Well I am certain that Reeltime's beta test is being monitored and participated with competitors who want to know what is going on. I was looking at NETFLIX the other day. It was $19.99 when I joined back in 2002. Now it is under $6.00 a month. I guess they are under massive pressure. They can't compete with other venders unless they change platforms. Look at WALMART as another player. They also want a piece of this pie.

One of these two companies will have to change in the near future. Of course they might buy instead of develop, but they have to change. They can't afford to go to much lower prices and there is no need to go lower when VOD will lower their costs much more.

As an aside, expect postal rates to go up if NETFLIX changes.

Also, look out for AOL. They have TIMEWARNERs whole library to air.
