Anybody have any idea who is funding these private placements and any thoughts on why? I don't think I have ever seen a single one of these private placements see the light of day so why are investors still throwing money at this? Also anyone know if NW is still involved?
Thanks Vator. Appreciate the response. I have been slow getting back on this site - sort of like an ostrich.
Thanks Jack2479. Appreciate the response.
How to join the lawsuit? Does anybody know if warrant investors need to proactively join the suit in order to participate in the payout or are we, by default, part of the suing party? If we need to proactively join is there a process? Thanks
Can anyone tell me what the latest speculation is on Woodfords investment? Do we believe he is still invested? Is he a friend or foe of NWBO management? Has he mad any remarks as to whether he is still a believer in the technology? thanks
Did you send it to a generic mailbox or Les? Can you share that email address?
Thanks
Understand. Frustrated - posters are spending more time on this board discussing conspiracy theories we have no control over versus a management (that can affect change and has a responsibility to shareholders) that so far has never missed an opportunity to make a mess of matters that. I understand the AFs of the world have their agenda but I find myself questioning the authenticity and motivation of some of the cheerleading posters as well.
I have been a long time investor in NWBO - pre-reverse split- and I have seen the highs and the lows. I am having a very difficult time coming to grips with this management. There is absolutely no transparency. Should there not be some statement from the company as far as who are these investors? Why are they funding at a SP price down 75% from relatively recent highs? What does $12.5mm do for NWBO? It doesn't seem like a lot of money so what are the prospects here and what is that money going towards. I know this Board is cheerleader central and count me in but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be questioning management. Thats premised on all the posters being the real deal.
Can we please have a serious discussion here?? The stock has tanked 60% in the past 3 months, 30% in one day and the best that management can come out with is that 'we are investigating if there has been stock manipulation'? How about telling us something about your product development - i.e. the reason why I invested in you? Keep in mind this is a biotech company not a hedge fund. Worst.Management. Ever.
Just called and got transferred to the communications/pr office. Left message, name & number. For better or worse, we need to compel MD Anderson issue a statement on Dr Buzdar's statement reflects the institution's views.
So the company issues these press releases without passing it by the clinic that is running the clinical trials??? Either someone got their wires crossed, this is the latest AF fictionalized reporting or this really stinks to high heaven. I guess we'll have to wait & see the NWBO response.
Talk of FDA approval
Thanks for the reply Dok. The news was good but I do believe that it is, at best, - given the space NWBO is taking at ASCO and given the German approval- at best, to be expected. Its a low benchmark and just reiterates what any Board member has safely assumed and its already in the price. If any of us expected anything less than I can only ascribe this to AFs blogs affecting those investors expectations. But my other gripe is the self confident prognostications of lofty news to come that some Boarders have made -i would like to hear more from them..
Sorry Jack - not sure I understand the AF reference. Do you think his goal is to oust LP?
Thanks – I am new. The Board is informative and definitely helpful but I am having trouble discerning what is BS/manipulative and what is real when its all anonymous. It's frustrating. LTT vs Pyrr – opposite ends of the spectrum. I don't expect a proper investment analysis but do expect honesty. There’s enough squirrels running around when investing this category so I would like to filter the noise.
I have as strong an interest as anyone else on this Board to see this stock move up. But I also would like to read an honest Board. I am having a hard trouble discerning whether the cheerleading on this Board is institutional and/or constitutes malfeasance or its genuine self-delusion and overly optimistic projections. But in any event, it would certainly be helpful to all of us to hear back from those posters (i.e. Pyrr) who have been throwing out the most optimistic projections and have them address the current state of affairs – i.e. missed their own estimated ‘projected’ announcements/milestones and where we stand. Instead we are getting more cheerleading –its misleading to say the least.
A month ago many of you were talking about the PR that would make this pre-ASCO period a success- UK approval, FDA Accelerated Approvals, German numbers/revenue projection and many other cherries. So far the 2 PRs have just captured whats been already been baked in the cake – safety and, to a lesser extent, efficacy – but nothing new and nothing that this board has been touting as the upside expectation. Yet the board is saying the news that’s been released in the last week is ‘fantastic’. Why is that? This is nowhere close to meeting the expectation bar that the cheerleading committee has set for the last month or so. Am I missing something? Are we expecting more at ASCO? Or are board posters being dishonest here?
anybody have any insight/opinion on gcvrz? Do we know how the milestones are progressing? thanks
The fact that everyone is so focused on PR translates to anyone not on this board as if we were strategizing on how management can manipulated the stock price which is worrisome as an investor. Being an investor I have faith in the product but this Board dialogue and the approach LP has taken on releasing news makes me seriously question the leadership at this company.
Is it fair to say that everyone agrees, be it bull or bear, that some level of aggregate data disclosure has to take place over the next 2 weeks or else, in all fairness, we need to start questioning LPs approach or the vaccine itself?
Thanks for submitting. Honestly, that article did not sound negative at all. Looks to me this is just a case of some investors getting caught in the frenzy this morning and, when they didn't get the bang they wanted for a quick trade, they chased their stop losses all the way down. Looks like this may be done in which case, as Pyrr said, we may get an afternoon bump.
Long- I don't know about shorting this stock anywhere around here. Sounds a little aggressive. Have you looked at the short interest lately?
Afford - please take off your pompoms and say something of substance. That seems to be a common theme across all your posts which discredits anything you write and leads me to question you. I asked a very concise question - which I imagine everyone on this board that is a 'true' investor is thinking about. I gave you a chance to lay out your investment thesis and actually educate the rest of us- so use it. If you are for real
ASCO expectations.
