Have there been any case studies that show the competitive advantage of using LQMT? I continue to buy in small batches and I'm long on LQMT but what scares the blank out of me is how does OUR company make their customers money? Does material cost less, therefore saving money, is the product FAR superior than the competition justifying the extra cost, therefore making money.
Large scale companies don't want a novelty they have to make their owners money.
I live the technology and I am vey intrigued by the Medical Device application.
I hope (here's that word again) that they are scalable now and we can turn the corner.
Delivery
(Take this with a grain of "newbie") I've been in sales for 15 years and from my experience the worst thing you can do is over promise and under deliver. My perspective is that the technology hasn't been able to deliver up to now with Engel e-motion and maybe that is why they haven't been aggressively "selling". Are they finally scalable? Does Hauck now have the confidence to deliver on his promise?
"watching wide-eyed newbies streaming in here month after month with the same irrational exuberance"
I paid next to nothing for this stock (pennies) and my expectation is nothing. My upside is tremendous and that is what i am in it for. I understand that some here have realized significant losses and are upset at management BUT i am ok with the mismanagement. Had they managed this appropriately then i wouldn't have the upside that i now have.
I have had significant losses in stocks, siri, a123, zaap, on and on etc.. and i have won FB, JCP, WUBA etc... These were all choices i made and i live with, so please reserve your opinion of irrational exuberance of the "newbies" for yourself. Good Luck to everyone long!
Yes!
I am certain that building will not just be a data center but beyond that statement it's just conjecture.
I'll give you .10
Biocompatibility....
I learn more about this technology everyday! As someone who has two plates and 15 screws in my arm that were never removed and I now how chronic inflammation issues, this priduct would be amazing if it comes to fruition.
So many possibbilities...Hopefully (there's that word again don't hold it against me Watts) Mgt gets off their arses and get aggresive.
Thanks. Maybe that's why Visser sold shares? To purchase multiple machines???
Not that interesting....the word "precision" is used by EVERY machine shop, what are they supposed to say, "not precise", "unreliable", you get the picture. Heck, I've seen plastic companies use the word precise to describe the milk jugs they mfg
Nothing much but thought i would share
Rumor Blog excerpt from this morning:
iPhone 6s durability: Gorilla Glass, Sapphire Glass and Liquidmetal
There's some debate about whether the iPhone 6S will be more durable through the use of new materials including sapphire glass and Liquidmetal, but the bankruptcy of Apple's sapphire partner has put a spanner in the works there, to say the least.
GT Advanced Technologies partnered with Apple to produce sapphire glass at an Apple-owned factory in Arizona that could have been used to manufacture 200 million 5in iPhone displays per year, so without that partnership, the likelihood of sapphire glass being used in an iPhone any time soon is significantly damaged.
Corning, the company behind the durable Gorilla Glass that's used in Apple's current iPhones, has revealed a new type of glass, codenamed "Project Phire," that could be used instead of Sapphire, because it's apparently just as durable.
"We told you last year that sapphire was great for scratch performance but didn't fare well when drop," said Corning Glass president James Clappin. "So we created a product that offers the same superior damage resistance and drop performance of Gorilla Glass 4 with scratch resistance that approaches sapphire."
Liquidmetal is still on the cards, though. Apple has an exclusive license to the material, but currently only uses it for the SIM-removal tool, despite its desirable qualities such as durability.
Agreed!!
Hope-a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.
I made the decision to buy LQMT and now I HOPE that it suceeds! What's wrong with that?????
Mesa,AZ
Just a heads up, I drove out and tried scope out activity and there is not too much going on. my understanding is that they recently awarded the decommissioning of the GTAT furnaces. It's a pretty large project but I'll try to stay updated on it.
I get paid a salary to work which was agreed upon by both me and my employer when i started. I've received a bonus in the past for exceptional work at the end of the year paid AFTER the exceptional work and result were realized. This tends to be the model for most companies (sarcasm). In what world do they live where they give themselves bonuses for what they are going to do???
Just curious.... If you feel like you are going to receive this proverbial "special LiquidMetal knife from LQMT, to be worn in my back between my shoulder blades." then why enable them with a "YES" vote??
Or...
You can use my LQMT investment strategy, which i liken to a trip to Vegas with my buddies and we are at a Roulette table debating black or red and moving from one line to the other while the ball rolls and when it STOPS i won't be surprised if I win or if I lose!
(i am a new investor and will remain long)
My opinion on his logic of not sharing DD is he feels that it could drive the price up and he will not have the opportunity to purchase more shares on the cheap. That's his prerogative.
Now your quote "family - again, assuming all that's true"
wow...very passive aggressive...
Apple Car
Ok...follow me here...I think that Apple announced the AZ facility to be a data center because the cat had not been let out of the bag about the Apple Car. Most company owned data centers are about 50k sq ft. The super centers are upwards of 500k sq ft that host multiple multi billion dollar companies. The Apple plant in AZ is 1.3 million sq ft and where does that facility sit??? On General Motors old proving grounds that shut down a few years ago and may still have some infrastructure left. I think AZ is the ideal location for the Apple Car and for its many suppliers (LQMT) to reside because of the tax breaks that are given to relocate here.
Just some wild conjecture on my end. I don't even think i connected any dots...
Apple could lease out a portion of that huge facility to LQMT for production???? They don't necessarily have to be the entity buying Engel Machines
I live in AZ and have had the privilege of being in that building a few times while it was still owned by FS and let me tell you that it is absolutely mind blowing how big it is inside and there is no way that just a Data Center will occupy that space
Why didn't the technology (neveminding the stock) that Samsung used in their devices a decade ago not have lasting power?
Apple or Samsung??
Wouldn't it serve us better for Apple to be the company to announce the use of LQMT rather than Samsung
My account is fine. Must be some type of glitch
What i posted was a LQMT job posting, not Applied
Anyone have thoughts on the (mass production of a component) portion of this requirement from the Engineer Job Posting:
"At least 10 years experience working with CNC machines and or water jet machines, including production runs (mass production of a component)"
