Positioning for (or currently navigating) a bidding war w/Merck and Bristol?
Hope cancer data blows the doors off in the next days/months.
I don't have a lot of GALT but what I do have I'll hold until the end. Been through too many ups and downs w/this.
Nash only?
I guessing that it's pretty likely that GR-MD-02 will also work for early stage cirrhotics whose disease was brought about by alcohol abuse. Pre-clinical work on rodents was on chemically induced liver disease. Alcohol abuse is (I think) still the leading cause of cirrhosis, followed closely by NASH. If that's the case—and it wouldn't be too hard to prove—the market is at least double for this drug.
Don't know if that would enter into any negotiations with partners or not...
It's interesting about the 2 mg dosage. I suspect that better results from the lower dosage (rather than higher) may not carry over to the onc. trial-that's really just a guess, though. As I recall, higher doses were more efficacious in skin indications. I don't think they thoroughly understand dosage w/this drug yet. But rather than being a neg., I think it offers hope for improved results.
FWIW at this point, I came across this post on a liver disease support forum that I follow. It describes a participant's experience in the trial:
"I was in the subset of study participants that did not have varices at start of study. My results were lower fibroscan score, lower HVPG, lowered Nash score on bx, no varices and had a reduction of gastric irritation, and according to physical exam had soft liver.
All good results and certainly worthwhile to pursue IMO. I DO NOT know if I was receiving medicine or not but my guess is that I was (at the lower dose). I hope they can continue to do phase 3 trial but they will need funds to do so. It did not melt the cirrhotic scarring but how great would it be if it prevented varices and their horrific consequences. It could save millions of lives .
I will reply again once I find out if I got the medicine.....who knows, maybe I just got lucky."
There are of course others who did not fare as well.
After all this time and effort, I hope they don't sell this for $10/sh.
I think that's incorrect.
I think there were 2 and 8 arms in this trial.

Page 10, on the graphs you'll see Placebo, GR2, and GR8. They also mentioned that the lower dose efficacy aligned with previous studies (my take on that was they were referencing pre-clinical animal studies).
But the lower dose appeared to be more efficacious...
Not arguing really. I've wondered what a much higher dose would do. Have to wonder if the dosage is really dialed in. That said, I was happy to see that they achieved the results that they did. I suspect also that the drug is working in patients with varices too. it's just harder to tell. Wonder if they'll allow the patients who responded positively to continue treatment?
Wouldn't insiders have been better off to have waited to purchase until after any offering/dilution?
No argument here. I don't do charts so most of what you said went straight over my head. My method is fairly simple. If I like what I see I buy and or hold. If I don't, I'll sell. Timeline isn't super important for me, as long as progress is apparent and predictable.
I am a small fish though.
Can't be 12% every day...
Who fU@kin' knows? They seem to do everything ass backwards. Hoping for the best tomorrow AM but am prepared to face the losses (again).
Personally, though the oncology trials have been small, I've been pleased with what I've seen. I'll probably let my modest amount of shares continue to ride based on just onc.
Good luck to all longs. I'll see you tomorrow (crowing or crying).
Yeah, that's how it works. It goes up, it goes down, it goes up, it goes down. The trend is your friend DUD. I'm not in this for a .10 swing.
Hope so. I just topped off the tank.
Good call. Nice to have an expert here...
How do you know we have not had one offer? Maybe the company's timeline just doesn't align with yours.
Or, you could just wait a couple of months...
No kidding!!!
It's my turn to make dinner!!!
And whatever IPIX has to say may be interesting too.
It is a gene, is it not? Perhaps it expresses proteins whose presence (or absence--based on the gene's inactivation) is beneficial or detrimental? I haven't followed K too closely for some time but that's how I think of it...
Seems like a circular argument to me.
Yup. See what George just posted... "Investigator non-compliance".
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the non-compliance problem with that one site's administration (procedures) rather than the patients themselves?
That doesn't make sense to me. B-ABSSSI is intravenous and P is via oral. Has to be a significant saving there--doesn't there?
nerds :)
looking foeward to the next 6 months.
Yeah, I thought that too. Autocorrect?
I guess my thought is: We already know it's good. I don't give a flux if it doesn't move at all tomorrow, or if it drops a bit. As long as the news continues to be positive, I'm in. Simple as that. Gotta be patient for the big payoff.
You're working hard today, but don't worry. I think your job will soon be finished. I'm looking forward to Thursday's report but am not expecting an instantaneous increase in SP. If it does happen, all the better. I suspect a partnership is in the works now but may take a little more time to implement. Any reasonable/mature investor should be OK with that. Whining really doesn't help anything.
Zing!!!
Go IPIX!
According to this post by (BlueFin 188606)? We are at the 50% you mention. That is using a sub-optimal delivery. What might be achieved with foam or gel or pill?
I'm afraid I'm going to have to hold you to that 50% = nearly $50 by year's end :)
I can't wait--but I guess I'll have to.
"Treatment has been completed in a Phase 2 clinical trial of brilacidin for ulcerative proctitis and ulcerative proctosigmoiditis — a study that led to six of the 12 patients’ bowel diseases going into remission.
Innovation Pharmaceuticals will present the trial results at the Drug Discovery & Therapy World Congress in Boston on July 13. The two inflammatory bowel diseases are collectively known as UP/UPS.
“For those of us who have been involved in this trial from the start, it’s exciting to see brilacidin perform as well as we thought it would,” Dr. Arthur P. Bertolino, Innovation Pharmaceuticals’ chief medical officer, said in a news release. “The endoscopic evidence we have now gathered on patients is particularly telling. "
Will it ever go anywhere?
If you don't know (or can't find out) what an NDA is, you might be better off burying your money in the yard someplace.
Oh jeebus! Did he really spell "gem" wrong in the title?
Have to read it...later.
No, I don't. He has the maturity and understanding of a junior high school bully. This can be chronic, and is a very painful and debilitating disease.
Oh yeah let's also remember the words "proof of concept", "foam", and "oral".
I appreciate biotech2010's willingness to share his/her views.
A critical eye can be a very good thing. One can be critical and still be a "fan".
Been almost exactly 5 months (if I can still count correctly) since the last filing in the case. I know these things can take some time but geeeez....Almost makes you wonder if a ruling is being withheld intentionally because of other ongoing factors. Probably just a fantasy. :)
The injustice of it all.
Looking forward to the UP news when it comes out this week, or next week, or the week after that. Not expecting a huge increase in SP (unless there are other announcements) but it'll come.
Have a little patience, Doctor.
I don't know. I just hope it does whatever it's going to do in the next 20 or so days!
Wonder how many are short. Could be a lot after yesterday's presentation...
Not sure what to think of moves like this. With GALT, historically, it doesn't mean much--usually riding on another liver stocks coattails. There is an article out today about ICPT (trial redesign). Could that be it?
I don't -sorry if I misinterpreted. I'm here till the buyout.
Would you counsel us to wait until after a partnership is announced to buy?
Let me just hitch my wagon to that star...
