. No complaints here......
