Good, I'm glad I'm wrong about the execs leaving. As I said, I didn't delve into the details. Maybe there is still hope here.
I haven't had a chance to delve into the details, probably because I have such a tiny position. My "knee jerk" way of looking at this company:
They bought Viascan, then later we find out that they have to write off $2 million of goodwill, meaning to me that they overvalued what they got. Now they are selling it and all the big execs are leaving the company.
Something smells really rotten here.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I probably am.
Volume has been over 100K the last few trading days, and we are edging higher. I don't see any news...anybody know what's going on?
Not that I disagree with what you wrote, but you stated "I tried to explain all this coming (and what was happening) in quite some detail.".
I looked back a year on messages on this board and I don't see a post where you explain all this coming...where did you do the explaining?
I cancelled the order when I read the quarterly release. As others here noted, it was just plain ugly.
Because this stock has disappointed for a year before I bought it, and it continues to disappoint, I didn't buy my usual position. Normally I average down, but I decided with this stock to average up...and set a goal of tripling my investment if it hit .50 (because then it would have proven to me that it does go up).
As you correctly note, my investment is tiny for me. It doesn't matter if I never get the 1,000 shares at .11. But the way this stock has acted the last 2 years, it seems likely I will eventually get it.
I don't fully understand where the supply is coming from, because the float doesn't go up (not by much). Typically it would be from people who only got paid in stock for work they did, and want to get some money now, regardless of stock price.
I own 1000 shares at .35 and plan to buy more at .50. That was my original plan. But recently I decided to average down and I put a GTC order for 1000 shares at .11 last week. Whomever is selling their shares down here, isn't budging to sell them to me. So that is good news for current shareholders, the stock doesn't want to go into single digits.
Haven't seen windough-shopper since April 10. I wonder if he still holds QUES or if he gave up.
I also agree with your assessment of the letter. It didn't have a desperate or panicky feel to it, just a recitation of the facts and what they want to accomplish in 2016.
Typically when I receive a shareholder letter, the company issuing the letter is desperate and trying anything to increase the stock price.
But since I am doing everything backwards with this stock, it is quite likely that the shareholder letter will provide a welcome boost to the stock price. Let's hope I get the chance to buy the stock at 50c in 2016.
I completely understand.
Last year I bought 1,000 shares at 36c. My typical investment style is to average down. However, since QUES is a micro-cap stock, I decided to go against my usual course of action and AVERAGE UP...I know, totally crazy.
My next buy point is 50 cents. If it never gets there, then I'm only invested $360 until then. At some point, the stock will rise to the fundamental value that we see in the financials, or we unfortunately find out that the company is manipulated and the numbers were never real, thus the stinky stock price.
When are earnings going to be released? The last one was mid august, so it should be due by now.
not necessarily. if it is an employee that has less than 5% of the float, and his shares are now unrestricted, no filing is necessary.
Clearly there is supply out there at 40c and under. The company continues to sell cheap shares, the last being on May 19th. It is hard to understand why that is happening when supposedly they are doing deals using an implied $2 per share. I guess because it is an easy avenue to raise money with little hassle.
Restrictions can be anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. We know the most recent sale is 30c/share on May 19th.
Prior restricted shares may have become unrestricted, thus the supply we've been seeing the past year keeping the share price down.
My GTC for 1000 shares at .37 filled this morning at the open for 0.3649.
On May 19, they sold 667,000 shares to an employee for $200K, which is about 30c/share...so I expect that to be the floor. It is hard to know how many more times they will need to raise funds by selling to employees at super cheap prices, but that is my primary concern.
I did 200000/667000 on the calculator and got .29985 per share.
I'm not a basher, I really want to buy QUES, but I've been burned too many times with small stocks that have almost-impossible-to-believe stories.
I think I may have found the persistent seller.
http://biz.yahoo.com/e/150630/ques8-k.html
"On May 19, 2015, Quest entered into a Security Purchase Agreement (the "SPA") with an accredited investor, who is also a subordinated debt holder and an employee of Quest, pursuant to which Quest issued 667,000 shares of Common Stock in exchange for $200,000."
That works out to just under 30c/share. Maybe he thought making 7c was good enough.
There's mention of a "First Amendment" near the top of the release..I couldn't understand what it means...can somebody translate for me?
If it tests 0.20, you shouldn't be in at all. The stock price has been in a downtrend for the past 12 months.
Instead, if it tests 0.50, then the downtrend is definitely broken and it would be time to buy.
I didn't think it was a big deal either...I was just posting it for the board's benefit since I saw the news item but didn't see it here.
I also bought AYSI on Friday. Agreed that it should hit $1.80s. Won't sell below $2 though.
I'm a first time investor in this company today. The quarter results are excellent. Is it possible that this is an anomaly, that they made unusually large sales this quarter, and we'll see down quarters going forward? In other words, is this quarter repeatable?

