Patents on solid state battery anodes would be big as well as the other patents they will file hopefully soon for other applications . I believe this might be the quarter they said they might file some more patents from the road map goals . Will have to check . 10Q came out last year for the previous quarter on July 27th so im looking for 10 Q anytime to see how much cash Coretec has left.
From the Coretec blog today on the Plug Volt conference Michelle says in the post what i believe is VERY IMPORTANT STATEMENT !!:
Overall, it was a good networking opportunity, and we expect some fruitful follow-up conversations to occur because of our participation in PlugVolt. The parties present at this conference were definitely “all in” on electrification and silicon has a significant part to play in this effort. Our Endurion program is being recognized as a major player in this effort. A company in Japan worked with Cyclohexisilane a few years ago and were working on a process for it i think for semi conductors but i dont believe anything came out of it. The key is the process to refine it and scale it which Coretec owns its own process and then the doping of the Si6H12 and working with it as a started material to create better materials depending on the application space. Yeah it gets a little complicated but Ramez does have some good info out there and videos as well that help get a better picture. I heard from a good source who said at Dow Corning they tried years ago to work with Cyclohexisilane to use it but not sure in what capacity but they failed to get what they needed . Ramez
said with new technology he was able to get a process created for it and scale it . That was a hugh day . I remember the blog Michael made refererance to just that . That was big but really no one noticed .
Amprius ( AMPX ) silicons listed in one of their patents are silicons and types of silanes that Coretec has already compared its CHS to and found to have lower depositons temperatures and higher yields which all come into play with making a silicon anode.
Amprius silanes listed from the patent : Any approptiate silicon source may be used for the non-conformal and conformal silicon layers including ; ( Monosilane ) silane SiH4 , Dichlorosilane ( H2SiCl2 ) , Monocchlorosilane ( H3SiCL ) Diphenylsilane ( The CEA mentioned this silane as one they compared CHS to ) Trichlorosilane ( HSiCL3 ) and Silicon tetrachloride ( SiCl4 ) to form silicon layers .
Coretec said these types of traditionally used silanes nanoparticles i mentioned above are not able to be functionalized at small nanoparticle sizes like CHS derived silicon nanoparticles and CHS to begin with can be made smaller . So the SEI layer now being formed on CHS custom made silicon nanoparticles are superior for several reasons .It can be a bit complicated for thse of us who are not chemists but Coretec has provided a lot of information and other companies have a lot of patents out there to compare Coretecs siicon anode active material to . Ive been told recently by one of the top people in the materials business that the semi conductor ndustry has been wanting this material ( CHS ) for a long time . As we know its ready for use in anodes but needs to have the process refined more to get for one a more pure material so it can be applied to semi conductors something they dont have to do to apply CHS for anode materials
When Coretec first started working on creating a process for their CHS with Evonik , which was successful though they parted way later, Coretecs plan was to commercialize CHS by shipping it out to customers who had bui;t out designs for their technologies using CHS. But Coretec stated that customers wanted more data on CHS Coretec formed the partnerships with the CEA ( french alternative energy and atomic energy commision ) and also Erik Bakkers at Eindhoven University to get that data . Well, after Covid related delays , that data came back showoing CHS had lower deposition temteratures and higher yeilds than the other traditionally used silanes that are most widely used today in technologies. So, then as we Know Coretec decided not to commercialize CHS right then BUT KEEP IT FOR THEMSELVES AND CREATE A LAB AND USE CHS IN MAKING THEIR OWN SILICON ACTIVE ANODE MATERIALS FOR A SILICON ANODE FOR LITHIUM ION BATTERIES FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES AND OTHER APPLICATIONS instead of comercializing it which would mean shipping it to cutomers so they could licence it and make their own tennologies using CHS. (Using our own CHS in owr our lab for silicon anodes is NOT commercializing CHS but Coretec is commercializing their own silicon anodes which has CHS in it commercializing CHS is shipping it to other companies by itself so they can build their own products using Coretecs CHS . ) But Coretec choose what they feel is the most profitable and FASTEST WAY TO MARKET. Plus they own all the patents thus their current plan to create value by developing a family of patents which they spoke of i the last call. Some CHS didnt go away as we can see through patent filings but is one of the main ingredients in Coretecs silicon anodes according to patent filings and statements from Coretec . I hope this clears this up a bit . I might add commercializing CHS would entail for one refing the process CHS to make it very pure with a semi conductor company then scaling CHS then shipping CHS ( Commercializing it they pay for it ) it to semi conductors manufacturers to use to make semiconductors for semi conductor companies .
The more recent patent filing
ANN ARBOR, Mich., May 4, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Coretec Group (OTCQB: CRTG), developers of silicon anode active materials for lithium-ion batteries and cyclohexasilane (CHS) for electric vehicles (EVs), cleantech, and emerging tech applications......
Coretec’s team of scientists have developed three distinct and novel methodologies for minimizing pulverization and increasing rate capability by creating an artificial SEI layer around the silicon nanoparticle. Data supports the claims outlined in the patent filing and indicate that Endurion batteries utilizing this proprietary SEI layer are capable of extending the life of silicon-based anodes and enable improved silicon loadings in lithium-ion batteries for more energy density.
Now they are creating the artificial SEI layer around the CHS , Cyclohexisilane > silicon nanoparticle ...in some embodiments that would be stated in this patent . They are working with other silanes as well s they did mention that in a the pervious news release i posted .
I think it very important for shareholders to remember and see that CHS has been the heart of the Endurion Battery silicon anode program and still is . It confused shareholders i believe when Matt Kappers said a while back that , " Coretec had not given up on commercializing CHS " etc He was talking about further work with the chemical CHS and refining it for use for semi conductors where the CHS material has to be extreemly pure for use i that space or application .Thats what the hope still is as they seek funding to work with a semi conductor company to continue to refine CHS for semiconductor applications . But thats not the case for silicon anodes or for LEDs for that matter . The work being done on anodes can be helpful for LED applications as well. We can see that here in the filing below
ANN ARBOR, MI / BUSINESSWIRE / February 28, 2022 – The Coretec Group, Inc., (OTCQB: CRTG), a developer of engineered silicon and 3D volumetric displays, has filed a full utility patent on its provisional patent for the development of advanced silicon anodes using cyclohexasilane (CHS) and other silanes.
The full-utility patent – filed February 24, 2022 – builds on a provisional patent filed a year earlier. This patent application covers the use of CHS to produce a wide variety of silicon anodes for use in lithium-ion batteries.
Filing the utility patent is a necessary step to formally protect The Coretec Group’s work on the battery initiative it embarked upon last year.
And from the last conferance call :
And, with regards to the Endurion, we have two pieces of IP right now, so one, a patent that was filed initially, and then where we've done
a conversion in February of 2022 through a PCT application, is a CHS approach to making a wide variety of silicon anode materials, and
these can be either pure silicon anode materials or doped silicon anode materials or even silicon nitride in an anode material that's now
of interest, or an approach to take a graphitic or carbon type of particle and then grow silicon nanowires on that using CHS.

