Can anyone here articulate how exactly these security purchasing deals, like the one this Alpha outfit did, work? They clearly aren't shelling out a buck fifty per share when they could have bought at much lower prices. What's the catch? Does an underwriter get a bunch of shares to dump for facilitating the deal?
Is the pre-market trading taking place on the TSX, or are there US brokers that allow extended hours OTC action? TD doesn't allow it. Cost me an easy double, fml.
Interesting news today. Even more curious is that a poster on the Stocktwits RXDX board (goop) called this ten days ago. He stated on 3/13 that he works in biotech, and that colleagues were saying Ignyta is in discussions with several potential suitors.
I don't actually know anything about this company. Just happened to notice the news when it popped up on my Think or Swim feed. Very little chatter here or on ST. Nevertheless, it seems as though there may be more in the works here vs. the more heavily discussed stocks where everyone is constantly screaming "buyout!"
I refer you to my last two posts.
I'm joking.
Options expiration tomorrow. They're walking it down to .0049 in order to screw the .005 calls.
Yeah, I've noticed VNDM and BMIC with seemingly endless shares disguised as only 10k. But now the others on the ask look to be doing the same thing. How can you tell the difference between a dilutor and a dark pool seller?
Somewhat new. How can you tell which ones dilute?
How can you guys tell that CDEL, CANT and NITE aren't dilutors? Not being argumentative, just genuinely curious.
Looks like we have a few nibblers stepping in. Of all the the stocks I follow, this probably has the best multi-bagger potential. Could be in a matter of days, too, if not hours. Gotta be able to stomach the dry periods, tho. With the low volume & liquidity, these knuckleheads dumping at the bid sure can tank it fast. Seems to have decent support at .0065, tho.
I have never felt as though Hartman was a scammer or deceitful. Perhaps somewhat gullible, but he certainly doesn't strike me as a con man. Sure hope these pain patches are legit, and that the website is sleek.
Interesting how the board here has a better grasp of the market maker's tendencies than the crowds posting about the bigger $$$ stocks.
Are the ingredients in the patch based on the Fedeltrex ingredients? Or a new deal altogether? If not, how did Premier find their way into this game?
Whoa!
.006 going fast!
I mean, wouldn't these pricks rather dilute at .03/.04? Jesus...
Lets see some ETRM type action here! Back in for 300k @.0056.
This week last December was when I became aware of OXP manipulation. They closed AVXL right at 7.49, thus screwing the 7.50 calls. If memory serves me, it wanted a little higher that day, but they walked it right down.
Heh, that's awesome. Hopefully they start singing in the event they are connected to bigger players. Probably just gonna get their patties slapped, sadly.
Thanks for the quick reply!
ba, who were these guys arrested today that you referred to in your comments below the SA article? Can you give some more info as to what it was about?
Wow. Those scumbags are now labeling $AVXL longs as racists. Might as well call us a bunch of child molesters while they're at it.
Really sleazy. Such intellectual dishonesty and blatant obfuscation. I just cannot fathom where this comes from.
I wish I could articulate a more sophisticated response, but save for big news, yes; that would be my guess.
I have a customer that has owned a floor brokerage on the CBOE since 1982. I recently commented to him about how many of the stocks I follow uncannily close a penny below the call strike price on OPX days. He just snickered and said, "Yep. They must have had it pegged!"
So, according to a guy that is deep in the game, it does happen, and "they" do exist.
Saw your tweet at Feuerstein and Boyd. What do you make of these guys' hatred for Anavex?
I'm not a big believer in the short cabal conspiracy theory, but their unwillingness to be anything resembling impartial is curious. Actually, there is hardly a ticker on the board that Adam doesn't trash, but the way others pile on is really bizarre.
Do they see something we're blind to? Do they know something we don't?
Haven't paid too close of attention, but I haven't noticed any blatant spoofing. Are you seeing the smaller undercutting trades?
This will most certainly be a significant price driver.
Time and time again, we see a ton of pumping leading up to these calls. These run-ups are rife with comments like, "Oh, I'm sure the good Dr. is going to have a few surprises in store for the shorts!" and similar twisted logic, all the while ignoring the fact that if bombshell information were to be released, trading would be halted.
