Wow, Sven isn't with Saleen anymore! Wonder what happened there? Wonder if they even have an engineer now?
As far as your messages go.. 200% inaccurate. There is a lot of good public info floating around the net. I like to read, what can I say. Sven isn't with Saleen anymore? He was their lead engineer yes?
Nope, you are incorrect. Please list the saleen staff members who I am missing and please include their job titles and names. If you cannot provide that information, please stop saying I am incorrect. Regards ;)
Incorrect.. Incorrect... geez.. Saleen reports 22 employess, but that doesn't mean they are all at the Corona location. Saleen has sales people that live in other States, that's prob why their cars weren't in the parking lot. Lets see, we have Steve Saleen, his assistant, 2 sales guys, Fiene, Molly, shop manager, 2 workers in shop, Saleens son Sean, 2 engineers and a designer. That's 13 people and the two sales persons are usually out in the field, so that... leaves 11 cars to be in the parking lot. I say CORRECT, CORRECT.
Ya..well... Steve Saleen promises a lot of things he cant deliver. I can assure you there is no new supercar anywhere on the horizon.
Wow...You are bagging on Fred for his opinion and stating he is wrong and doesn't know Steve Saleen... You know him on a personal level? You are friends with him? You can speak for him and know how he thinks and what he feels? I think not. Steve Saleen is a sales person and is good at it. He will BS whoever will listen just to get their money. Sometimes I think he believes his own BS.
"He absolutely cares about his shares, the company, the cars and the customers."... Unless you are him, these are YOUR opinions and are by no means factual and you have no right to say how Steve thinks or feels, period!
"For not knowing the guy at all those are pretty strong statements to make. But then again, they are incorrect!".. Where is the proof that Fred is incorrect?????
The s7 cool as it is, is old news. There is no new s7 anywhere on the horizon as saleen lacks the funds.
There are very good/bad reasons the stock is so low and is staying so low. Gross mismanagement is the main reason.
Wrong again wrong again wrong again... why did I know that was coming? Everyone is wrong except you. I got my conclusion from you. You said you have been around Saleens and been to every plant. These are your words:
"I don't work for Saleen but have been around every model ever built from the 90's on. I have been to EVERY plant from when Saleen Inc was in Irvine to current including the Troy, MI plant."
So, how in the world does that make you anything more than a fan or spectator. You said you don't work for Saleen, so therefore, you only know what they want you to know. Thats like me saying I have seen many buildings and have personally been inside many buildings, then claiming I am a structural engineer and know everything that goes into building every building ever. Would I be correct in saying that? If you say no, I will then you are wrong. Sound familiar?? LOL Regards LOL
Just because slnn has been around for years doesnt mean its currently a solid company. Its had lots of ups and downs and bankruptcies, along with numerous lawsuits and huge layoffs. Proceed with caution!
This whole conversation started by you saying how fast Saleens where. I called BS and BS to Saleens site saying how their engineers design and craft their performance parts. That's what you and I were talking about and that's where the off the shelf performance parts talk came from. Seeing cars at a shows and walking up to or in a plant for 10 minutes doesn't mean you know much more than what they want you to know! Of course saleen has their own wings and body kits that are proprietary. The kits though, are designed by the visual concepts team and made for saleen by a local outside shop. The body kits are not designed by engineers and tested in wind tunnels like they supposedly are. LOL Regards LOL
The big mess is all created by Steve though. He started fresh with SMS that became Saleen and has done nothing but spend our money and get further and further in debt. To clean up this mess, it would take a different crew of high up people with a completely different plan, or at least a hugely different plan than whats been in affect for years now with Steve at the helm. There have been no such change in plans though, and money spending and not making continues. The whole business is set up to fail. The profit margin on the cars isn't big enough and they will never sell enough cars month after month, year after year to pay for their salaries, rent, pr, and still turn a profit. It would be a miracle for them to break even.
What is that statement supposed to mean? Slnn will fall apart n sink even lower as usual.
Steve has been back in command for years now. That's most of the reason the stock keeps dropping and dropping.
I have no idea what point you are trying to make!?!? At least foose wheels are of high quality. Saleen wheels are heavy Chinese junk.
Little money for parts=little activity in saleenland
We have been talking about how supposedly fast the black labels are yes? Black labels have aftermarket mufflers, a kenne bell supercharger and ecu is reprogrammed with kenne bell supplied tuner that kenne bells engineers and tuners came up with, not saleen. Those are the only horsepower increasing mods made to the car. You said you know differently "for a fact". Prove me wrong with your facts then. LOL.