This refers to Armistice : They excersiced 12.5 million pre- funded on May 9th I believe 2023. That give them 39 million left to sell . In Feb 2023 the 23.5 million original shares was down to 13.4 million according to the SEC filing
On March 2, 2021, the Company entered into the Purchase Agreement with a single institutional investor in a private placement to sell (i) 23,500,000 shares of its common stock, (ii) pre-funded warrants to purchase up to an aggregate of 51,500,000 shares of its common stock, and (iii) warrants to purchase up to an aggregate of 82,500,000 shares of its common stock for gross proceeds of approximately $6,000,000. The combined purchase price for one share of common stock and associated Warrant is $0.08 and for one Pre-Funded Warrant and associated Warrant is $0.0799. The sale of the securities under the Purchase Agreement closed on March 5, 2021. The pre-funded warrants have an exercise price of $0.0001 per share, subject to adjustment as set forth in the pre-funded warrants for stock splits, stock dividends, recapitalizations and similar events. The pre-funded warrants will be exercisable immediately and may be exercised at any time until all of the pre-funded warrants are exercised in full. In addition, the Company agreed to issue to the placement agent (or its designees) warrants to purchase a number of shares equal to 8.0% of the aggregate number of shares and pre-funded warrant shares sold under the Purchase Agreement, or warrants to purchase an aggregate of up to 6,000,000 shares. The placement agent warrants generally will have the same terms as the warrants, except they will have an exercise price of $0.10.
I saw a quote from someone that said the MMs ( market makers ) wont let it go above 3 cents . Lets take a closer look at the stock action over the last several months especially the last 2 and look at Armistice Coretecs institutional investor and their stock holdings :
Note 8 – Subsequent Events the last 10Q :
On May 9, 2023 an investor provided notice of cash exercise for pre-funded warrants with a price per share of $0.0001. The warrant exercise results in an issuance of 12,500,000 common shares for cash consideration of $1,250.
Armistice is the only one that could have exercised these warrants i know of . They had 23 million to start after the initial funding to Coretec and in a filing in Feb 2023 they had 13 million left and now the exercise of 12.5 million pre funded warrants on May 9, 2023 and 38 million pre funded warrant remaining . They still have 82 million warrants left that can be exercised at 0.0799 cents
First we need huge demand and huge volume which may happen now or only with news to move this higher .But on the other hand lets take a look at this : Armistice , the company that gave Coretec 6 million dollars , excercised pre funded warrants to the tune of 12.5 million dollars in May. They still have 38 million pre funded warrants left .They can only have 4.99% of the outstanding share count , no more, at a time . When the stock was driven to a penny and below it had to be Armistice that was selling aggressively no one else had that many shares that were aggressively sold and position to sell so many shares as it was not insiders . A few days after the very positive conference call that stopped and the stock moved up slowly and then the Plug Volt battery show and the stock rebounded nicely with more demand and large ordrs to buy. But i believe Armistice is still selling stock but not well below the ask again and again like what happened in the drop to a penny. So with 38 million pre funded warrants remaining after they sell that last 12.5 million shares we might see another filing from them as we did in early May and the selling might continue .
Michelle Tokarz quoted in new article just out
https://www.energytech.com/energy-storage/article/21270254/the-electrode-less-traveled-alternatives-to-liion-in-battery-energy-storage
Silicon anodes reportedly avoid the plating issues of li-ion at low temperatures. They also can elevate the quality of charge within li-ion systems.
“Currently, most, if not all, anodes in a lithium-ion battery have some percentage of a conductive material (either as an additive or coating) that boosts the over-conduction of lithium ions,” Coretec Group’s Tokarz said. “Given the tremendous opportunity with silicon’s 10X charge capacity, finding a way to boost the conduction is absolutely worthwhile.”
We might also remember Tesla works with Panasonic making batteries so a The Coretec Group and Panasonic battery partnership could involve Tesla as well . Just a thought .
Tesla partnership possibilities with The Coretec Group (CRTG) ....The Coretec Group / Tesla partnership ( Elon Musk would benefit greatly with need for better materials for the Space X program as well ) i believe is possible since Tesla a while back bought a Silicon anode company called SilLion inc for their batteries . I believe The Coretec group has a better silicon anode than Tesla purchased at that time and i would think Tesla is continuing to look at other companies silicon anodes . If you remember way back in an early Coretec shareholder call , maybe the first when Coretec was still in partnership North Dakota State University they said that Tesla had contacted NDSU for samples of the Cyclohexsilane , CHS , product they developed at NDSU but they said they couldnt scale up enough of it in their lab to give Tesla what they needed .That was before Coretec was started and they said one reason that Coretec was started so they could scale up the Si6H12 , CHS , materials to ship out to companies who wanted to test it . Most of us know the route Coretec took after they became a company out of NDSU so i wouldnt get into that but as you know , now, Coretec not only has the materials they need to work with but have created their own silicon active anode material and created perhaps the best silicon anode to date and are positioned for EV auto partnerships and battety manufacturer partnerships in Quarter 4 of this year .
If Coretec gets deals with major EV auto companies and Battery manufacturers the 4th Quarter this possibly move the stock price to a dollar one would think . They dont have a big outstanding share count and insiders own are high recent of the stock. That kind of news would be huge !!
Tesla would be a nice partner for The Coretec Group as they have a huge following and the presence Elon Musk has on Twitter , X , would give The Coretec Group big exposure on their new silicon anode battery materials. The names Ford , GM , Rivian and Tesla were all mentioned as major players in the EV space as well as battery companies LG and Panasonic and one other in the last conferance call with shareholders and Michelle followed that statement with the statement that The Coretec Group was working with several of these major players. This quarter pouch cell testing is one goal which is big because thats the data eveyone wants to see and also possibly filing more patents this quarter . 3rd quarter is July , Aug and Sept 4th Quarter Oct , Nov and December coming soon. I believe there are big things ahead !!
The 10Q that came out last year for the 2nd quarter came out early on July 27th . Look for the 10Q perhaps being out early this year as well. Will bee looking for how much cash Coretec has left as they havnt recieved any funding in a long time and that is the most important thing to watch at this point that they need , CASH , to get to the finish line . The 4th Quarter goals Coretec stated in the call recently are looking at partnerships with Battery manufactuers and end user partnerships as well as comercialization plans will be in the works . That could be a big quarter as we could see Coretec partner with big EV companies and battery manufacturers.

