Yeah, I wonder if that’s a mistake by the writer.
They have to drop the iPhone 12 before the big news gets out that it is LiquidMetal, lol.
Lol, true enough!
Yes, it’s just a matter of time. We have a lot of cash on hand to float us for years, but let’s hope Prof. Li doesn’t want to burn through millions just to keep the lights on. It seems to me that LiquidMetal is production ready through Eontec, so if we don’t see something by 3QTR, I hope that Prof Li makes some changes.
I am still disappointed that we shut down our production capability. Hopefully Prof. Li will circle back to this in a bigger way.
Competition ramping up? Competition with a trusted partner?
Thanks for posting.
Well, we keep at it now because LQMT still has a boatload of cash on hand. There is time, but not so much patience when we see that there is manufacturing technology and capacity to make some significant sales. We understand the advantages of the material properties, and it just seems like a no-brainer for uptake.
I am afraid you are right and all indications are that we are on the back burner for the near future. I am afraid you are right that Prof. Li is just going to let the BB team play around and keep the lights on while he ramps up Eontec and partners manufacturing.
We have a new manufacturing partner that might be able to do or is doing something. That’s my 3 QTR hope. Maybe they are going to be making suture kits. Dunno.
I love/hate this company.
One thing is for sure, offering an opinion that is a different view should not elicit negative responses, but should encourage debate. Responses like “sell your shares” and “you should move on” are neither clever nor contribute to forwarding discussion. This stock, this company, has a history of major issues that apparently are not resolved to date. Maybe something is going on behind closed doors, but we have nothing from management that indicates an imminent large sale of anything. Hence, seven cents for months. Those of us with larger stakes certainly want to see this succeed and there is enough capital to float the company for years, but I for one, think everything is in place to see some sales. If we don’t see anything by 3QTR, then I say Prof. Li needs to reevaluate leadership at our company.
It’s never a good idea to issue ultimatums or decide for someone else how to manage their investments.
Well, we haven’t any recent news of sales that I know about, and the only ongoing production that has been announced is guitar pins, right? Maybe I am missing something? Nobody is getting rich on guitar pins. Maybe Ford or Tesla will pop in with sales soon, or from medical. That’s what I am looking for by 3QTR, not Apple.
I think so too, not only RF transparency but heat sink, too. Plus, I read the Apple Glass may be tied to the Watch rather than the iPhone. I read that’s a critical reason why they need 5G in it. It’s the perfect material and let’s hope Apple sees it. But that is at least two years off, IMO.
Apple may also be looking at better transmission through micro-led. They are using those on an upcoming version, either this one or next. All we can do is wait and see.
Sadly, I just think there is no news.
That’s interesting. I still hope it’s for the Apple Watch. I’ve had three so far - I am hard on the case because I wear it all the time; work, exercise, play. With the larger shot size, they could pump these durable Watch bodies out like chiclets. Thanks for posting.
If Apple was going to use LiquidMetal this year, I am sure we would know from the leakers by now. I read that Apple chooses material in the fall for the following year’s products, so not expecting anything Apple this year.
It’s probably going to be a long, dry summer as Watts suggested. Hopefully we will have news by 3 QTR of something sold.
I have been expecting LiquidMetal in the Apple Watch since it came out. It would seem to be the perfect application for a number of reasons; thinner case, durability, signal transmission. Let’s hope for a LQMT limited edition.
Thanks much, I’ll be watching!
As always, thanks for sharing your analysis. Some movement would be nice to see, but I think it can only go up. Shares less than seven cents seem to get gobbled up.
Well, I am in it to find out, too. With so much cash in hand, we can be strung along for years waiting. We might be close to being in the black with some small sales. Let’s see by 3QTR.
Did you see the news about Apple Glass? There’s another muse for speculation.
It always comes back to Prof. Li’s lack of direct communication with investors.
He simply is not going to make any statement. It’s obvious that he refuses to do so. He might have unknown restraints that prevent it, or he simply is giving us the flip. He’ll give it to us when he is good and ready. The “it” can go either way, and you can insert your own expletive.
Seriously, I have written 3QTR for years, but this year, I think 3QTR we should expect positive movement. If not, we should reevaluate our positions.
Yeah, that was awhile back. Last fall there was something about Eon getting 60 new machines - I think. Honestly, I am not paying as close attention to this as I should. I am a bit worn out from it. I just throw money in and expect a miracle out.
Unicornist. Think I’ll trademark that. We’ll wait some more, then win or lose. Anyway, thanks and good luck to you, too.
What about the Unicornists? Don’t forget us, lol. I am not done with speculating here. There is still a good chance of a big payday. Sixty new machines, some decent marketing, and BMGs gaining market acceptance could get us there.
No, it must be offline. I see trading on my brokerage feed.
The only other small hurdle is sustaining, significant revenue. I think in this case, a reverse split would just cause it to spiral downwards. Besides, in a 30+ billion market, why would the market leader need to do a reverse split? I am sure we can capture 4 billion of that huuuge market. One day.
Given the agreement with Apple, is it safe to assume that this contract is with Eontec outside of LiquidMetal, using Eontec's formula and machines? Is it safe to assume that we will see no revenue from this venture?
I hope that something is up. That’s all I have.