What exactly is a custom tuner? Flowmaster designs n makes its own mufflers, same thing with kenne bell, eibach, etc.. Saleen claims their parts are different and designed and tested in house by their team of engineers, which is untrue. Chip foose designs cars and have wheels made to his design. Chip does not take off the shelf autoparts wheels to put his name on then claim he designed and engineered them. Get it? Good.
I am 100 correct! You always seem to say people are wrong, yet you have nothing to prove we are wrong or you are right. Anyone who knows anything about cars and isn't visually impaired can see all the off the shelf performance parts on Saleens. Facts are facts LOL
Saleen cars(except the s7) aren't fast in the real world and the exhaust tone is from a set off 200 dollar mufflers that anyone can buy. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Visually, not my cup of tea, but lots like their look so more power(no pun intended)to ya. My only gripe are them saying they use custom in house engineered/designed suspension and superchargers, etc... when they actually use off the shelf aftermarket parts. Im not a fan of lies and deception that's all.
The facility seems impressive from the outside, I cant deny. Its by far more than saleen needs, but it is and always has been all about appearance. Besides a few designers offices, the huge building in back sits completely empty. Its not so impressive looking on the inside.
So silly and false info here. "Power in the hands of a few".. LOL... There are thousands of non saleen mustang owners that have a couple bolt-ons or even a supercharger, turbo, or nitrous added on to have the same or much more horsepower than a Saleen mustang of any label color.
"Black Label model is maintained by the Saleen S4 specific-rate springs, S4 shocks & struts, swaybars and bushings creating a complete suspension system"..... BS, black label struts, shocks, springs, and sway bars are off the shelf aftermarket accessories!
"With over 30 years of racing and supercharger experience, Saleen engineers utilize the most advanced components in the industry to create the ultimate system for performance enthusiasts. Our patented and innovative Saleen Supercharger system is standard on the S302 Yellow and Black Label models.
The current Saleen Supercharger is the eighth generation supercharger system to grace the engine bay of a Saleen vehicle. Using the expertise and experience we learned from the earliest bolt-on centrifugal systems, through the simple roots-type air pumps and into a twin screw compressor, the eighth generation Saleen Supercharger surpasses them all. Determined to continually improve our design team designated this system for its focus on optimization, efficiency and reliability. This innovative system is the most refined, reliable and optimized system available for a Saleen vehicle."... BS, again! Saleen has not had their own designed supercharger since the first bankruptcy. The superchargers Saleen has used for years now are off the shelf Kenne Bell's that have the Kenne Bell ground off the housing and Saleen stickers installed in its place. "our design team, Saleen engineers..." LOL!!! Look at Saleens custom designed supercharger and then go to Kenne Bell's website and look at theirs. Looks identical because it is. We are being lied to people.
Saleens only location for years now has been in Corona, Ca. If I remember correctly, the Irvine plant and accessory store closed and all operations were moved to Michigan, then Saleen went bankrupt which forced the Michigan plant to then close. I think that was 2007ish.
Very well put! Thanks for informative break down of this failing company. People really should listen to your words instead of the misleading up up up nonsense that is posted all too often.
Staged photoshop PR bs!
I call photoshop bs!!
I call photoshop bs!!
Yes, completely correct! White and non supercharged black labels get different mufflers, a different air filter, and a different ecu tune, that's it! Yellow and some black labels get the addition of a kenne bell supercharger, that's it! How in the world can you say if you took a stock mustang, added a high flow air filter, high flow mufflers and a put an aftermarket tune in the ecu, it wouldn't be the same as a Saleen?? Please explain your theory. Is there some magical horsepower stored in the Saleen decals? Is there an afterburner in the horsepower robbing rear wing? LOL
"Nope, completely wrong.
Just adding this part and that part will not make a stock mustang be equal or faster then a Saleen.
Now you could do heavy mods to a stock mustang and make it faster sure. But just adding a few parts will not do it.
Down force, drag etc have a lot to do the quickness and handling of a car. Anyone that knows anything about performance of cars knows this lol."
Here we go with the dead horse beatings... Take a stock mustang, add better air filter and better mufflers, and a kenne bell(if you want to compare to a yellow or supercharged black label) and your car is just as fast as a saleen. Saleens with body kits will actually be slower due to weight and Im sure the big rear wing costs horsepower too. Downforce costs horsepower. Also, if you take a stock mustang, add aftermarket lowering springs and aftermarket sway bars(if you want to compare to a black label), then your stock mustang would handle just as well as the saleen. Actually it would prob handle better than a black label due to the stock mustang being lighter. I think we covered this thoroughly now, yes? LOL
Of course your supercharged mustang was faster than a non supercharged mustang. But, if the non supercharged coupe would have had the same aftermarket supercharger as yours and the driver had the same driving skills as yours, the coupe would have been faster.
