Australian stabbing update:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13306795/Joel-Cauchi-parents-home-Bondi-Junction-Westfield-Toowoomba.html
As I have been saying for at least a decade, one of the signs of decay in society is not institutionalizing the severely mentally ill, such as this schizoprenic. The libs started closing mental institutions in the U.S. in the 1970's. And anyone who dismisses this incident and moves on, rationalizing it happened because the poor guy was mentally ill, imo, is as sick as he was.
al44: Do U honestly believe Democratic precincts would not allow them to vote.
And, since you don't have to show ID, if they are registered to vote, they can vote--period.
Look people, we have to prepare ourselves for the likelihood that Biden will not be the Democratic Party's candidate. If they run Manchin, they might win. HOWEVER, Barack Obama would not be Manchin's controller.
That is exactly what Steve Bannon and his posse are doing. Mike Lindell is working is tail off to secure the next election from fraud.
My thought for the day: If we do not get an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution stating that only citizens can vote, then stick in the fork. We do not deserve to be a democratic republic,
And if a State like California does not pass the Amendment, then there should be another Amendment that would invalidate the votes of people in the the dissenting States.
This mess can be fixed.
pos_stock_hoarder:
If worse comes to worst, I'm moving to Texas. It has its own grid and vast natural resources.
It can become an independent country.
The first thing the President Paxton of Texas would do is close the border!
lj: I am an internal combustion engine person. I'd like all EV's BANNED! And I know just the President who might do that!
lj: Bird flu is coming in time for massive mail-in balloting, which is unConstitutional, because there is no system for verifying that signatures on the ballots were verified.
al44: Those 19 Republicans are the MAGA contingent. MTG is the real deal, an amazing woman.
5 women knifed to death in Syndey, Australia mall this week.
Has this story been underreported? They haven't identified the killer. Having a leftist Government, that is not surprising. I'll be staying on top of the story.

lj: Old White Joe is headed back to the W.H. from Rehoboth Beach due to the imminent attack on Israel. The oil market should be interesting over the next several days.
If Trump were President, attacking Israel would be the last thing Iran would do.
Biden's big mistake was trash talking Israel publicly. I guess his puppeteers thought that was the only option, since it is obvious that Netanyahu told the old fa** to go do himself.
lj: If U can believe the Daily Mail, Iran is close to striking Israel.
$100 a barrel for Brent doesn't seem impossible.
When petrol flies past $4 a gallon, the W.H. will be more panicked by that than a war in the MidEast. Maybe that is too much cynicism, or maybe not.
lj: 2024 is going to be a weird year for ngas production and storage. Switching to the other gas, the price at the Marathon I passed in Baltimore City was $3.60, I believe. It is usually the station with the cheapest petrol. Filled my tanks a the week before last, so it was a shock to see the prices today. It is headed to $4 a gallon, imo. Iran is reconsidering its threat to retaliate, so maybe oil prices will stabilize.
Should we be considering DBO. If I buy it, oil will drop $20 a barrel!
lj: Oh, yes, I almost forget. VTLE. Well, well, well (no pun intended).
I am actually beginning to think I might break even on one of my lots, but on a scale of 1 to 10, my enthusiasm for that happening is about 3.
lj: Temps in the 80's here for a couple of days next week. At least people can run their AC's earlier than usual, and the HVAC people will be flooded with calls for repairs. That will result in fewer calls when the hot weather sets in for the summer.
This is bullish for oil but a disaster for the U.S. economy--potentially.
Of course we have to keep in mind that Lindsay Graham wants the U.S. to bomb Iran's oil fields. That would get us to $200 a barrel in no time. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13295143/Joe-Biden-vows-ironclad-support-Israel-amid-fears-missile-attack-Iran-imminent-Tehran-clears-airspace-military-drills.html
lj: I heard that Blackrock cannot wait to start profiting from rebuilding Ukraine.
lj: So what you are saying is "Short Turkey"! It will be very interesting to see whether the Turkish President's tactic to stop the carnage works.
As Mummar Ghadaffi commented when Bush went into Afghanistan, "Running up and down mountains is no way to fight terrorists". A good modification of that statement would be bombing civilian areas is no way to fight terrorists. It creates more hate that will last for hundreds of years. Mankind learns little from its history.
lj: I'll say this about Ukraine. Most of the bombing Putin has done seems targeted, not random.
The media has not reported on civilian deaths in large numbers. Still, war is evil.
lj: Israel will retaliate against Iran. Not smart.
A coincidence or something sinister? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13281989/APL-Qingdao-loses-power-Verrazzano-Bridge-two-weeks-Baltimore.html
lj: For a couple of year, refiners have been moving in tandem with oil producers.
That tells you that logic and common sense is out the window and refiners are considered "oil" stocks. When I first noticed it happening, it drove me crazy.
lj: With an interest rate cut looking less likely, it seems a big selloff is coming.
Could the oil market be manipulated by evildoers who do not want interest rates to fall in the U.S.? Is that too conspiracy theorist?
lj: VTLE
All I can say is, "good gravy". That expression makes me nostalgic for the days when gasoline was 35 cents a gallon!
