BobZumb:
From Misery huh? Sorry about that.
You didn't say, but I guess I'm inferring that Bob cannot ban anyone from the board. That is a potentially big issue - but maybe not for BW. He's so nice. I guess a lot of it has to do with the integrity and service of the people that control IH. The fact that you would bother to read BW's post and follow up says a lot right there! Although I am curious (assuming it is true) why it isn't an option. It seems like a resonable option to have on a private board.
Len (JOCO/KU snob, but a fairly good chance of being less snobbish after KU plays GT tomorrow)

I agree with you on the liquidity issue. That is one of the many reasons I have so many stocks. I suspect PDGE will have pretty good liquidity for a long time into the future.
Len
Bobwins:
And what about the big question of the day???
--- Yes, split underware. My mom sews the second half to the first half the day after Christmas - although the first half isn't always that "sewable" - if you know what I mean.
Are you wearing two socks on two different feet today??
--- It's post Christmas isn't it? No seriously, what I didn't mention was that I lost one of my legs in WWII, so I don't need both socks anymore. Sure wish I had lost it BEFORE WWII (Thanks GOD!). Then, the kids wouldn't have made as much fun of me for mismatched socks.
And what do you do between your birthday and Xmas?? It gets cold in Kansas during the fall/winter, doesn't it?
--- I never go outside in the winter. Visualize this. Have you ever slipped on ice with one foot and tried to catch yourself with your stump? It ain't a pretty sight!
Len
P.S. Still catching myself copying the page before I click "submit". Thanks for leading us out of the dark ages!
BOBWINS:
Nice EOY comments. I guess I will have to curb my Nagasaki jokes. I have doubled many stocks this year because of your (and others') recommendations. Hopefully, next year will as good or better.
We all need to keep in mind that low float stocks (not necessarily micro cap) are sensational when there are more buyers than sellers, but in the event that there are more sellers than buyers, low float is NOT where you want to be.
Having said that, Happy New Year.
Len
P.S. My ONLY complaint at the moment with IH is that you can't do a NEW POST from an existing message. You either have to reply to that message or go back to the main page and scroll (depending on the size of the introduction) to NEW POST and then click it. I presume they did that so that a person wouldn't accidentally "reply" when they were posting a new post, but I didn't see that as a problem with RB. Nevertheless, that ranks about a 1% on the scale of issues between the two.