100% true people! Its so funny how saleen goes up a fraction of a penny and all of a sudden people are popping up like "here we go, its taking off, hold on..." Everyone is quiet when the stock drops like a stone yet one day of slight increase and people are set to bet the farm on slnn. Im still very leary and suggest other investors are also.
Saleens don't produce the power that's advertised and are nothing more than stock engines with factory bolt on accessories. In reality, many aftermarket bolt on performance accessories actually make the engine lose horsepower/torque. In all my years, I have never seen or raced a Saleen that was fast and in many cases, they are slower than stock due to the extra weight of the body kits and accessories that don't produce the hp increases they claim.
I agree!!
Their is nothing wrong with the Saleen product. The one off display cars they build are great looking and have power.
The problem with Saleen is that the business model created by Steve Saleen, David Fiene, David Weiner and KBM Worldwide is not to build production Mustang's, Camaro's, Brracuda's, Challenger's and Tesla's (give me a break). The business plan is to sell SLNN shares and bail on the OTCBB investor's.
It's the purest execution of a Pump and Dump scheme you could find. The BOD's has a PR company owner, and a POT magnate who has done this three times before and is being investigated by the SEC. Saleen's lawyer has quit the board.
Now Saleen is funding the company with a conversion scheme
that screws the investor's coupled with a Ponzi scheme that is using deposits to cover the payroll rather than buying parts to tune the cars that were ordered. This Saleen company is not a business at all and should not be a publicly traded company. The public needs to be protected from these scam artist's.
How can you say he knows NOTHING about Saleen, how can you say what he knows?? That's pure assumption at its finest.
You have "been around the Saleen brand for almost 20 years".. wth does that mean?? Been around?.. You have owned a couple Saleens so that makes you an expert?
You shouldn't be complaining. If the authors grand scheme is to drive stock down so he can buy low, guess what, so can you. The lower he drives the stocks, the more YOU can buy at a cheaper price. Why are you complaining??
We don't know what knowledge is in the authors head. Just because his occupation may be associated with doors, does not mean that is all he knows. What is your occupation? Are you knowledgeable about anything other than your occupation??
I agree 100%. Plus, as soon as the service writer saw it was a Saleen, they would be suspicious and as soon as the tech popped the hood and saw the Kenne Bell, they would shut the hood, march up to the writer and demand to get 2 hours of customer pay diag time. Period! For the record, Saleen does not have any custom parts except for the rear wing and the plastic insert on the trunk. Everything else are off the shelf parts that have had the names sanded or ground off.
I suggest you call a dealership, any dealership, talk to a service writer or manager and tell them your fictitious vehicle modified with performance enhancing parts and reflashes of computers has internal or external engine/trans/driveline/check engine light or drivability problems and see what they say. They will say they will diag your concerns for an hourly fee, and if the concern is related to your modifications, you will have to pay out of your pocket for the repair as your warranty will not be honored. Go ahead, make the call and report back to us.
This is silly. All auto manufacturers only warranty stock parts and don't warranty parts that were damaged by aftermarket parts. Lots of aftermarket parts are junk, lots actually do damage and most don't have much R&D into them. If an aftermarket part caused damage a vehicle, why in the world would that auto manufacturer be held liable. If the vehicle would have remained stock, the concern would have never been present. That's like a person putting a huge turbo on their mustang, boosting HP to 1000, then taking it to the dealership because their engine blew up and wanting a free warrantied engine. Or the guy who puts the 12" lift and 44" tires on his F250 then tried to get worn out suspension parts replaced under warranty. If the vehicle has been altered, it changes everything the engineers planned on therefore voids warranty.
There are no track comparisons because it would not be in favor of Saleen. Black labels have off the shelf lowering springs and sway bars and either stock or inferior tires(I have seen many black labels ship with complete crap tires just to save a buck) and don't handle much better than stock. The Kenne Bells that are on the black labels claim it boosts the hp very high, but I call bs. I have driven four 2014 black labels and was not impressed in the least. HP might have been up 75-100hp, but not the 600+ they are claiming. Im not a dodge fan by any means, but the hellcats engines are a beast. Hellcats hp is most likely underrated where as Black labels are very overrated IMO. Plus.. the Hellcats have engine internals that are designed for dependability and longevity with its rated horsepower. A mustang 5.0 with stock internals, which is what the black label has, is not going to have much dependability or longevity when cranking out 300hp over what the engineers designed its internals to put up with.
Saleen does alter the programming to the pcm/ecu's which could void anything to do with check engine lights, the ecu's themselves or even internal engine part failures. These days, lots of modules talk to each other so an internal fault in a pcm/ecu could affect many other vehicle systems too. Ford would not warranty anything related to what saleen modified. Saleen only has parts replacers on staff so would have to pay the dealerhip to diag the concern.