90 percent hedged. Not 90 percent of the hedges, but 90 percent of the production.
Management needs a new crystal ball.
LJ: Forcing EV's on people who do not want them is a first-class form of tyranny.
Let's face it, the Government and Ford and GM have "conspired" to do just that.
As DJT has warned, there is going to be a "bloodbath" in Detroit if Biden is reelected, as China floods the U.S. with their low-cost EV's.
r59: Yep. That is the reason. The big money is locked and loaded in the market, waiting to dump on the good news--the first Fed cut in interest rates--.25. Looks like the good job market, coupled with higher oil prices, will upset the greedy hogs' apple cart!
This scary news should result in Myorakas being kicked out.
He should be tried for treason and sent to Gitmo, some say.
I cannot possibly comment. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13272759/tuberculosis-outbreak-chicago-migrant-shelters-urgent-contact-tracing.html
al44: You cannot rule out that Trump will pick HER!
lj: OT
U are one of the few people who knows what a Trumpy Bear is!
al44: Interesting news todays: Tusli Gabbard turned down an offer to be RFK, Jr.'s running mate. That should tick off the woman who accepted the offer, Sergei Brin's main squeeze.
Or not, if she is onboard to get her name out there.
It is going to be a crazy 7 months.
By the way, the LGTBQ do at the W.H. on Easter will get a lot of votes for Trump from fundamentalist Christians, and hopefully, African-American Christians.
However, if they are able to cook the vote using mail-in ballots. . . .
Are they going to trot out the bird flu in time for the election?
Come back next election at the same Wuhan bat time, at the Wuhan bat cave.
lj: GRRR
I logged on to find out whether you saw the annual earnings report.
MTG has nothing on the CEO. He told off the "naysayers" in that PR or whatever it was.
Congratulations on a good call when it was several dimes lower.
If they announce another big contract, things should get interesting for the stock.
Things could get interesting as the eps rises.
When I first purchased the stock, it was several dollars higher.
lj: Hailo
Get back to me if the stock is publicly traded, if you are going to follow it.
Do a homey a fave.
littlejohn: VLO
I am emotionally attached to the 200 shares I have owned for 18 years give or take.
However. . .the price is in the stratosphere. To be honest, I do not want to take the capital gain because I have an NVDA call out there that would cause a $55K profit. Based on my experience with the first call, which I rolled out into this one, it is very unlikely to be called this year. (It is a Nov. or Dec. 2025.)
Is gasoline demand going to go crazy this spring? Are you taking into account all of the crazies who are rushing to the eclipse next Monday that might be behind clouds?
Are U in the total eclipse belt? 90 percent here.
I think this will be another big summer for air travel for vacations.
And, the biggest gas guzzling circumstance of all--Trump rallies!
Commie Bernie still pushing the 30-hour work week. The one thing the U.S. has going for it is the work ethic of its labo rforce, which has eroded post-pandemic. His plan is all part of the planned destruction of the U.S., imo. How ironic that he is a member of the political party that wants open borders. Does the average illegal work 40 hours a week. More like 80 hours a week. White man from Vermont speak with forked tongue!
https://www.yahoo.com/news/bernie-sanders-time-4-day-160244226.html
lj: VLO Up $5 (as of 2:20 p.m. EDT). Glad I kept some of my position. Once again, VTLE is stuck in a rut. Again, the glass half-full spin is that they are selling lots of oil that is not hedged.
Given the mess in the Middle East, would the U.S. have any influence on the Saudis to get them to turn on the spigots. Would tghe idiot Biden regime even try. To their sick way of thinking, the higher oil goes, the higher the sales of EV's in the U.S. will be.
al44: The $64K question is whether the Democrats will pull a number at the convention and run someone else, like Gruesome Newsom. The Convention is about 4 months away. Biden has to keep appearing like he is awake for 4 more months.
al44: Good for him. Now young women can turn out in droves to vote against him when he runs for reelection.
What I do not "get" is that female athletes compete against these people; they don't walk out.
If they boycotted events, things might change.
More fuel for DJT's reelection campaign.
The Republicans have to go after college-age women athletes, and all women athletes for that matter.
The transsexuals who compete in these events are very distrubed people, imo.
And, if they still have their male equipment, they are NOT transsexual; they are transvestites.
Period. End of discussion.
r59: GE
I hope to build a bigger position over time. Bought a small position today, to be more onboard in case the stock does not have a correction.
What interests me is the debt of the parent company and the spinoffs. If I ever find time, I plan to read the filings.
r59: GE is having a good day, up 5 points earlier.
lj: Gasoline prices
At one of the higher priced stations, saw petrol at $3.60!
If my lawn cutter decides to raise his charge due to higher fuel costs, I'll point out that he uses a battery powered lawn mower.
If the higher prices last a few months, the Fed will not be able to lower rates, which will cost the U.S. Government a LOT of money over the long run. If the Fed signals it will not be lowering rates, but staying the course, look out below in the stock market.
