What is Naked Short Selling?
Before we get into Naked Short Selling let’s understand the basic premises around short selling.
Short selling is the sale of a security that is not owned by the seller.
The motivation for short selling is an investor's belief that a stock's price will decline, enabling the short seller to buy the stock back in the future at a lower price and make a profit.
Normally, when one short sells a stock, their broker will lend them the shares to sell. The loaned stock will come from the broker's own inventory, from another one of the firm's customers, or from another brokerage firm. The shares are sold and the proceeds are credited to the short seller's account.
As payment for borrowing the shares, the short seller is charged a fee, quoted as an annualized percentage of the value of the loaned securities - i.e. a borrower of a stock with a 5% stock borrow rate will be charged $5 per year for every $100 of stock borrowed. Stock borrow rates change daily based in large part on the supply and demand to borrow that particular stock.
If the number of shares available to borrow is in short supply and/or great demand (which is often the case in highly shorted stocks), finding shares to borrow can be difficult and expensive.
A frequently asked question and outlined in our FAQ’s but let’s look at naked short selling from various perspectives.
How does naked short selling effect the stock market?
When a seller "naked short sells a stock" they do not own the shares they are selling and therefore are selling artificial shares. This is like counterfeiting a stock. This process creates an obvious unfair advantage to the seller and an imbalance in the market as the sell side is now increased with more shares – many of which are counterfeit. There is a time limit on how long the seller can sell these shares and be naked on the trade and the time limit is 3 days. This is where the RegSho rules come in and the data we track. If the sellers broker-dealer has not located a borrow to cover this short trade within 3 days they will need to purchase back the shares they have sold on the open market. This process is referred to as a "Buy In".
"When it comes to illicit short selling, the shorts win over 90% of the time"Naked Short – A license to steal?
Naked short selling is yet another creation of the securities industry and is in essence nothing more than a license to create counterfeit shares. When you are inflating the amount of stock that is outstanding in a company, this is considered counterfeiting. The rules justify the practice by saying it helps create smooth, efficient and orderly markets. Same stuff we have heard countless times around high-frequency trading, but in reality we believe this practice leads to shady characters creating unlimited supplies of counterfeit stocks which in turn results in your investment continuing to decline and you wondering why?
I am sure you here because you are a shareholder in a company that just continues to go down, and you have no idea why. Nothing material has happened but the trading doesn’t make any sense. We hear it all the times. Most CEO’s don’t even understand, and are baffled. The worst part is, good luck getting anyone to listen! There is a major epidemic going on right now with naked short selling right now.
It's funny when we hear CEO's say , I will just buy all the shares up and own the whole O/S and they wont be able to short me anymore. Really?
Read about: Global Links Corporation and see what happened when Robert Simpson purchased 100% of Global Link’s 1,158,064 shares. Then you will truly understand how the system is rigged. Back to counterfeiting…
Gets bought above $20.00 within 18 months. No worries there imho
Cash relatively unchanged q over q. Starts on track for 105 in 2024. Revenue over 300 million based on current metrics and pricing. Headed back to $10.00 imho
It works and it's just starting to run. Once it begins, there is no looking back
I dont think less than $18.00 will be agreed upon for starter talks to BP. BLUE has a better drug than crsp and will outpace them on many levels including speed and cell collections due to the fact vertex must do 2 to 4 collections for every patient to our 1. Bluebird can get back over $100.00 on their own with patient investors imho
Easy. Each patient is 3.1 million in revenue. Do the math and it's easy to see with 20,000 patients eligible in u.s.a. alone the revenue is in the 10s of Billions over next 5 to 10 years

Someone posted this on another board. Will this have an affect on sales or no?
.85 looks like a nice round buy in price for next leg up.
Headed much higher from here. Price target $11.11 by December. That's my target. Anyone else have any? Buying another lot soon if it drops low enough. These shorts will learn a hard lesson here soon 🤑🤪
Ok thanks
Unfortunately, now novo nordisk wegovy is approved in Europe for cardiovascular risk reduction by 20%, amrn will start to take a back seat before they even got started. Nobody has the money to promote wegovy and will become Europe's go to drug to not only cut cardiovascular events by 20% but also reduces the literal size of people. This is a gamechanger and Unfortunately amrn will file for bankruptcy within 2 years.
Sorry about the news 😕
Yeah, bit it's a 2 fold win. All the fat people in Europe get to lose weight and have cardiovascular benefits. Why take Vazkepa when you can take Novos miracle drug and kill 2 birds with one stone? Plus, Novo has tentacles and will be pushing wegovy as cardiovascular risk reduction in Europe. Amrn has no chance imho

Getting pretty crowded in this space. This will be the world's go to drug for cardiovascular risk reduction now. Denner should have sold plain and simple. Every year goes by now, more drugs will come online for cardiovascular indications. It would have been a nice bolt on to any BP 5 years ago, but now they're making their own way. Vascepa will disappear into the background and forever be forgotten. Alex Denner was too slow Joe
Alex Denners biggest mistake will be throwing in the towel on u.s.a. and building out Europe G.I.A.

