i tried to sell some at this level but my order was rejected. what's up with that?
WELL, THANK YOU MECHANICS UNION!! Just got squeezed out of the last of my shares. I'm done with this stock. Parker is an idiot and can't make a right move to save his life! Should have paid off the debt instead of buying shares. Pay a bigger divi. The market cap would be higher because it would prob be the same share price.
In reality, buybacks tend to not effect the share price, at least in the short term. The company is using its cash which is figured into the value of the stock to buy the stock. Less shares but less value divided between them.
its too bad they weren't repurchasing through that last drop.
SMH is an etf which holds MU. So it does have to do with Micron.
I think he is saying the time distance between them is shorter.
I do what works for me. I am mostly talking about selling puts in this volatile climate of MU. The position i mentioned I actually sold for $3.45 fri morning when it dropped and then I bought back my $61.50 puts expiring that day for $.95 later in the day when it recovered. Net profit $2.50 more and strike reduced to $59.50. T hat's how I roll, baby.
I'm self taught too. I got a nice slingshot from AMR/AAL. I'm at about 50x original investment. The equity of the AAL shares is what allows me to leverage into so many put positions
It depends how far out and what the stock is doing, but when I am looking short term (2-3 weeks) I am usually looking $1-2 under. depends on the premium. Right now I would look at the Jun22 59.5 for about 1.97. Something like that. I always do blocks of 20 contracts. So that's 4k in my pocket. Then I use the cash as it builds to buy Dividend payers for future income and to pay taxes, obviously, since this is all treated as short term capital gains. Get the snowball rolling...
exactly. I tend to roll rather than let them get assigned. The premium is really good right now because the stock is so volatile, but according to JLS I don't have any positions and I live in fantasy land.
I got involved with this stock starting at about $39 and rapidly grew the position and the puts More than half of my puts are so far out of the money its just a matter of waiting for them to burn off. Lately the new positions i open usually net about $2 for OTM puts 2-3 weeks out. Thats 4-5% return on the theoretical tie-up in 2-3 weeks. seems good to me. That's how I got so involved. I'll stay away from the politics in the future (I did not vote for Hillary)
You are the king of Ihub i guess. i bet you voted for trump. i'm not going to post the details of my portfolio. As I said I have about 18 different positions in MU (cc's, puts, and shares at different strikes and dates. It would be asinine to list them all.
Peace Out. I am not going to respond to you anymore unless you change your tone.
You start right off by changing my handle to insult me (tigerpoo). You want the details of my trades so you can JUDGE me to see if I'm for real. If you had read my post the answer was already there ( I take the sell side). I have 320 contracts running in 13 different positions between now and January.
You are very arrogant and condecending. My pedigree is that I started with a small buyin and have run it up to 7 figures in about 4 years.
GFY
You insult me, then you want advice? I'll give you some anyway. I always take the sell side of any option, that way I'm getting paid for time rather than paying for time.
No. just calling you out on being a dicktator. Just saying what probably just about everyone else on this forum is thinking.
I like this thing too, but I got way too involved (8k shares, 320 put contracts, and various cc's). hopefully it keeps going!!!
BTW Jls get a life. You put so much effort into showing everybody up, this is supposed to be for casual information.
after hours is treated as as separate session. if you did not include it in your order it will not execute.
wtf. they just can't get it right. stop with the buybacks. raise dividend. pay down debt. finish bankruptcy.
just got back from a trip to the Bahamas, key west, and Antigua. planes were all full. in fact, my outbound through dallas on oct 23 was cancelled due to storm and they had to put me on United because they had no room on any flights. I don't get it. Prasm should be good.
did anyone else notice that the outstanding shares is down to 696 million. was 770 million a couple of months ago, right? 10% retired...looks like the buyback is in high gear, or am I missing something???
yah, I sold 1k at 51.30. was out on margin so wanted to get rid of some (shares from a $50 put that expired fri) oh well. still holding core and fluff - 27k. go go go
you guys keep harping on the price of oil dropping and want instant gratification, but it takes time (months) for that drop in price to affect aal costs and then time to the next reporting to actually see it. I think the drop today is people holding til new year to put off gains. next week should be good.
looks like my 54.85 will be closest. look back at my post on dec. 4 right in the middle of the guessing. you never acknowledged it. just saying.
you missed me at $54.85 posted dec.4
actually you would pay 18.8% on anything over 250k plus any state taxes. If you live in a socialist state like Ca that could be as much as 12%.
you would have about 400k worth of stock right now.
you missed me at 54.85
all right. here it is. Ive been reading this board from the beginning. this is my first post. I was a stockholder before the bk issues (couple thou shares at ~ $4.00). bought many more at .28 up to .85 and buckled in for the ride. have held entire core. flipped a few blocks along the way. wowwww what a ride. my prediction is $54.85 for eoy.