Given all the hair splitting dialogue and speculation on ASCO expectations that has dominated this board since LPs last public appearance I am confused on what posters expectations are going into ASCO. I think it would be very useful to hear from different posters -1) what are your expectations for ASCO 2) What would be a negative surprise 3) what would be a positive surprise?
My expectation is that NW will use ASCO as a forum to showcase, in person, patients/clinical trials. I think 2) and 3) will be subject to any NW/LP comments releases around DMC/FDA interactions and trials. I think continuation of the trials, no real data and more status quo with no real new news most likely a negative since expectations have been built up. Anything around UK approval, although its been cooking for a while, is a positive. If anyone would be kind enough to go further in the weeds and differentiate between DC-Direct versus L in terms of expectaions that would be great – I can’t even pretend to be that well informed.
Thanks Dok. Just started reading the Board last couple of weeks so trying to seperate the proverbial wheat from the chaff.
I have a question for the forum. The current reported market cap of the NWBO, given outstanding shares, is $330mm. However my understanding is that there are slugs of outstanding warrants struck not too far above here (7.50/8?) which amount to a 2x multiple of the outstanding shares. So as an investor do you look at NWBO as a $1bn market cap company or $350mm market cap company? Is this something that others care or look at?
Do we know the expiry on these new 'non-warrants'?
Thanks Austin. Like you I too am very long - and getting longer NWBO. And like you I also think, as an investor you need to be constantly reevaluating your investement since variables are always in flux. I will caveat, like others have mentioned, I see a $32mm investemnt by an investor (group of?) at 8% discount to closing SP as a huge positive. In the past I been concerned about the lack of institutional investors and therefore this is good.
But I do feel that LP owes the investors an explanation on the back of her comments at the last conference ('balance sheet has never been better') in light of this raise, why do it when ACSO is less than 2 months away and disclosure on the identity of the investor. Not doing so is more fodder for the nay-sayers and, given that this is a public company, there are obligations.
Thanks Long. Agree that the German approval is a game changer and it does feel like we are at an inflection point in terms of PPS. You mention single vs multiple pipeline. I'm going to show my ignorance but I thought it has been suggested that DCVAX could be applicable in the context of all solid state tumors. So assuming my interpretation is correct could that be viewed as multi- pipeline? Or is the issue that that specific multi application still very far away - ie low probability- and therefore not in scope?
Thanks guys. Appreciate the feedback. As I said earlier I tend to approach things very rationally (take a look at my Saty post if you have a sec). As such I worry about drinking the cool aid too much especially when reading the board- as we all should - and it's refreshing to see that we are more/ less of the same mind when it comes to downside risk.
Afford - thanks for getting back.
Thank you. That's along my thoughts as well. Yes, I think we are well aware this is a speculative investment but having said that risk/reward seems to favor- by any stretch- a bullish view. I am, like others have mentioned, thinking of increasing my position but I am trying to figure out if there is something that is in the public markets that I am not aware of. Since price/market cap is everything I thought I would ask the question.
I am not talking about Wall Street. I am talking about Private Equity/Hedge Funds that concentrate on Bio-Tech. There are quite a few. Facebook had angel investors knocking on their door the moment their 'open for business shingle' was up.
I am not saying you are wrong but you're not answering the question. I think its VERY safe to assume that at some point LP made the rounds of institutional investors - she's smart and she's connected. NWBO is out there. So why havent are they not involved?
Why is NWBO still a $300mm market cap?
I have a question - specifically for those posters that are bullish. For sake of disclosure, I am long NWBO and have been for a while. Whenever I see one sided postings that reflect blind zealotry - both long and short - I get concerned and I discount the comment. To the credit of some of the longs on this post I feel that there has been plenty of thought around your comments. However the one question that no seems to have asked or answered is - given the promise and recent developments around NWBOs products and research why is this company still trading at $350m market cap?? Any bull with a grain of salt should be posing this question - and please do not say NWBO is flying under the radar or its the AF effect-there are plenty of institutional in this field who pay a lot of $$ for a level of research & coverage we cant begin to imagine.
Again, I am long but that old saying keeps coming to mind-'if you cant spot the sucker at the table then....'
I am very new to this site and unlike others I am not an an expert in statistics or in the bio medical field but I like analyze any investment in 2 camps- the knowables and the unknowables where clearly the knowables should always outweigh the unknowables.
In this case we know-
- this is effectively a start up and as such we are all aware of the risks it carries- this could be an all or nothing bet.
- the German regulators have entered into a contractual arrangement w NWBO. This screams stamp of approval by any stretch
- one of their big investors happens to be another large sovereign fund
- this company has been at this research for a very long time. I'm in this stock- pre reverse split- 8+ years
- LP has put a large of her $$ and credibility on the line here. Has anyone taken a look at her bio?? I'm quite sure she can make a very good living without putting her credibility at stake w NWBO
- the drugs are in various stages of FDA testing - I would argue advanced stage
- the competitive landscape, provided NWBO makes it through the regulatory hurdles looks good. Correct me if I'm mistaken.
- ASCO (sp?) is clearly another milestone
The unknowable is nothing more than point one above -for better or worse there's no assurance that this is a complete flop or massive break through. But you knew that day one so the knowables (above) have only reinforced the investment thesis since day one- they've predominantly positive.
That's my investment thesis.
With regards to the conjecture around the population pool expansion I think it's just that- conjecture. But again, if I apply common sense, there was no obligation for LP to participate in the conference (I believe she announced she would 24hrs beforehand) so why participate and along that theme why disclose news that is perceived as negative when there is no obligation unless she viewed as positive or BAU? As others have pointed out, the option to expand the pool is not a new development.