There will be a treatment for Alzheimer's, but it won't be from amrn
Sweep, sweep. Sweep sweep sweep. Sweep, sweep.
Also, if it's the last quarter results that are public, why would this not be relevant might I ask? It's pretty standard in the industry for the last posted quarter results to stay relevant untill the next quarter or year end becomes publicly available. Do you know something the market does not on why the most recent c.c. would not be relevant??
Just wondering because the fact you question this would make one think you are fairly new to the investing world, which is fine, but I like to know where you're coming from that's all 🤔🤔🤔
I posted this because it was the last earnings on record. Q3 2023 results are a good indicator of growth and ramp for BLUE. The next c.c. is only weeks away for full year 2023 and fourth quarter 2023 which are normally combined into 1 earnings report and c.c.
Cheers
Reminds me of DNDN right before they filed bankruptcy, and they had 500 million in the bank. Know when to hold em, know when to foldem. The long hot summer with tax loss to follow will see new 52 week lows here. Go it alone in Europe was projected to be disaster and so it is. When I hear holt say quarter after quarter, we are pleased to have real growth q over q, it really makes me ask, where do these guys get their degrees from? I've personally been in business over 20 years and know percentages are nothing q over q when you have nothing to begin with. So 70% q over q growth in patients may seem high, but where is the benchmark??? 2200 patients on V after a year in one of Europe's largest markets is absolutely disastrous, nothing less. Imho
Finished divesting amrn today has allready been the best decision I've made this year. I felt like a load had been lifted. Just a word of advice here, amrn can and probably will see lower lows this year. The buyback is superficial unless European revenues increase exponentially, as they haven't. I maintain, Europe should have been paused and u.s.a. should have been built out. Alex denner made the biggest mistake of amrns life by essentially stopping u.s.a. and going it alone in Europe. They should have swallowed their pride, continued ramp in u.s.a and put Europe on hold. U.s.a. still has a 3 to 5 billion market potential and even 50% of that would have been significant to amrn revenue. I swear these guys running amrn now will be the last crew running amrn untill chapter 11 is filed. Should have listened to me Alex, now you'll be a casualty of your own 😤 pride
I gave Alex denner the benefit of the doubt. I gave him a year and all he did was remain silent and allow the sp to be trashed. Ultimately, he is responsible for a .90 cent sp. Expect a drop to .50 cents when the court case gets denied. This thing is an utter disaster
Lost all hope and faith here. I am done divesting. Hope you all prosper but I don't think you will as long as you hold this stock. Nothing has changed. I gave Alex denner 1 year and fortunately had to drop out. It's a shame what he has done in an entire year and one I cannot get back. Good luck to you and yours. This stock is cursed and run by naked shorting. Amrn will end up in Bankruptcy. It will take a few years, but it will. U.s.a. has been given up on and Europe is only at a few million revenue 2 years on. Truly a travesty folks what alex denner has done here in a single year. He also makes himself scarcer than hens teeth its sickening. Earnings are always a disaster and now they are being sandbagged. The buyback is only good if revenue comes in, otherwise its just trading cash for stock. Once the market realizes some stock was retired but at the expense of cash this stock will tank for good. Alex denner let pride get in the way and he should have sold. I'm completely out.
Cheers
Sorry again. Just one more dump then I'm done. I promise this time
🤣🤣🤣
Told all you guys here and nobody believed me. I said if I had to divest here you would feel it. Just spent 3 days dumping, just be happy I didn't do it all in 1 day. One thing I've learned here at amrn is never hold through a court date
😂😂😂
Sorry guys that's me again. Dumping a boatload more this morning. I woke up and realized I had another 180,000 in other accounts. Just divesting those as well
🤣🤣🤣
https://www.sciencealert.com/plastic-found-inside-more-than-50-of-plaques-from-clogged-arteries
I dont think v works on plastic 🤔
And Noone believed I had 635,000 shares to divest. Bwahahahahahah
🤣🤣🤣
Cya suckers
Sorry guys, that was me again. I'm done here and sincerely wish you all the best. Had to finish divesting.
🍻
Just dropped another 175,000 shares. Down to 300,000 from 635,000
I'll hold for 3 months. If nothing changes for the good I'm out
😁
Anybody want another 175,000 shares?
Back to delisting territory smh 😆😆😆
??? Are you serious? The o/s cannot and does not get reduced by shorts borrowing shares. Shares that get shorted are borrowed from institutions that have clients that own the shares. Has absolutely nothing to do with the public float numbers or total o/s
HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY WITH ALEX DENNER! YOU GUYS DESERVE IT 😃
CHEERS
BLUEBIRD BIO GROWING WINGS
I dont EVER see 1 billion plus x u.s.a. sales
If they do ever, it will be 30 years. We all said go it alone would end in disaster. Company needs to be sold at auction asap before denner bankrupts amarin. Bps only care about patent cliff and what they can make with the time left. Denner is playing chicken with a freight train and every day counts
Sold 110,000 last hour of trading. Tired of the S.S. here. Voted all my shares last year for denner and for what? The guy is a complete fake imho.
Sold a big chunk today bought blue. I'm sure it'll go up now lol
30% gain into next earnings and court approval with buyback. Nice tidy profits from here. Sell before earnings this time 🤣🤣🤣
R.S.I. and Williams R indicators showing grossly oversold now. Might tickle the pickle and inch in down here for the next ride up. Few here few there. Looking forward to buyback starting soonish
Cheers and happy hunting 😉