You should check out the CPTC board on IH. Looks like some people have migrated there since the Value Micro Cap crowd has all but given up on RB.
Len
robio/croc:
I don't thing there is any evidence yet of a "monster". At least half the posts are from many of us that are just trying to figure out how to use this puppy. This is only day 2.
The advantages of IH are astronomical as far as I can see. Superceding anything else is the fact that it works - instantly and consistently. But, there are so many other advantages that I see now that I have watched it and played with it for 24 hours. And, if you read yesterday morning's posts, you will see I was drug kicking and screaming into it.
I simply cannot imagine going back to RB and I will not only be surprised, but shocked, if BW/HW decide to do that.
Len
I bought...
... this stock last December at $.45. I wish I could remember who suggested it. I sold half at $.90. Then, it dropped back to the $.50 range and sat there for a long time. Many times I thought about rebuying the half I sold, but didn't. I did buy for my daughter, fortunately. Anyway, I have been pounding the table on this stock for quite awhile. Yielddude as been the primary supporter of PDGE on RB, but gradually more and more of us have jumped on board. Good to see this board and THANK GOD FOR IH. RB SUCKS!
Len
Kipp: Cheap:
Nobody on this planet is as cheap as me!
Evidence 1: Unless it is something that someone put on my plate that I have not asked for, it has been more years than I can begin to count since when I was done eating there was even a CRUMB left on my plate. Usually, I just put the plate back in the cabinet. (ok, I'm kidding on that last sentence, but not the other).
Evidence 2: The BEST toy I had growing up was a rubber ball with a chunk out it! Of course, that made it more interesting when I would bounce it against the house and try to catch it.
Evidence 3: I would get a sock (singlular) for my birthday in August and tne I would get the matching sock (singular) for Christmas. Happy holidays!
Evidence 4: I drive a 1995 Saturn.
Need I say more. $80 might as well be a million! Oh, and then maybe the above evidence explains a few other things about me.
Len
Bobwins:
Hum, that is not good. I assumed you could control who could, or could not, participate since it was a private board. I find it hard to believe that spammers aren't going to sniff out quality boards right and left. Why would they avoid IH? When you look at the other boards on IH, there are obviously many that are very active. It sure seems like spammers will come if they are not already here.
As to RB and a BB reputation, I don't know. I'm not sure VMC can't have an influence on that - especially now. RB sucks so bad that there can't be a single person who posts on it that is anything but sick of it. In fact, it is wholly reasonable to assume it could just be gone someday. How hard would it be to set up equivalent boards on the stocks that we are interested in here (if they are not already set up) and promote IH?
Of course, if you can't boot people then it seems to me you should consider another board if it meets these standards. Hopefully, you will only have to do it one more time in the future. Might as well make sure it is done right and every base has been covered. I'm fairly sure that the vast majority of the 30-50 major contributors to VMC on RB will go wherever you deem best.
Len
R59:
This is my last post - except if it is eastern time, I will be able to post #1 for tomorrow in about 3 minutes. What is there to not "work out". It is awesome! I can't imagine what kind of bozo didn't realize this right away.
Len
Peeker:
Yeah, you may be right about that. If you have 18 posts, you want to use your allotment. Hopefully, he and HW are deciding on rules and requirements. Obviously, there were a lot of posts today while we wer trying to understand this board, but think how many posters were not around today! So, it remains to be seen. One thing for sure, you can zip through the posts about a hundred times faster.
Len
shmolt: Threes:
Thanks to both of you. I see that now. I didn't realize that would be for posts, but all a post is is a link, so it makes sense. Obviously, I will know soon enough, but can you attach any text to the link - as a memo?
Len
Marvel: CLRO:
Yes, I did see it. Thanks for the summary! I guess that pretty well answers my question.
I wonder if you can "carry over" posts to the next day like Singular?
Len
IH is superior.
I have seen the light. My conversion is on the Value Microcap board.
Len
shmolt:
Yeah, I see that I can get the last 50, but that is for all boards. One thing I used quite a bit on RB was the last 30 (and of course, you could extend that) for all boards OR the last 30 for a single board. Many times I would remember someone said something on a particular board. If I just looked at the 30 posts on THAT board, I could find it fairly quickly. If I had to go through all their posts on all their boards, it might take 10 times longer to find the post I was looking for. But, as I say, that is a small issue.
As to all the stuff that people will inevitably attach to their post, I'm not much for all that. I'm a "black typing on white paper, data only" type of person. Not much for pictures. Although with the ability to be creative, I might just have to play around with it.
BTW: I'm guessing that a private email counts as one of your 18.
Len
RB vs IH
Ok, I've seen enough. Whoever thought that RB was superior to IH is a MORON. In my case, a naive, uneducated moron. I already love this site.
It isn't perfect. I would rather have the favorite board update on the same page as the post - like RB. I would like to be able to get the last 30 posts by a particular poster for a particular board only. I would like to have the favorite posters be highlighted on the main page - like RB. I would like to have more than 18 posts a day - especially considering how many BB stocks I have.
But, the advantages are enormous, the speed is heavenly and the dependability is guaranteed to be overwhelmingly better than RB - since RB is the worst dependability I have ever seen on the net. IH really is in a whole other league as far as professionalism goes.
So, I'm sold. I may have to anti up the $80 (take out a second mortgage before the bubble bursts) to have unlimited posts. I'm not sure what other advantages you get for it, but the unlimited posts probably justifies it alone. I'm waiting first, though, to see what Bobwins and Hweb decide.
Thanks again for leading me by the nose! Now, I can sell it to others.
Len
OK, I'm conceding.
It will take me awhile to go through all that, but I see most of it is there. I wanted to push the envelope on this issue before it was emotionally too late and a community decision had been made. Believe me I HATE RB much of the time. Who wouldn't? If these things are available here at a reasonable price (or free), then it would be time to convert everyone on all the boards we care about to come over to the boards here.
Thanks for the spoonfeeding. That is what I wanted!
Damn, I only have 8 posts remaining.
Len
Shmolton:
Ok, I added private messages to the IH list. But, how do you say that IH has all the RB advantages??? IH does not let you bookmark specific boards and update them constantly as to any new posts. That is the single biggest feature that I (personally) care about - apart from the software working. Also, IH does not allow you to ignore a poster. Also, IH does not allow you to choose a poster and look at the number of posts he has posted on every board. Because of that IH does not allow you to look at his last 30 posts on a given board. IH only lets you have 18 posts a day. IH isn't letting me highlight a poster. Maybe it will, but not so far.
Now, how can you say that IH has all the RB advantages???
Len
RB vs IH
Ok, here are the advantages to each as I see them.
RB BENEFITS:
1) Sidebar with instant updates on all preferred stocks.
2) Ability to research any poster by board(s).
3) Ability to search for posts by board or general.
4) Ability to ignore any poster or highlight any poster.
5) No limit to daily posts.
IH BENEFITS:
1) It works.
2) Edit feature.
3) Private messages.
Supposedly, you can highlight a specific poster on IH too, but I have tried and it isn't working for me.
I'm interested to know what other advantages IH has. If there are others, fine. If not, then RB is definitely superior as far as I can see (AS LONG AS IT WORKS - which I admit is a BIG assumption).