The money was for :
This Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) award supports the acquisition of a high-resolution electron microscope at Wayne State University (WSU) capable of chemical and structural mapping on the nanoscale to advance research being performed by 23 different investigators in the fields of energy conversion/storage, catalysis, microelectronics/sensing, and biomedical sciences.

Dr. Leela Arava at Wayne State started a 5 year program to make better Li batteries and a $500,000 plus grant to fund it in May of 2018. That just ended but the accomplishments and innovation that took place with that $500,000 It looks like are being passed on to The Coretec groups Enduring battery program. They were working on Li sulfur battery tech with that money but I bet they learned a lot and also learned that Silicon anodes are the future during that time thus the partnership with CRTG.I wonder if he has received a new grant to continue their work ??

From Ramez Elgammals blog ..VERY ENCOURAGING WORDS HERE !!
The Electrochemical Society meeting highlighted the remarkable progress made in overcoming the limitations of silicon anodes, while also acknowledging the obstacles ahead. Moreover, it provided further validation that our Endurion solution is cutting-edge and promises to deliver a pathway for long-lasting batteries with high energy densities to meet the needs of the growing electric vehicle market. The collaboration between scientists and engineers, business and industry leaders, and policymakers at the conference underscored the urgency and collective effort required to propel the commercialization and widespread adoption of these promising energy storage solutions.

Could Our Next Energy ONE be a partner at some point for Coretec ? They are close to Coretec and have built a battery manufacturing plant in Michigan . They are in partnership with BMW i ventures who funded them . They have several batteries one a LFP battery which Michelle Tokarz said she didnt feel that battery would be the battery of the future. Our Next Energy needs a better battery tech and maybe Coretec can help them get there . Michelle likked one of their recent posts and marked it on her Linkedin acct
