I was looking at the BitTorrent site and you have 30 days to watch a movie but the movie expires from 24 hours once you press the play button. And you must use WMP.
I wonder how that will go over?
I looked for The Matrix on their homepage and it only had 3 seeds and 2 peers. I wonder how long that takes to download????
I can see the wait for download for these movies as a big turn off.
Something Reeltime does not have.
BitTorrent targets downloads market
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17333249/
The BitTorrent Entertainment Network will offer downloads of films and television shows from studios including MGM, Paramount and Fox.
Its launch follows the unveiling of Joost, a software video project set up by the founders of Skype, the VoIP telephone company, which has also struck content deals with big media groups.
YouTube to post classic TV shows
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- YouTube Inc. plans to offer more than 4,000 hours of classic television shows, including "I Spy," "Gumby" and other material from Digital Music Group Inc., an online distributor of independently owned music, TV and film catalogs, it was announced Monday.

WALMART ENTERS ON-LINE MOVIE AND TV SALES.
Unlike some offerings, Wal-Mart will not rent films online. The films can be played on a PC or transferred to Microsoft Windows Media-compatible portable digital players. The movies will not play on Apple computers or the popular iPod.

Netflix to be delivered on the Internet
LOS GATOS, Calif. - Netflix Inc. will start showing movies and TV episodes over the Internet this week, providing its subscribers with more instant gratification as the DVD-by-mail service prepares for a looming technology shift threatening its survival.
The Los Gatos-based company plans to unveil the new "Watch Now" feature Tuesday, but only a small number of its more than 6 million subscribers will get immediate access to the service, which is being offered at no additional charge.
Netflix expects to introduce the instant viewing system to about 250,000 more subscribers each week through June to ensure its computers can cope with the increased demand.

I still see no value to owning a download that you burn to DVD. I question why people think this is a good way to go except for investments made by the companies that are pushing it. I still say on demand via the net is the future. It just may be awhile longer.
AOL/Time Warner had it right in the 1990s when they talked about everything merging over the net for viewing. I still see that is the future.
Well at least you are not seeing massive selling (i.e. stock options being sold off.)
GOOGLE filed some of their financials today. It will be interesting if they include the VIDEO sales revenue on their income. I would like to see what someone is actually making. Will have to wait till tomorrow to see the full filing, though.
I watched the Hitchcock thriller '39 steps' on Reeltime. Good movie for those into his style and excellent delivery. Highly recommend.
What is going to be interesting is what revenue Google Video comes out with in the next filing. The last filing in June said that no revenue from Google Video is included data, since it was only launched in the 1st Q of 2006. Would be nice to see what they are generating.
3Q Earnings come out on October 19, 2006.
I am so bummed! I was at work and missed all the excitement. I only saw the damage after hours. But congrads to those who bought more. That was a nice dip.
I am not so worried about volume. It is basing very nicely once again.
I have to say that I know he is working on more content but I would just be happy this week with more of the Dick Van Dyke show. I loved that show and I enjoyed watching it on RLTR.
I know I am in the minority, however.
Article: ReelTime aims to be big-time entertainment firm

This system is perfect for cell phones/portable devices because they are forced to be networked. I wish that it would show some big development in that area.
Undoutably those are market sells so MM are grabing them at lower prices.
Well I am certain that Reeltime's beta test is being monitored and participated with competitors who want to know what is going on. I was looking at NETFLIX the other day. It was $19.99 when I joined back in 2002. Now it is under $6.00 a month. I guess they are under massive pressure. They can't compete with other venders unless they change platforms. Look at WALMART as another player. They also want a piece of this pie.
One of these two companies will have to change in the near future. Of course they might buy instead of develop, but they have to change. They can't afford to go to much lower prices and there is no need to go lower when VOD will lower their costs much more.
As an aside, expect postal rates to go up if NETFLIX changes.
Also, look out for AOL. They have TIMEWARNERs whole library to air.
I was just typing out loud.
It based at above 1 cent, then 5 cents, then 15 cents looks like next base. If this trends holds true then next push should be 60 cents then base at 45 cents.
What helped was the news AFTER the online trade restriction was lifted. Plus all the talk of VOD by the big boys. This looks like the next big internet wave.
So is Atrade. eom
Reduction of shares most likely means that they are looking for a bigger exchange if and when PPS rises. At least that is how I see it.
One issue: Did Barry talk about Advertising?
'A business without advertising is like winking at a girl in the dark. You know you're doing it but no one else does.' Patsy Stone.
A watched stock never moves as much as one likes.
I regret ever posting here. I even posted on RB awhile back about this board and I regret that. Seems like there is always some fool who has to type in all caps just because they want to get attention to a stock and will make outrageous claims just to pump a stock so they can dump it for a small gain.
Good luck everyone; I am going on quiet mode.
This is a good time to launch. Many studios are coming on line so there will be buzz in the market/investing community for companies who are focus on VOD. I think this is the start of something big. Plus, someone could buy RLTR since if they want the technology. Look at Broadcast.com and what happened to them.
Still haven't sold a share, and bought a lot near the bottom over th e course of a few months (Stupid partials!). Probably will not for a long time.
I just hope by advertise they do not try 'LEBED'.
The news on the website has been changed to exclude the words 'next month'. It states:
" We wish to thank all our supporters through the process of our 2005 beta tests, and we look forward to many hours of viewing pleasure together, when we launch. "
So perhaps they caught hold of people posting it??
Nice move today by the stock. I guess people are playing the CC tomorrow. Good luck everyone.
Until the fundies lobby Congress to stop it. lol
Well as with any stock the sky is the limit. The key will be promotion of the company as so many people have not heard about it.
Not 100K, 100M.
Sorry about that. Last time I type fast!
A new report came out and there is no real dilution. Still only 100K stock out there. Waiting for news.....
Sorry- didn't see they canceled the deal. Opps.
MLXO gonna be a dilution machine soon. Going from 100 Million to 1 billion shares.
Another PR today noting third quarter launch. Something coming.
Yeah, I saw that notice, too. Looks good for a launch.
It is called profit taking. Every stock has it happen to it.
RLTR filed an annual report and is now quoted (again) on Pinksheets. Looks like they are trying to keep up to date. Sounds good to me.