It is almost comical to watch the huge dump take place while these highly anticipated events are in progress. (Take IM*P's FB presentation last week as a recent example.) And, to be clear, I am not saying this to mock delusional longs; rather, it is more of an indictment of my own gullibility. Unfortunately, I have losses to prove it.
So, if one is inclined to trade vs. simply buy-and-hold, this is something to keep in mind.
All of that being said, I have a renewed excitement for Anavex. It is especially encouraging to see your enthusiasm with regard to yesterday's data, kld. I have followed your posts since early '15 at the YMB, and appreciate your skeptically optimistic view of this company.
So this is sorta random, but I found it to be curious...
I recently struck up a conversation with someone regarding ALZ treatment. Turns out his mother-in-law was on Donepizil, albeit briefly.
Apparently, prior to Aricept, said MIL couldn't string two words together. After her first dosing, however, she was talking a blue streak.
Articulate, aware...all basically overnight. Only problem, though, was that she was putting together the most vicious four-letter word combos known to man. She was so hateful with her newfound eloquence that they quickly elected to discontinue her treatment.
Anyway, just thought I'd share that. Maybe the 2-73 P3 trial can include "fewer random F-bombs" as one of the comparison arms.
Watching it like a hawk, although staying over a buck for NASDAQ compliance could perhaps dissuade them from doing that right away. Total speculation on my part, so take that theory with a grain of salt.
Hey humboldt- Just wanted to express my gratitude for your dd on this stock. I saw your concerns regarding Pernix over on StockTwits, which led me to your bullish IDXG posts. Christmas is gonna be a lot merrier, thanks to you!
All the best.
I would normally scoff at the "They" want your shares mantra. However, the action has been blatantly supressed this last week. Huge blocks on the ask, and when it gets pulled the price moves up sharply. (Only to get knocked right back down, of course.)
Is it a big short position trying to cover? A whale accumulating? A little of both? Is it in anticipation of a mere conference run-up pump? Is someone priming it for a nice move north in order to ultimately create a more profitable short?
Hopefully it is something bigger than all of that, as Anavex does seem to have some pretty compelling stuff going on right now.
Until further clarity, though, I expect this coming week to be full of gems like "Who would go all the way to San Diego just to present bad or mediocre data?" and "Oh, I'll bet the good doctor has a few tricks up his sleeve!"
Thanks to everyone that answered my options question. I just thought it might be a cheap roll of the dice in the event some big news dropped soon. But, yeah, probably just a waste of money.
I'll do that, although I would like to hear some feedback from people specifically interested in the same stock that I own.
Do any of you guys have a good grasp on options? I see on my TD app that 5.00 Oct. 21 In the Money calls are .15. So if I bought 10 contacts for $150, I would have to option to purchase 1000 shares at ? price in the event it closes over 5.00 on the 21st. Is that correct?
Also, any recommendations on future plays would be greatly appreciated.
AF twisted an obvious long-nosed, Pinocchio liar comment by basparks into an anti-semetic, hooked-nose remark. That guy sure can be a real pofs. (Adam, not ba.)
Also, there is a gal named Natalie Mitchell really handing Adam his ass.
Great day for Anavex. All the best to the long-suffering investors here!
My pleasure, and all the best to you.
Funny you should mention Boston, as he is the only person on Stocktwits that I follow.
Very interesting observation.
I followed the Exelixis (EXEL) YMB board for years and there was an absolutely fascinating poster (snowflakeformationxy) who had remarkable knowledge of the financial interests that controlled that stock. Clearly well-connected, the guy's insights were far more specific than the generic conspiratorial "they" stuff we see all over these boards.
On several occasions he stated things very similar to your thoughts, and his forecasts came to pass with stunning accuracy.
I don't even know why the hell I just typed all of that. I guess it's my long-winded way of saying that you just might be on to something there.
lol, no prob.
Ok, so I cleaned up that 47k @.099. Do I have to wipe out the .0114's as well?:)
Hopefully we have a joint venture news run up like Skyline Medical soon.
Was the float significantly lower at that time?
Was happy to see it hold up well today!
I'm finally even on this! Now if it will just go up to a dime or so, I'll get my A*XL $$$ back.
Let us go, go, go!

Just smacked it myself a while ago for 100k @.0098. Lotta good that did, lol.