As far as I'm concerned, you can't beat the level of posters on Value Micro Cap board - and CPTC to a lesser degree.

BW probably needs to put the seal of approval on it, but that is how I show it ended. You will notice that I have bbterp out of order. He has been out of order all the times I've posted it. I just noticed it. I went back to the original post and the number is correct, the order is incorrect.
But, regardless of that, you won! Congratulations. I was sure I was going to win.

Peeker: I think RRainman went somewhere for the holidays. When he gets back, I need to remember to tell him that I finished reading http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/Pages_1-184.pdf WOW!
RB: RB is highly superior if it works. It is free! I love having the instant update of all stocks I'm interested in every time I do anything. I also love the poster history stuff. And, it makes it a million times easier to find stuff that someone may have written in the past. Of course, there is the minor issue that this board works!
Bob: How are they going to charge me after 18 posts? They have no information on me. What do they do, just shut you out until you agree to give them your data?
Len
gold:
I'll try to check in here too. I hope RB gets fixed because I try to monitor lots of stocks and you can't do that here. I LOVE the way RB updates all stocks everytime you click anything. I also love the poster history. I would never leave RB if it worked. But, this is day 4 of ludicrously bad response times.
Len
Bob:
We got your PO'd post. Why do you think I'm here. I got scared.
Len
STOP THE PRESSES!
I'm here.

Estimated:
Good luck on the board. My only reason for being reluctant is that I HATE to change to other message boards. I don't even like Yahoo and I always have a window opened to it. Why didn't you decide to open one up on RB? The beauty of that is that every single time I go to any post on any board, I can see what new posts are on all my boards. How will I know if there is a new post here without bookmarking it and then pulling it up just to check. Seems like too much work in a drive through society.
Len
Bob:
I wonder why it says I have 2 posts remaining. Does that mean you can only post 3 times a day? On the same board? That kind of sucks, if true.
Here is the bottom line with ASPN. If they only have 2 employees, just how much growth can there be??? Of course, on the other hand, if you go from 2 to 4 and you double your growth, that ain't so hard. Try having Intel double their employee count!!
Len
Bobwins:
I figured I'd sign up and post to give you support. Here for the long haul if you are right about your expectations.
Len