I am not familiar with this outlet, but this is based on some very old news. In fact, I had it posted as a sticky for quite awhile but took it down based on the new rumors. From recent rumors, it appears that Apple will use similar production methods as the iPhone 11.
At this point, if a revolutionary production technology such as LiquidMetal were being used in any Apple product, it probably would have been leaked before now. Apple tries to plug information, but it always leaks out. We already know the Apple 12 design, models, capacity, refresh rate, etc. All that's left is the unveiling 4-5 months from now.
But.... there is a very slight chance that somehow Apple has managed to keep this one supplier, this one production method, this new material, from leaking out.
"Blathering" made me laugh out loud. Thanks for that. At least Steipp did maneuver the take over to a manufacturing entrepreneur that could do something with the company. Yes, time will tell whether we were savvy or sapped.
Okay, I've heard that line for years as well. I've written it myself. "Any words" doesn't need to convey information in an NDA. For example, Prof. Li might say that due to X challenges, we are behind in our goals but continuing to work towards Y. Anything, absolutely anything to indicate that he is personally engaged in the company. He is the major investor, the CEO, and the one person that holds the future of our company and investment.
Sorry, but when I Google "LCP FPC unit" with LiquidMetal, all of the returns from suppliers do not have "LiquidMetal". If you have a source that shows LiquidMetal is the supplier, please post it with Ming's quote and I'll be glad to sticky it. Thanks kindly.
I wish it were so. I am surprised with the 15% unemployment rate and lockdowns that the US GDP is only expected to drop 5%. It's difficult to believe. Maybe somebody has some newer numbers. What I have is that the US GDP was worth $21,200 billion in 2019, and now projected to $20,140 billion by the end of 2020.
So, I guess this stock holding at seven cents is pretty good, all things considered. I expected it to be a nickel or less by now. Apple dipped into the $240 range, and now up over $300 again - for high end consumer electronics. It's unbelievable that it seems to be business as usual.
Yes, there is plenty of time given the amount of cash on hand.
I just don't feel like I can add any more shares at this point due to lack of direct communication. Prof. Li needs to show some interest and communicate what he is doing, business challenges, and expectations directly for Liquidmetal. What the below tells me is "I am focusing on Chinese production". The rest of it is the same stuff that has been rehashed since I've been a stockholder. It's tiring to read and tells me nothing.
That is one thing where we can agree: actions speak louder than words.
However, after four years, a few words from Prof. Li would help investors like me know the direction he was taking the company. Reading tea leaves is not the same as communicating a business strategy.
Let’s hope we see some “loud” action soon.
Thanks much. I appreciate your point of view.
Lol, well, we do have a large chunk of cash on hand that could keep this company running if Prof. Li chooses. I see that the share price is already sagging again.
Anyway, "3QTR" is my unicorn slogan. It's required to post it this time of year.
Yes, I've been thinking about that Eutectix deal. That could be BB's doing as well as the rest. Prof. Li could just be checking in from time to time. Anyway, I honestly think he has checked out of our company and is CEO in name only. I can't think of any CEO that doesn't communicate with shareholders over a four year term. It's ludicrous. Anyway, as mentioned, investors tend to agree that this is a whack company where anything can happen, up or down. Seven cents. We just have to wait and see how it plays out.
It's time for me to start writing 3 QTR.
I used to think his silence was because he was working on something big. I am not so sure of that any more.
So you ask why else would he be silent? How about the simplest answer: he doesn’t care. Perhaps he has all that he wants for the moment, and that’s the IP to develop his China-based business. He might turn his attention to LiquidMetal one day, but I am doubting that will be any time soon. Perhaps BB is trying to keep things alive at the moment with some new marketing and a deal with a small
manufacturer. Perhaps we will doggy paddle around this pond for awhile until Prof. Li gets on it or closes it.
Or, perhaps he has disdain for us American dogs?
Or perhaps he believes himself to be above us?
I am sure there could be other reasons.
So who knows? Prof. Li. Who’s not talking? Prof. Li.
So, I am speculating here with my investment. Maybe it’s a total loss at some point. Maybe it’s a huge hit. However, I think the current share price is a good indicator of chances for success by the investor community.
It’s a great time to buy if you can afford to lose and have a light heart about it.
Yes, I just read that this morning about mmwave in the iPhone 12 Pro. We know LiquidMetal properties would support this perfectly. It's just really difficult to pull a company off of something that's already working for them. Never mind that my iPhone dimmed this morning because it was overheating from heavy use - Apple will just cut power rather than find a better heat sink.
This is the most troubling (for me) aspect of the company. My guess is that if he spoke to investors, we wouldn’t be sitting at seven cents.
Why doesn’t he care about his investment? It defies logic.
This is why one can’t discount posts about his reason to buy in - transfer of IP to China. That is the only logical answer I can see from my Western perspective. If he were engaged with LiquidMetal investors, all of this would vanish from my mind.
I always thought the Apple Watch was the perfect application as well. It could be thinner, more durable, and now, lower production costs. I am not looking for that to happen, or any Apple application. If it does, it will be a surprise gift.
I stand corrected. Replace “no data” with “little data”. Think is terms of the material it is displacing, titanium, and performance data in all its applications, environmental
conditions, etc.