Put me down for $97.05 oil price on 12/31
ROCM -
There was some talk about this stock a few weeks ago. I bought a small position. I looked at it today and it has dropped quite a bit.
Whoever was bullish on this, what are your feelings now? What has changed?

Got your PM. Can't respond as I'm not a paying member.
I am flattered that you want me to participate in the PSL6. The lion share of my portfolio is in dividend-paying stocks. I don't do much research/investing in the Microcap Value stocks. So I don't really have much to offer in picking stocks in this arena.
Besides, I'm still in a bad mood because I had a major blowout with the subprime mortgage REITs in February.
EMGP -
Had a nice run since somebody recommended this stock a week or so ago. I remember the consensus that a fair value for the stock is near $4.
That's where it is now.
Is anybody selling here?
Dilution -
Any way to find out if the company is creating shares like a printing press?
EMGP -
Anybody dissect the earnings? They looked awfully good to me. Guess the market was expecting even better?
Ahh...MMRK...I have fond memories.
I sold that one over a year ago.
I've been mostly on auto-pilot, which was disastrous for me because I still had a boatload of NFI when the rug got pulled out from under me.
Started looking at this board again to redeploy funds and EMGP sparked my interest, even more so because it is paying a dividend. "YieldDude" is my middle name :)
EMGP -
Anybody join me today as a new shareholder? Last night I put in a Day Order for 2K shares at $3.15, went to work today and didn't watch the market...came home and saw it executed at 3:49pm today. Looks like the stock went on a wild wide...thank goodness I wasn't watching it because I would have paid up for it based upon the morning trading action.
Nuts -
Which nickle or precious metal stocks are currently in YOUR favor?
Nickle prices have gone up quite a bit already.
I'm thinking of putting in a low ball bid for F C X (Freeport) at 49.95. This will give me some exposure to gold and copper.
I have no precious metal investments at this time.
If one of your favorites pays a dividend, all the better. I have found since the 2000 crash that my portfolio does much better with dividend paying stocks that pay me to wait.
TIA
Rival Energy -
Haven't heard much about this stock lately (Canadian Junior oil/gas company).
I'm looking over my portfolio to sell some stocks, and this one is a not paying a dividend, and is trading close to my purchase price.
Usually when I sell, excellent earnings are announced within the next few days.
Bobwins, are you still holding this one? If so, why?

A GTC order I placed last week at $7.95 got filled today. I wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly.
I hope I can get back in after the Cramer-hype dies down.
What would be a good entry point to get back in? My gut is saying below $6, (but that's not very scientific, is it??)
I had to raise some funds, so I sold my 2K shares of BGH.V this morning at $1.65 US.
Of course they come out with excellent earnings today. They were supposed to come out yesterday, but somebody ratted me out and told them to wait until I sold this morning.
BGHSF my initial position I paid $2.21, probably what most people paid.
Now that I have my initial position, I'm not in any hurry to chase, and tried to get some more under $2.
Edit: Gilead, my $1.95 bid was all day Thursday (yesterday). I thought by your message that you bought yesterday too, but I see you didn't.
BGHSF-
Not sure how you got a fill for $1.94 yesterday when I had a bid all day at $1.95.
My bid for $1.96 today never filled, and now I see the stock is up 0.25cents canadian.
BGH.V
I put in a buy for 3K shares at $1.95 good for today.
They didn't fill me.
We are probably near a bottom for the stock.
I'll try again tomorrow at $1.96.
If I play cat-n-mouse again with the MM, the stock should stabilize here and stop falling.
BGH.V
Is it time for me to buy the other half of my position? It has gone down mostly ever since I bought it a $2.21.
Maybe I can steal some under $2.
DCL.V, DRLCF -
Anybody got any new information on this stock? Trading has been halted. How long before it resumes trading?
GFCI -
I just got an unsolicited fax on GFCI. They give a web site www.stocktipreport.com. Normally I chuck junk faxes, but this one is touting GFCI which I know about.
Since it is being blast-faxed to millions of people, I expect that the final price rise is in place now, and the people responsible for the blast-fax will be selling into the volume.
There is a disclaimer at the bottom of the fax that says RTV bought 180K shares at .192 and 39K shares at .26 and they may sell at anytime.
Personally, I wouldn't touch this stock now, and I would look to be unloading over the next few days while you have a chance.
